  1. So Im pulling up the other day and putting the hand-brake-that-is-really-a-foot-brake on and feel a bit more resistance. I look down and see an orange wire has looped down too far and become disconnected from the immense tange above it. I've no clues as to where is plugs in, anyone have any ideas?
  2. Since I don't particularly want my discs machined, I'm going to be doing this today Is there an easy way to do it, or does the socket set get a workout?
  3. I heard (before I got my H.I.Ds(I sell them now)) that 10000k was pretty blue. For some fun, I ordered extra bulbs (15000k was the highest I got - the highest I can get hold of is 30000k) After playing around with all of them I can say that even the 15000k bulbs are not really blue. Furthermore, no HIDs are going to give you 'pure' blue headlights[they wouldn't be any use while driving anyway] They do go up in strength all the way to ultraviolet, but bear in mind that the transition is slow There is not a lot of visual colour difference between the 6000k and 10000k, the 10000k appear brighter (they are) but they don't project as far on the road. 6000k are probably your best bet, since they remain useful (better than halogens!!) and are a nice clean white. Be careful though, because some police don't like them
  4. 12000k is purplish but still very white. To look at directly they are piercing bright, but it's all about the PENETRATION (heh) Uber bright they may be, but anything above 6000k is near useless for driving in the dark as the light doesn't go as far.
  5. Excellent, Excellent Should have done a DIY guide to go with it though. I like it, it's different, but still tasteful Oddy Man approves!
  6. Yeah I'm in Kal. Drove all over the southwest over Christmas, hit town 2 days ago, just before it started. S'funny, between Southern Cross and Coolgardie I was thinking "wow, there's lots of vegetation here"
  7. Could have been fun, although there's quite a large fire between me and Perth
  8. Any excuse to have a front yard full of hotted up Stageas Take photos if it's a good turnout!! Hrm... Where abouts is 'Swinging Pig' then?
  9. Silk screening you say... I was going to traipse around to all the sign companies but I think I'll play hypotheticals with them first, to prevent me from pulling everything out for nothing. I'll see what I can do about fining silkscreeners, since the city I'm in only has 30k people, and Im 600km from the nearest capital. Cheers 260tech, very helpful!
  10. I would have thought it was just a standalone bit of coloured material with holes for needles etc. The lights shine from behind it (not attached) don't they? Excuse the nube questions
  11. Clicky This isn't my engine bay (I'm pretty sure this car is wrecked anyway) but it'll do for the purpose of discussion. It is the 'bog standard' rb25det as it were. It's just the timing sensor and black belt cover it's sitting on that I'm worried about
  12. Generally, the higher the Kelvin, the brighter they are but the less penetration of light. The new BMWs you see getting around have 4800k sets, and are for lack of better explanation a 'step up' from halogens. I have 6000k in my car, and they are superb (true white, with the faintest of blue tinge), mind you my friend (owns an r33, bloody plastic light covers) has the same, but they don't look as bright The fact that your work means that they are plugged in correctly, it might just be that your globes burn cooler or something. We even installed a set of 12000k with little difference. They only really go purplish around 30000k and eventually they go ultraviolet. But I digress, 6000k are more than enough for near everyone. Be careful with the higher ones, since the police don't seem to like them (they're illegal in W.A at least) Handy hint: if your plastic headlight covers are yellowing and scratched, give them a rub with some metal polish, they'll come up heaps better
  13. I realise that, but I drive a Stagea, which is only a little bit different in the dash, ( but enough to make things difficult) plus I'm sure they wouldn't have gold ones with Doraemon appliques on them are they just make of thin plastic or what? Like - could they easily be copied?
  14. Jeebus, it's only 5:95 now? Seems 5% on the front wheels does huge things to keep the car balanced. Oh well, I still lub it!
  15. Obviously you can get coloured dash gauge mat thingers for nearly every car (speedo/odo/fuel etc) I heard somewhere that in the case of you not finding what you want/being cheap you can just have your old ones reprinted in different colours by the local sign-guy (just on clear plastic/paper?) Is this possible? I hope this makes sense. I'd try it myself but pulling my dash apart isn't very appealing if there's going to be no love.
  16. G'day I'm thinking it's time to splash some paint in the engine bay, namely coil pack cover and ?timing belt? cover I don't want to jump ahead and rip the timing sensor off though, because I'm thinking it may be a pain in the arse to put back on Methods/Ideas? Is it easy enough to do?
  17. aww, and here I had drift plans after buying a Torque split controller!
  18. Excellent - cheers I thought the drive bias was more like 40:60 though?
  19. Hey all Sometimes I notice (and it's only ever when the engine is warm/been boosting) a slight lurching/chugging front-back when I'm maintaining a constant speed (usually when revs are low ~1500-2000rpm) As soon as the foot goes down its all good. When I bought it they told me they had replaced one (why just one?) coil pack cause it was cracked. Could it be that the rest are poo as well?
  20. Is it Hi-Cas or what? What does it do??? Also, what does the snow button do?
  21. Last night on the way home from work I noticed a slight shudder while driving (going about 90km) and grew slightly concerned. Jump to this morning, get in the car and go to the shops, all good. Get in to go home and the car shudders like mad from about 30km/h up Needless to say it was a distressing drive home indeed. Ideas? *Sniff* Poor Staggerer
  22. pics? or just get a nudge bar
  23. Yeah I heard the hearse thing the other day Never occured to me til then
  24. I understand that they're illegal in some states or there are different safety specs or something... I don't know details but just have a look into it first
  25. that's real tidy thumbs up for you Hard to fault - nice, clean lines win!
