hi all ive searched all over the forum and couldn't find a difinitive answer. i need to know if the coils on the RB25DET Neo motor have the igniter built into the coil (cos there isnt an igniter module on the Neo coil cover), or do they run a separate igniter module like earlier 25s and RB26s (is it hiding in a different spot??). Any help on this would be great. Thanks in advance Ray

so if a R34 gtt PFC plugs straight in, will it work properly with the attesa?? i only ask as someone stated that the attesa needs a tps signal. does the PFC supply this signal or do u need to do a bit of wiring??

where did u get the braided lines from?? did u ask 4 stagea 1s or do u have to ask 4 something else that still fits stagea (example: ask 4 skyline R33 gtst or something)
-

i found out some info today u guys might like to know. i went to QLD transport today and asked the guys in the compliance office about brake upgrades. he said that fiiting the brakes from a R34 gtt would require a mod plate, but u can fit the brakes from a 260RS (brembos) with no need 4 a mod plate as long as they r from the same year model stagea (but im thinking as long as the part numbers r the same on gtr brembos as stagea, it wont matter). so u guys that have done the gtt upgrade may want to check, as u could have voided ur insurance!! whats that gonna cost ya!!

if u guys r really cops (it makes sense, how else would they catch all those skyline driving 200kph+ bandits? with a R34!!), does that mean u can help out the forum by clarifyin defect laws so we can make sure our cars r roadworthy and stay that way?? to all the police officers out there, keep up the good work.

Twin Turbo Manifolds 4 Rb25
Raysboostin replied to Raysboostin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah i did a search, but couldn't find any info on off the shelf gear. thats y i asked. r the oem RB26 manifolds cast or fabricated?? edit: RB26 is cast. i guess u could buy one of those aftermarket stainless manifolds for a 26 and change the flanges to suit. it would look alot neater than a cut'n'shut oem manifold. someone should do one of those sticky threads about twin turbo 25s. there seems to be alot of interest in it, and the questions r always the same. -
hi all, a mate of mine is doin a build up on his r33 and we need to know if there is any off the shelf twin turbo manifolds to suit rb25. b4 u all start sayin "put a RB26 in it", or "just use a single turbo setup" he already has built the engine and has purchased turbos. if there isnt anything available he is just gonna have some made.

JJR Coil Packs Vs Oem Vs Splitfire Vs Other
Raysboostin replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
coils are denfinately not all the same. the aftermarket stuff has really come a long way. the nissan std coils r quite good, but imo there is a whole range on very powerful coils out there that would b better than std (and prob cost around the same sort of $$). example, i changed to MSD coils from stock ones in my V6 commodore and dropped from 14.5 to 14.02 with just the coils and a small adjustment to the tune in the last 1000rpm (merely to correct a/f ratio). making brackets isnt that envoled either. -
tryin a new type of resonator. if that doesnt work then another muffler goes in

JJR Coil Packs Vs Oem Vs Splitfire Vs Other
Raysboostin replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
has anyone done a setup with any other brands of coils? like MSD, Crane etc, etc. there is a huge range of very powerful coils at much better prices than $500 for 6. alternatively is there any one using CDI's or DIS units?? what sort of results r u seeing? -
stock exhaust has no note at all. even when u get the revs up u can just hear it over the road noise and engine fan.
-
no idea about brand names. they only use quality stuff ive used them b4, they just dont get many guys with RB engines come in and say "im not worried about big power i just want a good note with no drone".

Making Your Stagea A Fuel Miser
Raysboostin replied to groonsnout's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
there's ur problem mines a manual. (like i said earlier its an RS4S) totally stock until i got a 3inch cat back 2 days ago -
the V500 uses a patch loom. it converts ur r34 plug to its own wolf plug. so u just order the correct program and patch loom and off u go. very handy if u plan to upgrade in the future, EG. should u sell ur r33 to get a r34 all u need to is put plug the stock 1 back in and order a new patch loom and a reprogram and ur off again. that way u dont have to buy another ecu to suit different plugs. cant wait to get one

How Good Would This Exhaust Manifold Be
Raysboostin replied to B0oStEr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if that manifold has the pipes merging b4 the collector (looks like it in the pic), then it kinda defeats the purpose of being tuned length. would be better than a standard manifold, but id still rather have 1 where all six merge together at the collector. imo thats the best design for good response -
Making Your Stagea A Fuel Miser
Raysboostin replied to groonsnout's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
its a good idea in theory, but as far as im aware 6th gear (.793:1) in an r34 gtr box is roughly the same ratio as 5th gear (.752:1) in a r33 gtr 5spd and the aftermarket ones are geared even more aggressively and will chew more fuel. i have a formula for working out cruising rpm some where, i'll work it out and tell u what the difference is. i dont think it would be any more 200rpm or so. imo the fuel economy might be hiding in the final drive (diff) ratio. diff ratio change has a massive effect on cruising rpm, but it'll cost ya some acceleration. also just went through my first full tank of fuel (95ron premo) in my rs4s and got about 550kms. it was a good mix of casual and hard driving, about 70/30. -
spoke to them today, they think we'll have to change the resonator for a bigger one
-
for the record if i wanted to make lots of power i wouldn't have bought a stagea (i already have a car for that). i just like the engine note and wanna hear it when it suits me.
-
today i got a 3inch cat back exhaust fitted (with a 3inch cat) its got a centre resonator and a muffler at the rear. it sounds like crap!! it drones that bad it causes a vibration through the whole car!! worst thing is when u get the revs up its not much louder than the stock one!!! i'll be taking it straight back for them to fix, has anyone got any suggestions??
