  1. very true... but the price of tickets can also be an indicator of the quality of the event.. $10 and id expect to see a club level event... with no stands, no pits, no spectators, etc.. and i would brush it off as such and it wouldnt be worth the effort to go to... for me its a 2.5hr drive atleast to any race track. $50-$100 id expect to see some top cars, top teams, kind of thing you see in japan.. i was dumbfounded when i saw the cheap sau tickts were $15... then i saw the normal tickets were only $20. i was full expecting to pay around $50.
  2. as time attack grows in popularity.. it will get bigger, and better. it was a shame that on the sunday there were bugger all spectators. and $15-$20 is a bit cheap... id happily pay $50 - $100 if the facilities and amenities were good, i.e had some sort of shade and the toilets were in good nick.. seriously, you pay some rich music star $100 to watch them perform.. how are we meant to get another race track built if all they charge to a once a year event like superlap if they charge $20 to watch some of the top cars from the top companies rack it out for one hot lap. im even thinking about building a car to have a bit of fun at this event when they find a place for next year.. its acheivable and there arent as many ghey regulations as with other track events.. no doubt that cams will soon put their foot down.. and it will become a controlled thing.. which is what turns me off getting into any form of motorsport. the only regulation in the open and pro class really is tyres. which are street legal semi slicks.. so its effectivley a race car that you can drive on the street which is why i went to watch this event.. every day cars, with unlimited suspension and engine mods, on every day tyres, racing around to get one hot lap.. its much better than watching a controlled group of same make cars racing for 20 laps.. conserving tyres and fuel etc. and restrictions on high power cars to make it even for low power cars. i think it can only get bigger from here as it as alot of action for everyone, not every one likes drift, and the majority of people who do it cant afford to buy stuff from the show stands anyway so there is little business there... and not everyone likes circuit racing because those cars are in a completly different class to your average road car.. superlap, or time attack is all or nothing.. big budget, high hp cars, that can be driven to and from the track. cheers Linton edit* as long as they keep those farrrking ghey mongrel v8's out of it. then it will turn to shit*
  3. man up... holesaw out!
  4. congratulations... im in the same boat mate... we just bought our own house... 14k is alot, and alot of banks now will give you 95% so its a perfect time to buy... also after june, those banks will only give 80% of the loan. renting is dead money.. so i may be paying off interest for 20 years... but it beats paying someone elses interest
  5. keep your friends close and your enemies closer
  6. good stuff mate.. its sad that its the majority of the population that watch this crap and the minority that see through it. "never argue with an idiot... they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience"
  7. thats what i thought... and im assuming it doesnt come with the gauge.. as its not shown... id have to buy it seperatly.
  8. is that keeping with the hpi records of cars with treaded street legal radial tyres??
  9. spotted FR.33.SH yesterday arvo at hunter st lights.. could barely see it through the rain.. r33 gtst with hunter thomas sticker on the window.
  10. sooo how does this bad boy work?? i mean... where does it tell you what the afr is... do i need to get a seperate gauge etc. or does this plug into a lap top?? i would like it to keep an eye on my safc tune and be able to change it on the road, for different temperatures, fuels, etc.
  11. this after installing them, later on i recessed them in a bit further, tinted them and put mesh over the holes. its a 400r front bar, but i didnt want the ghey round indicators in the uprights, they look terrible
  12. hes done a good job... but seriously... unless your interior is stripped.. carbon fibre just doesnt fit in.. like his steering wheel... how stupid would that look... a shiny airbag cover with a dull black wheel..
  13. good stuff mate... sooo... shall we see 9 secs on nittos anytime soon?
  14. spotted you this morning at sandgate.
  15. rodeo ute, vz ss ute, vz crewman, ke55 corolla, and my civic or the 32.... how exciting!!!
  16. nuh huh... like yew r n stuff... n like yew wish.
  17. standard rotors will be fine... yes, and in overall braking performance, rotors dont actually increase braking... what they do is remove gas and heat buildup much better and constantly clean the pads.. chucking a set of rotors on and heading down the street you'll stuggle to notice an improvement, its only under long hard braking from high speeds to slow speeds when the brakes just feel like theyve stopped working.
  18. very few aftermarket parts are "legal" nissan and nismo, toyota and trd etc. parts are so expensive because they are all adr tested and comply with any regulations etc. they have to cover the cost of testing and r&d so they charge $130... then someone in china gets the nissan part and makes a cheap knock off, with no testing etc. and sells it for $20. all the aftermarket company has to do is have a tiny warning on the packaging saying "off road or race use only" or "check legality in your state" and they are covered. almost every modification you make is illegal.
  19. all this talk about vipecs, motecs, ho-tecs, etc... they all got nothin on the bass-o-matic.. i pity the fool who uses anything else.
  20. "thats gold, jerry!.... GOLD!"

  22. hks sr20 have hks on them.
  23. i got some slimline ones and put them in the nostrils... and then tinted them.. you could hardly tell, and they were completly legal.
  24. well they dont say VORK made by RAVS engineering, thats a good start, to get the actual VOLK stickers would be a massive pain in the arse and not worth it to do it on a non volk rim, just to look like volks, i tried to get new decals for my work meisters.... 16kg is a reasonable weight... not heavy by any means.
