  1. all tie rod ends are adjustable... thats how you change the toe settings on your front wheels. the ones from just jap would be the better option over the autobarn ones... they have pillowballs in them meaning reducing movement in the tie rod ball and giving a more direct steering feel.. but it will be harsher. i really cant see how the just jap ones are adjustable in any other way than winding them in or or out on the tie rod.. unless you can wind the ball end out of the little housing, so you can wind the housing further on the tie rod if you have steering lock spacers to increase steering lock...
  2. keep your standard calipers... i had race brakes RB74 pads in my r33 gtst and had dba 4000 series rotors and replaced the fluid with repsol competition stuff.. i didnt track it, but i would do the putty rd nearly once a month.. they did the job pulling the beast up from silly speeds coming into tight corners, never had brake fade... minimal dust and noise.. and always had a good pedal feel. drove a mates rex down the putty to superlap on sunday and it stuggled after a few corners... the fluid would boil and lose braking feel, pedal would go to the floor.. it has semi slick tyres and they were overpowering the brakes..
  3. ive done it and its a job best done with the head off, or manifold off, or engine out.. there are some real pricks that arent so hard, but you cant get pliers etc in there to remove the clamps.. removing the hicas solenoid might make it a bit easier..
  4. yeh where were you paul?? was looking forward to seeing you guys down there.
  5. the evos were flying.. makes me want one... they were shooting out of the final corner faster than any other car there.. they just couldnt match the punch down the straight. cant wait to see the 34 with the fronts hooked up if thats the case. does it have a name yet??
  6. i have a tiny clip of it but unknowns to me it was about to pull into the pits... so its worthless. speaking of sounding great down the straight.... what the hell was wrong with the Gracer r33??? it sounded terrible.
  7. congrats on your efforts at superlap guys.. well done, was the highlight of the day car looked, sounded and went awesome.. and the sponser stickers were applied well... didnt take away from the car at all... good to see all the hard work and $$ paid off in the end. didnt look like oran park suited it though.... kinda like it just had too much power and spent most of the time either lighting em up or washing off acceleration.. maybe on a flatter track like tsukuba it would be a force to be reckoned with... sooo whens it going on the boat?? cheers Linton
  8. i have a side mount you can borrow, but im in newy.. and would need it back in case same thing happens to me. i stay away from the forshore because mines just a driving defect.
  9. change of plans unfortunatly... i cant make it... my 32 is being a drama queen and i dont feel comfortable thrashing it down the putty.. ive got a ride with a mate in his car but he wants to leave earlier.. doesnt look like it was going to be a big cruise anyway. if anyone does go... i hope they have fun.
  10. this thing needs chrome decals in nice fonts.... like the knight sports cars.. when will aussie workshops get cool logos and workshop names.... spose ill consider red r racing as a cool logo.
  11. was it burgandy?? that would be paul thomas's weapon of mass destruction... at hunter thomas automotive. hey ian... whats happening mate... still got your 33?? cheers Linton
  12. yeh it depends what you want it for.. for a good all round bike... you cant go past the vtr 250's.. if you want something a bit bigger.. a hyosung 650 is pretty good looking bike... and good for large riders.. for the ultimate thrill though... get an aprilia RS125... same story as cagiva mito.. sooo much fun. and quick little buggers. but hard to ride in traffic due to riding position.. light weight.. thirsty.. noisy.. smokey.. and nothing below 6000rpm... but it makes up for it in sheer thrills. if you are doing lots of traffic on it... get a big dirt bike... like a 400+ WR, and motard it... the massive torque will punch you through gaps in traffic before the gap even opens up... and the riding position is more upright and you can see for miles.. with smaller road wheels and good tyres.. it will out handle many sports bikes and will be alot of fun.
  13. it could work... if you were to go in and trade in your 1990 vn bomb, in any condition, on another vehicle, new or up to 10 years old, and the government had a scheme that gave the dealer $3 or 4000 on any trade in over 10 years old that was then passed on to you in the form of money off your new purchase.. i suppose it could work.. but it should be 20 years, not 10 years... i consider a 1999 model to be quite a reasonable age... a 1999 model commodore is anywhere from $6000 to $10000... $3000 off this would make it acheievable for a family to trade in their old car and get something a little bit newer.. $3000 off a $40000 makes stuff all difference... $3000 off $10000 makes alot of difference. cheers Linton
  14. truck tyre place will do it no probs... all they need is a good air compressor for blowing the beads onto truck tyres.. i got some 235s on 17x9.5s and they werent a drama. ive had stretched tyres before and have a never had an issue with safety etc. why fit aftermarket rims in the first place if your going to fit ones that fit with the correct size tyre for the correct size on the tyre placard?? why modify your car at all?? any modification is deemed illegal and unsafe without an engineers cert.. so we should all stick to the rules and keep our cars as nissan intended... to be safe and legal of course. judging by the car in his sig... if thats it... it doesnt look very pathetic to me.. no more pathetic than a bright blue tiny track car.. not having a go... just saying each to his own.. its not like he wants to fit blinged up 20" wheels.
  15. i paid $300 for my shitter... $600 to rego it.. have been driving it everyday for over a year now.. have checked tyre pressures and oil in that time... and washed it twice.. its 3 years older than my 32 and has not given me a single problem.. the 32 has given me shitloads of problems.. i wouldnt part with my shitter for $6000. this will make it in because its a dumb scheme... like the baby bonus... any normal person can see it wont work.. and its the idiots who reckon it will work that are the majority.. lets have a kid to get $3000, dont worry that it costs $50000 a year to support it... and now lets scrap our car to get $3000 and go buy booze and just walk around.
  16. $200 for the catch can?? you serious?? you can get a brand new cusco item for $150-$180. the toe arm is a castor arm. and the engine damper will fit s13s as skylines have 2 holes in the strut top whereas s13 etc has 3 holes good price for the turbo and those superlites look fat as
  17. stuff painting it.. rip it out.. no dash is a good dash.. what was wrong with it black?? looks neat and tidy and everything else ties in... now you're gonna have to go over everything.. seats, boots, knobs, handles, surrounds, etc. so it doesnt look out of place it'll look like a kids play area... looks better than white though.. but doesnt look as refined as the stock black.
  18. change of plans... we'll turn off the highway at the golden hway turnoff just before singleton.. fark going all the way through broke.. its a nice drive, but way longer. cheers Linton
  19. roger dodge.
  20. i had some racebrakes rb74 pads on my gtst and they were great... had 267rwkw. i had dba 4000 series rotors and no dramas... i didnt do any track work.. but my car went up and down the putty rd at least once a month.
  21. new fandangle honda mower and whipper snapper ... mrs said its gotta go to house stuff... shes buying a dyson... so ill get some new toys... they may not be the power fc that i want.. but they have engines, make noise, and live in the garage... so all good.
  22. just made the transfer for my 2 tickets.. also can you check on my membership... i made the payment and faxed the form last week but havent heard anything...
  23. and get a spin turn knob.. makes 3 point turns effortless.
  24. i know they are a completly different grade of tyre but a mate of mine has falken azenis rt215s on his wrx.. has had them on for over a year now and they are still in excellent condition.. it isnt a daily driver... so it doesnt rack up many kms... but when it does come out it gets a good thrash.. if he gets 2 years out them, that makes it $500 a year for the best upgrade yet.. money well spent.
