yeh i know the bottom pic looks better dave, but its much harder to get a nice fold. you must remember also that the other pic is photoshopped. it will look much better than it does there. if you want the bottom pic, it requires more labour and more tidy up work. yeh the screws wont come loose. they havent ever for me, they arent under any stress or movement, so i dont see why they would. but anyway, they wont come loose. cheers Linton

fmic. definatly, you'll have to do it before you go exploring bigger turbos and more boost. it should be considered a must have, like the exhaust. an ecu may get you bang for buck, but it will need tuning, and will need re tuning with each further modification you do. ecu should be the last thing you do with the stock turbo. i dont rate them but alot of people are using the hybrid coolers and not having a problem. i fitted one to a mates 180...the actual core is good, but i've had to go through and replace all the silicon joiners and hose clamps on it. cheers Linton

hey guys. had a few dramas with these boxes.... the lids are so damn hard to fold neatly. ive come up with a new design, let me know what you think. if it does or doesnt worry you. ill be using counter sunk allen head screws, so they sit flush with the top, they will also be silver so they wont stand out. its just so hard to fold the edges over, doing it the other way means all i have to do is cut the shape out and bend some tabs over for mounting the lid. if you all want the original design, let me know, ill find another way to do it. cheers Linton

R31 wagon as a tow vehicle??
NZM.031 replied to NZM.031's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
the mazda is too light, ive got some bucket seats in it, im putting the 33 seats in it when i get some brides for it, but yeh, its just too light, it bounces and skips around. plus it is noisy and doesnt sit on 100 too well, let alone with a car behind it. nissan patrol eh?? hmm....might be able to bling it up a bit. put some 20's on it. haha -
when was the last time you saw any track car with a cannon?? that said though, when was the last time cops let you off with the exhaust coming out under the doors?? WRC cars do have a rear muffler, its more like a square box though i think, well it was last time i looked at one.

R31 wagon as a tow vehicle??
NZM.031 replied to NZM.031's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
i gotta drive it everyday to work...aswell as be able to drive it around without to much of a worry.... i guess i shoulda posted "can an R31 wagon tow a car"... it will be used max of twice a month, if that, to take the 33 to drift events in sydney, which is 3hrs away. i can go down via freeway...so its just a straight run once it gets moving. usually i go down via the putty road, but i cant see a trailer going through there. and OC, ive fitted man hayman reece towbars, and i wouldnt trust them for the life of me. their mounting systems are weak and in weird places...so many things could have been done better. cheers Linton -
R31 wagon as a tow vehicle??
NZM.031 replied to NZM.031's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
OC....my parents are not buying me this car. i only have limited $$ i can earn and play with, something around $3-5000 is about the max i can spend -
i think cannons are awesome...but when you can see the whole muffler from the side, its ghey, or when you can see a puny pipe going into it, its ghey. i think that Phat cars, as in supras and 33's that are wider than most, should have big tips. a puny tip on a big car looks out of place. a 6" tip on a supra looks just right, coz the car is so big. i like my cannon, im not a fan of straight pipe, it just doesnt do it for me...that said, shiny cannons dont do it for me either. i leave mine sooty, so it doesnt stand out, but it fills the hole in the rear bar. but you need a decent brand cannon to get a decent noise. cheers Linton

R31 wagon as a tow vehicle??
NZM.031 replied to NZM.031's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
i work at a Toyota dealership....i see cruisers everyday.....most tow horse floats. they are bumpy as all hell, noisy, and they dont handle well to begin with. an old 89' 75 series still sell for over $8000, any condition...these are due for diffs and gboxes too. utes are too impractical for me, i like to move things and have them inside the car... so i dont have to worry about tying them down a certain way, or have to worry about tarps and things when it rains. a van maybe a good thing, but the 2.4L diesels in the hiace's arent much chop, for anything. ive seen alot of commys and fords with their arses dragging... they would ride the same as a 31 loaded up id imagine. only thing is the different motors.... which id rather the rb30. cheers guys, keep the posts coming, i wanna know more. OC, if you get banned, you can still look at the site, just cant post. you can still find all the info you need, or email people that are in the know.... you'll find out who they are by reading posts... if only there was some sort of exam we could do, and that could dictate how much we are allowed to post and in what areas. but there is nothing stopping people from googling the questions and dodging it up anyway. im not an angry person, i rarely get angry. i dont care about anything negative, but this does shit me. cheers Linton -

ok guys, well i was hoping for schoona to represent himself and tell me why he posted what he did. but he didnt, he has seen the thread, but hasnt posted. so i will fill you in on the details. he pm'd me with a response similar to his first post, but a bit more elaborate. basically, schoona is claiming that i went to HIS mates page, and used one of the images from there AS MY OWN. and that he is mates with both guys and knows the 180sx well. this couldnt be further from the truth. the car in my sig is my own, driven by myself, Garage Debris, is my business, the s13 that is a nice street vehicle he mentions, is my close mates, whom ive done all the work for to acheive his 244rwkw over the 2 years he has owned the vehicle, he put those pics up on his website. this is the first trouble ive had with this kid, however he has been shit stirring on nissansilvia.com for a while now. he added himself to my mates msn, in which he blocked him straight away. i dont appreciate people, especially young people bull shitting like this, its wrong and their is no need for it. that is why the thread is titled stupid 15 yr olds, i just wanted to make a scene basically, and show that this kid has been caught out, and to warn other 15yr old kids against posting bullshit like this. cheers Linton -
go the rx7.... with the proper care and maintainance they will last aslong as any other engine... let them warm up and cool down properly... there is alot of rumours about the engines, ive heard it from a mazda mechanic that they are a really good strong engine. any engine needs rebuilds at 50000kms with the wrong driver punting it along. plus its a newer car, you've got some time up your sleeve before anything major happens, its something different, something awesome, gtr's are awesome... but my gtst looks like a gtr. goes similar to a gtr. the rx7 is a complete new world. cheers Linton

1979 BMW 2002 Alpina. 2L I4, twin webbers, extractors, monsterous cam, exhaust, springs and shocks.... stopped driving it because it had too much rust....it was awesome though 1981 Honda Prelude. painted it yellow, put a wang on it, put a wrx front bar on it, painted the 14" mags black. put in a slightly bigger cam, twin webbers, extractors, full exhaust. 1987 Nissan Skyline R31. loved this car. fully rebuilt motor, everything lightened and balanced, forged pistons, decked the head, port and polish, metal head gasket, Nizpro stg1 cam, pacemaker extractors, 3" catback exhaust, 300zx fuel pump, Wolf 3D ECU, stripped interior, stripped boot, KYB adjustable suspension. fully rebuilt LSD. heavy duty clutch. 2000 Subaru Liberty RX wagon, Lowered, 18" volks, nice stereo, cat back exhaust 1987 Ford Meteor wagon, daily driver, put some full sick wheel covers on it, dressed it up with jap stickers. drove the ringhole out of it. 1983 Mazda B2200 cab chassis. 2.2L diesel. goes like shit, rides look shit. looks mad. 16" rims off a pajero, low profile tyres and slightly lowered. its my current daily driver. am thinking of puttin a rotor in it and a nice sound system. now the 1995 Nissan Skyline R33 gtst, FMIC, full s/s exhaust, buzz spec coilovers, tuned SAFC, external fuel pump w/ surge tank, HKS ssqv (plumbed back), Top secret kit with 400R front bar, 18x9 Work meisters, some other things that i cant think of at the moment. cheers Linton

i call you a kid because you are a kid....you're 16.....you've experienced nothing of the real world, and it doesnt sound like you ever will if mummy and daddy will take care of you. im not saying ive done everything, but i dare say ive seen more than you have. being older might not make you smarter, but neither does having parents with money, or going to a fancy school, or driving a fancy car, or wearing fancy pants....its just that older people have had experience. when i was 16, i thought id never stop skateboarding, i was sponsered and doing well... i never thought id turn to hate my friends, and i never thought about what i wanted to do when i was older. my dad told me that soon id hang the board up, and id grow tired of my friends antics.... i wish i had've listened to him then. even though im only 5 yrs older, i know what its like to be all ages through 15-21... thats something only growing up can teach you. how i wish i were 14-15 again.....being older sucks. i think you shouldnt be given a golf at 16, so yes, wait till your 20. do a search on google, seems others have found info, why did you have to post up here that you parents want to buy you a golf. why not just post, what are golfs like? any specs?? why did you have to write that your parents are buying it for you, thats totally unnecessary....learn some tact. oh thats right, your only 16 rich boy, you have no tact.

hey guys... i am considering towing my 33 to the tracks from now on. i need a suitable vehicle that has the right amount of power/torque and is able to tow the car and trailer. but has to be comfy and be able to have all the equipment and parts thrown in it, and be used as a daily driver. i used to have a 00' liberty wagon, it was great for moving my toolboxes in, aswell as parts... but could barely tow a bike trailer. i now have a mazda b2200 diesel ute. it can tow, but its too light...and not comfy at all. i hate fords and holdens and will not drive one at all. i have fond memories of my old 31, it used to drive well, quick as, and fairly comfy, and i loved the sound. anyone had any experiences with the 31s and towing?? i realise the 31 may be under the weight limit of what im towing....but ive seen ppl do worse things. cheers Linton

im merely telling him this because things happen....i grew up riding dirt bikes and driving cars around my property. i wasnt aware that it had rained outside....brief strong shower while i was inside....it was night, so i couldnt see the difference in the road. crap fell down from the tree on the corner, scattered all over the road...the car just spun into an armco doing 20kms, that was 2 weeks after i got my p's. it happens. im just letting this kid know that.

how do you know the rev limiter doesnt work???

thats good to hear man. nice to know some people have good luck with cars... thats alot of kays to clock over though, you must have had the car for ages, ive had my 33 for 6 months, bought it with 112000kms, just clocked over 120000kms the other day. cheers Linton

i know that....i wanna know why he speak such shit -
god damn.... this thread is bull shit. OC, take your 2 cars, your girlfriend Schoona, and a fully licensed driver and your L plates and piss off. if your parents know nothing about the car....why are they so hooked on buying it for you?? if they wanna buy you a car, fine, but do the mature and grown up thing and get them to buy you a shitter. i crashed my old honda (which my parents bought for me, for $200) many a time.... simply due to learning....gravel littered corners at the bottom of a steep hill after rain does nothing for braking) even my 31, i 4got to put it in gear and the handbrake didnt hold, the bastard rolled back into a pole. id hate to see a limited edition $60000 car do that $4500 for insurance....thats sounds right....for mums and dads. you've caused enough of a stir....and you blowing up at other members...who are older, and more mature, and smarter than you, is not a good thing. i joined this forum in 03....my first post wasnt till end of 04. i was simply reading others posts and learning the ways of the forums. i suggest you back off and do the same. Schoona.....if you read this. there is a thread dedicated to you mate. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=77440
