  1. i think you found the ones outta my car!
  2. check what auction?? there was no link posted. seeing as others have posted saying its just a jaycar fuel adjuster, but their selling it as a "chip". certainly sounds like a scam to me. pull your head in dipstick! just because i said "choke" instead of cold start map doesn't invalidate the point. last time i checked, advancing the timing all the way to maximum while changing nothing else was a bad idea. if thats the way to "do it properly", explain why the aren't like that to start with?? i agree the jaycar unit is fine, but saying "assuming you know what to do with it" is a bloody big assumption! messing around with the fuel map is a dangerous (as in engine failure) game, unless you've got the know how and tools (like a very accurate air/fuel ratio meter) to do it right. especially when we have no idea of the level of modification done to the car, or what fritters77 is looking to get out of it power wise. so the best advise to give someone (that made no mention of mods, power expectations, tuning skills or even mechanical know how) is to have it done professionally.
  3. Yay i finally found something i can b on a leader board for! I've done a 1:06.5 round the queensland raceway sprint track (just to be clear its not the full length national track the V8 supercars use.) only mods to my c34 were coilovers, FMIC, turbo back 3inch and gtt brakes. Hopefully now that ive made some handling adjustments i can improve on this dreadfully slow time.
  4. Theres only 1 possible outcome from buying a "chip" off ebay. U'll get scammed! Chips only damage your engine nothing more. Most of them are just a basic program that tells the ecu either to leave the choke on all the time or 1 other value. Worst one i heard of made the ecu advance the timing all the way. Dont even consider buying a "chip". If u cant afford a nistune as a minimum, dont mess with the ecu.
  5. Not so much function, as the setup doesnt suit the application. Out of the ones ive tried the rears are just never right. Ive spent alot of time and money changing springs and making adjustments which amounted to very little. The valving of the shocks on a wagon are not the same as a coupe, so the gtr rears dont really work. But its really relative to use. If u never carry anything in the back or go to the track u prob wont notice the inbalance. Your better off spending the money on a set ofcoilovers designed for a stagea. Rather than a cheap generic set adapted to bolt into anything.
  6. You need to go to a better distributor, i got genuine KYB replacement shocks for an r33 off the shelf from a distributor in brisbane. I would guess they could get stagea ones if u have the part no. off them. If ur interested i'll look for the name.
  7. still getting my 11L/100. did anyone bother to take pics?? i took 1 for the whole day. DOH!!
  8. is the car manual or auto from the factory?? the ratios are different. its also stamped on the crown wheel
  9. if its a complete diff in housing whats the ratio??
  10. bugger tuff luck man. better ask toyota if they can rush ur order through
  11. i remember a guy in NSW had a ser1 with a 2.7 stroker that ran a 10 something. i cant remember who cos hes had like 3 different profile names
  12. i wouldnt recommend modifying the stock ones on the car. as Darrin said they are rubber coated and held in with double sided tape. which means when u try and weld them the rubber and tape will melt. which will mean u'll have to take all the rubber off to get an even finish. this may also cause the roof to leak as there will be 10 holes into the cabin under the strips. as for stagea_dayz's suggestion of bogging it up, you will need atleast 3 whole containers of bog to do it! because once you take off the stainless steel strips theres a HUGE gap to be filled. i'd suggest to completely remove the stock ones BEFORE you modify them or do as i did and throw them away and sheet metal over the gap then fill and paint. but the latter will require the roof to be painted.
  13. What happened Micah?? blown hose or something??
  14. so have i but im still goin! just stand clear of me everyone.
  15. I'll bet mine was dirtier! mine is my daily driving round dirty construction sites. i pulled about a KG of mud out of the rear bar and im sure theres still some in there. Own up everyone, who spent all day sat cleaning theirs??
  16. while your at it, can u wash mine?? its filthy!!
  17. for the record, yes i am one of those guys that likes the ser 1 front, i bought the car damaged and it needed a front anyway. before u say it R34 front was WAY out of the budget. but my main motivation for the front swap was that i have 2 RS4S stags and i wanted to set them apart a bit.
  18. Thanks. theres ALOT of stags driving over sextons hill, i usually see at least 1 a day
  19. OH god id never badge a car as something its not. I did a Ser1 front conversion for a bit of a different look. i call it series 2.1
  20. most coilovers for stagea are just gtr ones with s14 rear top plates and they dont work PROPERLY. i wouldnt suggest stock gtr shocks either as there is alot of difference between a coupe and a wagon. chase up KYB with the part number stamped on the shocks. if that doesnt work you may have to get a set of stockers refurbished. id suggest teins or genuine nismo stuff as its the only shocks made to suit stagea.
  21. sounds great, only question is how you plan to get back to the gateway from mount mee?? theres alot of roadworks on the northside. id wanna check out the dayboro rd down to petrie and out to the gateway. there was roadworks in that area last time i was out there
  22. i got a set with 5 working. get both and have 3 spares.
  23. if you dont find one in sydney i have one in brisbane.
