Help on Rear strut brace installation
NZM.031 replied to yuandaokia's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
the suspension will drop through when you remove the nuts.....if the car is off the ground! you dont need to jack the car up so there will be weight on the components, which will hold them in the same place as if they were secured. undo the 2 nuts on top of the strut, dont touch the middle one. put the struty on, put the nuts back on. do them up tight. make sure its on flat level ground. its that simple. cheers Linton -
i dont mind it... if you guys stopped looking at it as a 34 front on a supra and looked at as a new model, you might like it. if you cant look past the discolorations then you're too fussy. wonder what a 33 front would look like. cheers Linton

mate, go to nissansilvia.com, thats is the silvia and 180sx club site. go the sr20, it is much more advanced, the engine is more reliable, quicker, punchier, easier to get parts for, the list goes on. also the sr model is the later model, with better suspension, braking, and interior. ive done alot of work to a mates sr 180sx, its pulling 244rwkw with a gtrs turbo and a few other bits and pieces. the power is like an on off switch, 4000rpm, the wheels just light up. nothing like my 33, which has a broad torque range. cheers Linton

are they legal??? i wouldnt mind some.. id imagine cops would love them, as they'd cut your ankle up pretty bad if you brushed past them....let alone get hit by one. they'd be classed as a protrusion. garage 13 might have some. cheers Linton

hey, no progress on parts at the moment... have bought the necessary tools though. will get some aluminium this week and go from there. was planning to make up the radiator panel today...but drifting got the better of me. my bad. cheers Linton
-
double sided tape my man, works a treat. comes off when you want it to, not when it wants to. get the stand, it'll look heaps neater, depending on where you run the wiring..... no one will really care if its not show car standard. cheers Linton

i replaced a set of these in a falcon at work the other day. we had replaced the bushes about a year before, with noelathane bushes, they flogged out, the stuff just crumbled away... these were the red noelathane brand. however ive used noltec (blue ones) in my 31, replaced all the bushes and never had a problem, they have been in there for over 2 years now. no problems. point being.....i dont rate the noelathane ones. cheers Linton

hey mate.... ive heard that meguairs quick detailer works well, never used it though as i live in the country and my car gets hell dirty all the time. im constantly washing it. like you, i use 2 meguiars lambswool mitts, 2 chamois, and a whole heap of different meguiars products. i change to a new wash mit every month.

hey ian...i just made one up for antons 180....still got the templates, will need to be modifed though, as his has custom piping. but yeh, looks good. also needs a little bit of fine tuning, but i was happy with it. ill post some pics of it tomorrow.

ill just rip it off mine...might try it today. also guys, ive been thinkin of making some aluminium airboxes and radiator panels.... identical to my UAS item. im going to make one for me, as the UAS is thin as fibreglass and does jack shit except keep the cops wondering whats under there. they will be made slightly different, to make install and removal easier. out of 3mm aluminium sheet which i will polish up to mirror finish...the cooling panel will also be made out thicker aluminuim. also getting some Garage Debris stickers made up to go on them.. UAS sells the airbox for $200 and the cooling panel for $75. i think id be able to halve this and then some... im posting it here coz i dont want a huge reply or demand for other items like the c/f thread in the for sale section, will be for close proximity R33 gtst's to start with. PM me if you're interested cheers guys Linton

you caan have driving lights, but only be fined if they are turned on in normal driving. i got pulled over for an rbt one day in my subaru when i had it and the cop told me to turn them off or he'd book me for them... it had just stopped raining though. i had them on due to heavy rain. appeal to the fine, see where that gets you. when you get a reply back, go from there. did you get the cops name and badge?? probs told you to shut up then too. good luck with it cheers Linton

well i go down the putty, so oran park is closer than eastern creek. maybe not actually closer, but easier to get to. there is drift day next weekend, ill be there, not sure if ill be entering. ive got a drift button coming from garage 13 for $20, for the moment ive just taped my handbrake button in...works a charm, cept parking on hills....bit of a problem, but eh, not my everyday car. also, ian... have you ever tried to remove your wing?? just wondering, coz mines all glued on n shit, n i wanna take it off, if yours comes off easy, would you be interested in swapping bootlids?? cheers Linton
-
what rims did you get??? maybe they are warped or buckled from the factory. also do you have new or second hand tyres?? maybe they have an egg in them. a mates 180 does that too, its got a sloppy steering rack though. get someone to wobble the steering wheel slightly while you look under there for any steering parts that have movement in them. all parts should be tight, and move together as one, if one moves a bit before moving the next component then it can cause dramas. these are annyoing problems to develop and could be a number of components. good luck champ cheers Linton

eastern creek and oran park is only an 1hr n a bit from newi. good fun and easier to get to via the putty rd though. mine are alloy ones from garage 13, $120... there are ones getting around for all different prices... i saw some polyurethane ones for $60. your car doesnt need many mods to have fun. its better learning in a stockish car. that way as your skills increase, your car increases with you... unlike those guys that buy a drift pig from japan and lose it into a tree etc. etc. cheers Linton

iva always thought those uhfs were a great idea, but thought it was lame to bring it up...nice to others are as lame as me they'd save heaps of money on mobiles and make it easier to talk to others while driving. or thr front runner could just have a megaphone set up like the cops haha, that would be mad. just wondering if anyone else from this small nit group is at all keen on drifting?? as in track days and stuff like that. ive just ordered some pinapples, spin turn knob and a hicas cancelling bar. ill get those pics up soon... cheers Linton

4doorGTR..... cops do pull ppl over for absolutley no reason.. a mate and i were pulled over last night.... why??? coz we were the only 2 cars driving. it wasnt late, we werent doing anything wrong. and the cops told us that, we werent doing anything wrong, our licenses and rego were in order and we hadnt been drinking or anything... they just had nuthing better to do... BUT.... 2G U UP....there is no reason to go off at cops...they are pricks yes, they are on a power trip, yes, if you go off at them, they will get pissed and they will win. 2 wrongs dont make a right....didnt you learn that at school??? how many of your mates didnt learn that at school??? and how many other ppl didnt learn that at school? it makes me sick to see so much violence and negativity and anger towards other ppl....why?? because they said or looked at you in a way you didnt like?? and you think that you have to have the last word, and it escalates from there. im not aiming this toward you 2GU UP. i hardly ever go out, there are just too many ppl out there that just want to start fights, or think ppl are out to get them and just start chopping into anyone they dont like. ppl need to learn some respect, morals and ethics. if lebs and others dont want to be portrayed on ACA the way they were, then dont do it. theres no need for it....cops are arseholes....get over it, they are the law, they can do what they want basically, and will do what they want, if you dont fight back, then the cops cant say anything, ACA cant show anything, except for a group of young guys, that are just out in their cars, to catch up with mates and enjoy a donut...as in the krispy kreme type. set a good example for younger guys, their minds are already full of shit, with fast and the furious portraying a street racing organisation, news programs showing full blown riots over a soccer match....seriously, what the **** is going on there?? just one more thing....im not trying to be racist....im not racist at all.... but whats with lebs being lebs, and greeks being greeks and what not...if you move to australia to get out of your home country for whatever reason....then you become australian.... dont bring your soccer riots here, respect this country and the things we have and enjoy. respect the anzacs...if you dont like it, dont live here. if you left your country because of wars or violence, dont bring it here. enjoy the cruisy lifestyle we have here. not tryin to offend anyone, and sorry if i have, but seriously, think about it.

Creatd Motorsports Skyline
NZM.031 replied to Unscarred711's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hey mate... very nice car. id just remove the creatd stickers... leave the rest on... looks drift. just wondering.... what is the ride hight?? from the ground to the lowest point on the car?? i have a 400r kit on my 33, coilovers and 18" rims. its just above 100mm off the ground, the lowest part being the back of the skirts. but there is still about 1" between the tires and the guards.. on yours, the tyres are very close to the guards, but its not scraping on the ground. just wondering if my kit is deeper then the top secret one and yours alows you to lower the car further but keeping it legal. cheers Linton -
eXc....thats what i did...haha... just rocked up and said hey. some old dude with a young chicky babe rocked up aswell...looked at a few cars, hardly said a word, and then took off. ive been on a few cruises over the years...not saying im an expert though, if you get there on or before the posted time, there is a good chance to socialise and its easier to meet ppl as they turn up, rather than you rocking up to a large group. before and after the cruise theres alot of conversations going on, also talking through windows at traffic lights and what not. its just a good day. bring a friend if you dont like driving on your own, or organise to jump in someone elses car.. we dont bite....and we all like skylines, no matter what they are... hell there was an atmo s13 silvia that rocked up and noone cared that it wasnt a skyline, he was a pretty cool guy. just come along next cruise and hang out. if you dont wanna cruise, then you dont have to, just come up and say hey. cheers Linton

well, it sounds like you may have a busted head gasket, or cracked head...this is what we call..DRAMAS! think about it....if the radiator was full...and now its not...and its not leaking externally....that means its leaking internally. the coolant has to go somewhere, it doesnt just disappear. remove the sparkplugs and find radiator pressure tester. this is a tool that goes on the radiiator just like the cap and you can pump in the required pressure, when you get there, the guage will probably drop, and if you look in each cylinder, you will probs notice one filling up with coolant. not good. it is normal to have bubbles in the radiator, however, they should die down as the air gets bled from the system....but, if its constant bubbles like a spa jet, then that means combustion gas is going into the coolant system and blowing the water out. what does the oil look like?? any water in it?? any oil in the water?? if this is the case, its more likely a cracked head then a head gasket. hopefully, there is just a leak somewhere you have missed...otherwise the head will have to come off. cheers Linton
