try 7-10k mate.. that should net you a reasonable one.. a gtst is the turbo model.. the one you want is a gts, which is the non turbo variant.. but id wait until you can get a gtst.. there are better cars to get on your p's and you have to learn to crawl before you can walk.. honda's are unreal little naturally aspirated cars... the engines scream and are reliable as.. r32s are a great car... i have one... but they are 15 - 20 years old now and things are falling apart and failing from years of thrashing.. you will have to spend money on it and it will fail every now and again... its not really worth spending money on a gts. for the price of an r32 gts... you could have a 1990 honda civic... with a rebuilt b16a.. it would tromp just about anything.. its all about power to weight, and traction.

hey guys, heres the plan.. Leave Hexham Maccas at 7.30am. Meet Singleton guys at Broke at around 8.30am Head via the Putty road to Oran Park Arrive at Oran Park in time to collect prepaid tickets from SAU gurus at 10.30-10.45 Watch Superlap. Head home via the same route... the latest id like to leave is 4-4.30... that will get us home to newi at around 7pm... making it a full 12hr day. its up to you how you want to leave and when.. but im sure there will still be a group of us coming home together... each person can organise their own tickets. heres the link for prepaid tickets: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ch...ap-t260527.html and heres the link for a map http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source...amp;t=h&z=9 there arent many places to get fuel so fill up before you come.. and i havent planned any food stops... so up to you what you do for food... we'll stop at the halfway house for a drink and a rest both times. its a fairly straight run down the putty, through windsor, and head for signs that say campelltown or picton. hope to see you all there. Cheers Linton

the way my 32 is at the moment dave, i may just need a tow vehicle.... spose your ute could do that... haha. heres a quick map http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source...amp;t=h&z=9 as you can imagine, the time would be significantly improved as google would be taking it at signposted speeds.. plus if we leave early.. there will be bugger all traffic. might be time to move this to the events section

Newcastle And Central Coast Skyline Spotted Thread
NZM.031 replied to -Jimmy-'s topic in New South Wales
saw the infamous bakes this morning outside shell at the junction... was gonna wave but was in the shitter... and noone in an r34 gtr wants to be waved at by someone in a cancer filled civic.. hahaha. cheers Linton -
its in between the rear wheels... to remove, just bash it with a hammer... dont worry bout sockets and spanners... a hammer will work just fine. installation is just a reversal of removal.. just bash it back in with the same hammer.
-
what sort of bracing is required to keep the rigidity when doing this?? is it riveted or glued in?? cheers Linton
-
and why dont you have the gtr anymore dave??? huh?? huh?? yeh.. you just... yeh you know...
-
i might not even make it now... got a cracked rim and top control arm woes. wouldnt be a drama except ive just bought a house and have 0 on the dollar front.
-
whats wrong with the sr20?? if i had time and fundage... id consider putting one in my 32... but i dont like engine swaps like that.. but imagine the lightweight engine... mounted as close to the firewall as possible, with a lowmount turbo.. the weight would be behind the front wheels and with the skyline chassis and double wishbone front end... it would be pretty good on the twisties. and they sound tuff. nothing like an rb though.

having modified every car ive ever owned, even the shitters and dailys... ill always start with a stocker and build it into something thats just what i want.. it gives you something to do, something to look forward to and something to be proud of in the end. you get to take a standard car and make it better by fitting better components, adding adjustments, etc. without losing the spirit of the original car buying someone elses car will never be like building your own, it will always be theirs... your just driving it now, unless youve had a hand in the build, you wont know what exactly has gone into such a car, and i dont mean component wise. it also shows that you're not interested in the build, in the processes that a car goes through to get to a stage, in the highs and lows, the friendships, the emotions, the whole thing. you just want a fast car without putting in the hard yards. wheres the respect and pride in that? thats why people hate buying a modified car. *thats not directed at you as a personal attack... just a conceived notion* cheers Linton

oooooooooooooooo........ challenge!!! c'mon paul... do it for the RB26.. do it for all the authentic GTR's out there. N1GTR, in the words of the great Fast and the Furious, "Be prepared to have your ass handed to you!"

Hicas Light Comes On And Off Irregular
NZM.031 replied to shyskyline's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
remove the globe... and check your p/s fluid. from what i can tell... the light gets brighter as your fluid leaks out, well mine does... when the resovoir is empty the light will be brighter. -
gday mate, welcome back. fit your coilovers first... then set it so the lowest point is 100mm off the ground... no dramas with engineer then. there are a few people on here that can tun a pfc... but probs best to take it to a workshop that deals with them, it wont take long to do a safe tune if they know what they are doing... remove the hand controller before taking it to the engineer. i have a kakimoto 4" exhaust that is not very loud at all... has a nice note but can be covered by turning up the stereo a bit.. good quality japanese "street or sports" exhausts are excellent quality with a good note.. only the "race" exhausts are loud as. 90 decibels is a pretty easy feat in a skyline. i have no idea of people in the shire whom you could take your car to. cheers Linton
-
could also be timing or air flow meter.. timing may be retarding itself due to incorrect readings from other sensors.. the turbo will still be boosting as normal.. just the engine will de tune itself. it may also have an intake leak... check over all of your cooloer pipes etc. the gutless rb20 mixed with an rb25 turbo should pull really well coming on boost.. it should be really noticable.

Std Exh Manifold. Is It Worth Changing?
NZM.031 replied to CrankyGTS11's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i too got a cheap one, but it was an ebay bargain so i wasnt too worried.. but i could never get it to sit flush as it kept warping.. i machined the face a few times until it got too thin to machine anymore.. i did notice that it was smoother through the rev range, and the note changed a little... but unless i win the lotto, ill be sticking with the standard one. ill be removing mine soon to do the studs and gaskets... will give it a lick of heat paint and possibly wrap it. -
what is the crack going to be subjected to?? coolant?? combustion etc?? very few people will be able to successfully weld it up if its wet.. they need to be completly dry and clean to weld. you could try some devcon... i used it on my radiator for 4 months, its still holding, ive just replaced it since.

im not sure as there wasnt a great deal of interest when i first posted this, but its getting close and im still keen. this isnt for superlap contenders... this just an idea for an early morning cruise, down the putty, to watch some of our mates racing around... the earlier we leave, the more we get to watch, and get to pick what time we wish to cruise home.. rather than leaving at say 10 or 11am and getting there at 1pm or 2pm, we will leave at 6, 7, or 8am and get there at 9, 10, or 11am... watch it for a bit, then leave at 3ish and be home in newy by 6ish. i meant to ring the organisers and find out how much it is for spectator entry.. but ive been lazy. cheers Linton
