  1. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/con...tion/index.html thats the link i was reading from, it doesnt say anything there about rally rego, or an age limit to vehicles, it just says purpose built and recreational vehicles.... i think drifting is a recreational sport isnt it?? anyways, thanks for your input guys, any more help would be appreciated. basically the 31 is going to be a monster NA RB30, its more something for me to tinker with than drive...thats just what i do. but id still like to be able to drive it on cruises, to drift days, etc. its an 87' which isnt much older or classical than a vh commonwhore. anyways, ill try and find out as much as i can. cheers Linton
  2. hey all, was talking to a mate the other day and he was getting his VH burnout/drag car conditionally registered, through the street machines club that he is in, meaning that his fully prepared street drag vh can be driven on the road, on sundays, no blue slip, no eng. cert. this is how things like lawnmowers, tractors, forklifts, old cars etc. can be driven on the road. im thinking of doing this with my r31 as i dont drive it except for weekends and would be so much easier to deal with the law enforcement as they basically cant do shit from what ive heard, as i want to make the thing a pig can we get this through the sau club?? or does anyone know how we can get sau in the game so we can do this. cheers Linton
  3. wooooooooooot!!! congrats guys, awesome awesome looking and performing car. question.... do you guys have an engineers cert or conditional rego or are just hoping you dont get pulled up?? if so how did you go about getting it on the road?? cheers Linton
  4. hey mate, i had a uas box.... but got sick of it, so i made my own out of 2mm aluminium, using the uas design but improving it to make install/removal easier... i then started to make them for other people.. i havent had a chance to make any at the moment as ive been flat out doing other things... hopefully once i sell the car ill have more time on my hands to make them again. they take a bit of work, but look super neat and are really easy to install. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...500&ppuser=4164 price is $130 or $140 delivered. if your interested let me know, ill get off my arse and make some. cheers Linton
  5. hey guys i havent made any for a while, ive had sooo many hassles with my car lately that i havent been able to or wanted to... now ive got defected and i have to do heaps of running around to clear it.. they didnt defect the box though, even though it was the first dodgy template i did.. not the good one i usually have. when i get all this cleared up and have nothing to worry about on the car or even better if ii sell it, ill be back into making them, they fit no worries with standard or fmic plumbing...as it will either go back to the standard pipes, or go over the radiator... it just means an extra hole or not. cheers Linton
  6. just do it, dont be a wuss. it would look fat as, aslong as the car is quick with a tough looking kit, and then get some black vinyl stickers made up and put all over the car. so the only part that is glossy is your shopping list down the doors... get a big g/f gt wing, and a c/f bonnet, and some bronze volks, pure racing style....would look awesome. i wouldnt want to race anything that has gone to that much trouble to make it not stand out.... the r32 looks unreal, but the 180 looks like primer, it needs bigger rims and bolt on flares.
  7. you could always flare the guards. dont lower it, get bolt on guards as they put the wheel arch in a lower position out further, and then get a deep deep kit like a bn sports or something to give the impression that its dumped. i too have found the wider rims/increased track better for drift, making the wheel track wider helps to stop spinning, makes it a bit harder to kick out, but easier to hold out there. i have 18x8+30 and 18x9+35 with 1.5" dish on the front and about 2.5" dish on the rear, i always wanted to step up to 9 and 10" wide, but decent 2nd hand tyres are hard to come across in anything bigger than a 235 which barely fits a 9" rim. cheers Linton
  8. close my eyes when filling up... that simple. my daily takes over 80L diesel to fill up.... good thing i only have to do it once a month.... since fuel prices have gone up, i let the glow plugs warm up properly so it doesnt use too much fuel when starting. theres no use complaining, everyone needs fuel... cheers Linton
  9. hey all, im after a bootlid with the wing removed preferably burgandy, for an r33 gtst. will swap for burgandy bootlid with GTR wing, slight damage to bootlid from trying to remove wing, the wing has a slight crack in it also... can be fixed. cheers Linton

  11. hey guys i couldnt get a reco standard turbo, i couldnt get a reco hiflow... what i did get, was a TO4!!! im nearly finished installing it, along with a new stainless manifold and dump pipe. will get it tuned once the thing is running. price is bumped up to $20000 now as its got 12 months rego on it now aswell cheers Linton
  12. hey guys, after blowing my standard turbo, i picked up a modified garret t04 and a few other bits and pieces... my problem comes in the way of the oil feed banjo connection to the turbo... the original bolt has a 12mm thread diameter, however the turbo has a 10mm thread diameter... has anyone else encountered this?? what did you do?? what are my options?? anyone know where i can get a line other than horsepower in a box?? im not sure if there lines have the different thread. cheers Linton
  13. you can hear it... slight pinging can sound like a wind noise... bad pinging is really obvious... sounds like 2 spoons clapping together... cheers Linton
  14. megiuars make it aswell... i cant find a link for it though. id take a pic, but its at my g/fs house, where i wash the car... either stuff will do the job though. cheers Linton
  15. thats what happened to mine... the bleed valve hose blew off and oil went everywhere.... checked compression... all good, so off came the turbo... there was an enourmous amount of oil through the intercooler and all the piping. ruined the plugs and made it cough and splutter real bad. cheers Linton
  16. meguiars back to black... its awesome and designed for this type of thing. its absorbed into the rubber, unlike armor all and the like which sits on top of the rubber. cheers Linton
  17. hey bass junky, im gonna have to pull out also... i am fitting a to4 and the standard pipe wont fit so ill make up a new one. cheers Linton
