Lupes' Hr31 Gts-x
NZM.031 replied to Lupes's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
yeh it could be a shock/spring issue.. blown shocks will be rough on bumpy roads, feeling like its a stiff spring issue, but they go soft and unpredictable when loaded up through a corner, but it could be too stiffer spring for the shock. if the front is too stiff, it will not allow any weight transfer to load up the front grip and can make the front a bit skatey.. ive had an experience on my r33 gtst a few years ago where the tyre direction completly changed the front grip.. the tyres (which were not cheapies) had been running backwards since they got put on.. one night i decided id had enough of people pointing this out to me, so i swapped them over so they were running the right way.. well.. went out for a bit of a strap and my god.. it was woeful.. hitting the same corner as i always had, it just would not steer.. i changed the tyres back to how they were.. and it was all back to normal.. wierdest thing id ever experienced. best bet is to save and get brand new coilovers or spring/shock combo.. a mate of mine has BC coilovers (height and damper adj) in his semi slicked, vf34 equipped rex.. weve driven it hard fairly often and not had a problem for 3 years... given that they only cost him $1200 + $600 to get them properly set up and aligned by a guru, its been a pretty good investment. getting 2nd hand ones, you are unsure of the quality.. degreaser and aluminium cleaner do wonders for blown coilovers.. you assume they are good, just rough because they are stiff. they are reasonably compliant for normal driving. much better than G4's or D2's etc. also look into getting some pinapples or cradle bushes.. you need to tighten the back up so its not throwing around and upsetting the weight transfer. -

what do you mean about the front swaybar?? how are you let down by it?? if you want the car to become more lively around corners maybe you should do the rear swaybar... this brings on more of on oversteer character which, for me, suits my driving style.. i like to feel the tail and control it rather than wonder what the front will do. you may also need a bit more front camber... but your castor rods will tidy that up a little bit. p.s. in regards to your spacer remark... they are no more a defect than adj. pillow ball type castor rods, or 17x9 wheels when the originals are 15x7. and ive not heard of many accidents being caused by proper bolt on type spacers... they are no different to having more meat on the inside of your wheel face to push the offset out when they are bolted up snug and tight. -
is it bedded in yet?? sounds sick!! i love it

does anyone know if San products are still available in aus?? thanks birds... i might give one a try this season and see how it goes.. they always seemed to be a rip off compared to the same brand in a whey powder i used to go on cutting diets after my winter weight gain.. low carb kinda thing for a few weeks.. by the second week i get incredible cravings for sweets that are almost unstoppable... a bag of jelly beans or m&ms will be your friend though. if powder creatine makes you bloated... does to me.. try the capsules.. they worked a treat for me.. great kick... enhanced training.. think its just a placebo but eh... if it works. the muscletech muscle stack is a good combo... i had good gains with it a few years back. Rafa comment is too funny... hahahaha.

yeh i do, im undecided whether i want to go down the s13 non hicas route, or just use a hicas bar. how much were you looking to pay for it? -
so your saying youve never owned, or will own, anything but your r32?? have a bit of fun with your 32, but you need to experience (and i dont mean a quick drive) all that many other cars have to offer before you can decide if one is right for you.. i love my r32.. and im having fun building it.. but im glad i owned 2 V8 holdens to really appreciate how good skylines are.

while im here, i want to ask a question about Mass Gainers. anyone actually used em?? from what i can see via the ingredients and contents of them... the only difference of them over a normal whey powder is the serving size. 5 scoops instead of 2 scoops. the amounts of protein, carbs, etc is the same per 100g.. but per serving size it appears as much more.. but thats because the serving size is much more.

i do.. i go all out for the few months over autumn and winter.. and then tend to burn out in spring.. the constant eating and training bums me out and i cant be bothered.. so i pretty much cease all forms of training over the summer.. lose what i put on the previous winter, and start all over again in autumn. its a visicous cycle. last year though i struggled to touch a weight. with buying a house and setting it up, the gym stuff has been moved from inside to garage, to back inside and barely a weight lifted all year.. on a positive note.. i did alot of swimming and i hung my heavy bag up over the weekend. its the start of autumn today, and im super keen.. im lean as at the moment, and 70kg. by spring i hope to be back up around 80kg and stay there! my focus this year is chest/tri's and calves. they are really lagging and getting me down.

El Ef Thermos Or Au? Whats The Difference?
NZM.031 replied to DriftSquad's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i had some EL ones... actually i still have them if you want some to fit up. the problem is the r32 p/s line that sticks forward of the pump.. it hits hard up against the fan body.. pushing the fan into the radiator.. i got away with it by only using one fan until i modified the line.. which was as simple as undoing it and turning it around a little bit. i had no real dramas with cooling either.. i cut the shroud up and it fit the r32 radiator perfectly.. pm me if you want the fans.. $30 and $15 postage eh?? good condition, with a bit of shroud modification. -
my feelings are that the spirit of the car is contained inside the original engine.. so keep the 20. the 20 may lack low down power... but who cares... you want low down?? get a commodore.. 4k to 8k is where its at and thats what the 20 will love to do.. as Ash as said... define fast?? do you want to use 100% of 150kw?? or use 30% of 500kw?? also... real "fast" around a track is felt in the corners... i rode in a v8 supercar not long ago.. and sure the straight line speed and out of corner punch were fun... but not much more to a mildly modified evo... but the g forces experienced under braking and around the corners were phenomenal!! its easier and much more fun to drive a slow car to the limit... than to have to hold back in a more powerful car.

in the common tongue it reads: Have you ever wondered what it is you are here to do? How your body is built and how your mind is wired? What can you do that no other can? Imagine going through life never knowing, letting others decide your fate. Imagine having the gift of life and not knowing what to do with it, for that is a tragedy much worse than death. I do not fear death, for all great stories must come to an end, what I fear is life without the ability to live. When your day comes and you are faced with the creator, will you thank him… or will you ask “why was I here?” This time is given to you, what will you do with it? a few years ago i got really bad depression.. manic depression they call it.. imagine sitting inside your head, watching yourself have arguments with yourself, but from a 3rd person.. like watching your parents have a really bad argument.. you cant stop it, and you want to yell and scream.. this is like my mantra... i think it to myself to get me through.. to live everyday like its your last.. and be thankful for all that you have.. i got it in ink, because thoughts, especially in my head, get shot down, pushed to the back, or clouded by other less important thoughts.. this is a way of materialising that thought.. it can never be taken away from me or clouded over. it is not just inside my head anymore, it is a part of me.

thanks mate. 4 hrs in total from walking in to walking out... and because the font is not cursive... each letter had to be done individually. i just grit my teeth and kept thinking "its only pain.. it hurts, but it wont kill me" ahhh next one... well... i said this would be my only one... but ive already got many ideas.. i would love to get a portrait of my 2 dogs done somewhere.. i thought about one on each trap... but ill have to build my traps up much more for that.

damn, cant believe you have to sell mate.. good luck with it.

Massive R32 Gtst Parts Sale!

demister vents sold. middle vent pending GreenR32gtr... i do have the lhs vent.. its in good nick.. reverse lights no good sorry... one is cracked. also guys... i got some of the interior bits out today, they are not as good as i thought, the dash pad has a bubble on the lhs of the instrument cluster.. and a gauge has been placed on top of the instrument cluster.. not what id consider perfect.. the carpet has a hole where your lh heel is. and the boot trim, although good.. has a few stains that werent visible when in the car. i removed the interior at 2am and didnt give it a 2nd look.. put it straight under covers and stored it away. so check with me if you want some interior bits and ill give it a good check over before telling you its good to sell. cheers
