  1. yeh i heard there was a bike race or something going on over sun + mon. was gonna suggest bar beach carpark... besides, if the forshore is open, there will be dicks galore down there as usual.... the forshore has gotten pretty lame over the years. will be there, so will the 180.
  2. thats bullshit, abo****e bullshit. but you shouldnt have taken off, i always wait for the cops to go first so they dont follow me again. but still.. i hate how they say random, its not random, why cant they just be honest and say "we just want to hassle you on your way home". i hate cops.
  3. hey SATO_GTS, havent seen u since drift nats at oran park last year, hows the 31? havent seen it round for a while now. must be going good by now. you catch up with simon at all these days?? hows the bub going?? cheers mate Linton
  4. i got told that air filters, when fully boxed and sealed, like mine is, need to pass a decible test 3.21 or someting as they change the noise.
  5. hey mate nice to see another one that has seen the stovetop lights. seriously though.... there is more than just the engine that is different on the turbo and non turbo models...u'd be better off buying a gtst 4dr, atleast then you can sell the engine to recover some cash for your rb25... noone wants to pay much for an anchor though. cheers Linton
  6. mate its just throttle body/carby cleaner, on my subaru it didnt make much difference what so ever. wynns or nulon make a really good carby cleaner. just spray some around the throttle butterfly, open it up and spray some down the throttle, then disconnect one of the vacuum lines at either end... say... the fuel pressure reg hose and the charcoal cannister hose one at a time and spray some in there, then start the car, it will run rough as, give it a rev till it comes good, then disconnect one of the hoses and spra it in while revving the engine, then do it at the other end... it will run like a pig again, and then come good. you could also get a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, put it in a clear drinking bottle, then remove the brake booster hose and stick it in the bottle while revving the engine. it cleans it out good too. ive done it to a lot of cars, and sometimes they bellow out white smoke, massive amounts, they run sweet after its done though. i did it to a mates supra, he knows nothing about cars, it started chugging and running rough and then blew out smoke, he thought i ****ed it. crazy kid, he was freaking out. came good and went heaps better. subaru recommend it be done at every service, so if your mate had never heard about it until now, then it may have made a difference to his. but when its done all the time, it makes no difference at all. cheers Linton
  7. hey mate....would you trade for a 95' model seat with as rip in the RHS side from getting in and out?? not sure on the differences between series 1 and 2 seats so if they are different, i can swap both front seats. cheers Linton
  8. i didnt realise there were that many ppl around newy with lines.... i wave to every line/import i see there, rarely get one back though. ill be down on monday, is it ok if a mate brings his 180sx down?? it makes a respectable 244rwkw, with a few mods.. ill see most of you there....where are we meeting up again??? i couldnt see anywhere that we are going to catch up. hope the cops arent to bad on the weekend...it will be a slow cruise down. cheers Linton
  9. that will happen....its normal when you vent to atmosphere, all that registered air is lost....the ECU reads it and dumps fuel in, but then gets no air, and also, when all that pressurised air is lost, it takes a few micro seconds to build up again, as it loses its momentum. its not there on hand to get forced in on throttle as its been dumped out. cheers Linton
  10. cant see shit in those pics, but from what i can see, that is your cv boot, which is what i said in the post above the boots are usually full of brown grease, the rubber hardens over time and then splits with the movement, as the axle turns around it throws grease everywhere. i could probs give you a hand one weekend to replace the boot if you really need me to. if you dont get it fixed soon the grease will dissapear and water and dirt will get in there and destroy the cv joint. cheers Linton
  11. are you sure its coils??? you dont have a vacuum leak or busted intercooler hose or something?? my car wass missing bad on around 10psi, turned out to be a busted intercooler hose.
  12. soray them with rost off or wd40, around the base of the spring, where the rod goes into the shock absorber... that should stop the squeaking, as for your dilemma with them being to stiff...get the same as the back if they are that good.
  13. hey mate, just a little thing i got told by a clutch dude. twin plate clutches are expensive to buy and expensive to fix and difficult to get parts for. the japanese dont like to use heavy pressure plates, and therefore to get friction they use multiple plates. by using an upgraded pressure plate (they can be made to suit your needs) and a heavy duty full face or button style friction plate you can have more grab from a single plate, for a cheaper price and still have the same drivability from a single plate, and will just need a new friction plate should you wear it out. Paul Thomas has a single plate clutch of the above description in his 400kw (at the wheels) R32 GTR.... thats a good enough product placement for me. cheers Linton
  14. why not an aus brand?? because a pod filter is the biggest piece of 'wank' in the engine bay, one of the only places to show off that you actually have a japanese part. they all work in roughly the same way, just depends on what brand you like and/or use. i have a super metal flow and dont have a problem with it, just take it off and rinse it out with a hose once a fortnight. over the years ive had a cheap $30 cheapie, a K&N dual cone, super power flow, apexi super intake, the cheap one couldnt be washed, the K&N covered the afm with oil from new, didnt have it on there long enough to get dirty, the super power flow made a large difference (for a filter), was quite happy with this filter, but the foam started to fall apart. the apexi got dirty like the others but didnt come up as clean as the power flow when washed, it ended up getting clogged, so i spent a few $ and got the metal flow....made a really big diffference over the apexi, it sounded different, not a harsh sucking noise, smoother power delivery and a crisper engine note. but it all comes down to what you like in the end. it makes sense to carry on a theme/brand. cheers Linton
  15. another thing... with everyone saying bootlids.... id be happy with a drift/stealth wing from carbon
  16. hey mate....im from the hunter....i go to newy fairly often. thats my 33 in my sig... a cruise would be cool aslong as the cops didnt catch wind of it...hunter cops suck cheers Linton
  17. id be more inclined to think it was a cv boot... ur car is a GTR isnt it?? power steering fluid would be no where near these places if it was a rack boot. there would be a long line of oil from the rack boot back on the floorpan...watery mud not like muddy water??? so its fairly thickish. power steering flud when used is thin as water.... drips very easy and goes very dark brown. cv boot grease can be all sorts of colours, but when it wears out, its fairly runny, but not like a liquid. as you drive...it flings the grease all over the place. is it up inside the guard?? cheers Linton
  18. crikey....$400 for shocks is pretty good in my books. my 33 has KYB buzzspec adjustables in the back, and nismo struts and shocks in the front, its lowered about 1.5 inches... with the 400r kit its just above 100mm off the ground. they were in there when i bought it. they are ok though. im looking at getting some Tein coilovers or HKS coilovers. brand new. for drifting....im not too worried about comfort. the 18s with stretched tyres make it rough anyway for speed, you could prbs go with a shock/spring combo rather then a coilover, they are too stiff and end up with traction problems. theres a thread on here saying bilstein and king springs i think are the best all round combo. cheers Linton
  19. damn....thats ghey. people these days have no respect for anything. its all tvs fault. i saw some teenagers trhe other day picking on an old man in a motorised scooter. chasing him and shit. just terrible...lucky someone else pulled up and had a word to them....i would have broken their legs. sorry to hear bout ur car dude, but u are lucky. i hate leaving my car somewhere im not sure about and wondering if it will be there when i get back. cheers Linton
  20. is it the bov?? tried removing it completley?? have you tried a HKS Super Sequential?? just wondering. cheers Linton
  21. damn man....that sucks arse bigtime.... id be shattered if that happend...me writing it off...fair enough...my bad, but id freak and go spastic if someone else wrote it off. condolences.. cheers Linton
  22. if you have 3 piece rims, then its possible just a matter of changin the outer/inner rim to widen it and tidy up the offset ive got 3 piece Work Meisters, im going to put my 18x9 on the front with phat guards and get the 18x8 changed to 18x10 and flare the rear guards....2" dish on the front, 3" dish on the back.....should look phat. but i assume you are talking about a 1 piece wheel.... in which case...nup, you'll have to cough up.... some places have pairs of wheels for heaps cheap. cheers Linton
  23. the power fc is a full engine comp....u can tune every aspect of the car through the ecu...and monitor just about everything. the boost controller for the power fc, is basically an avc-r without the screen. the power fc controls the boost. a safc is an airflow converter and is used to tune the air/fuel mixtures by telling the original ecu how much air the engine is getting at so many revs at such n such throttle positon and modifying it through the unit. both perform the same jobs, just with the power fc you have control over everything...but its more expensive and so is tuning. the safc can be tuned with just an air/fuel ratio meter. cheers Linton
  24. bummer....i always worry bout my dad working around my car... its never in a position to get run into though... shame about urs... what did he say about it??
  25. personally, i think if u want a car to mod... just get a GTR, V specs are far too rare and are more of a collectors thing.... something u have sitting in your shed. sounds like u a new to the skyline deal as well.... ever drivin a gtst?? GTRs can be a handful in the hands of the unknown....they are awesome when they are being driven by someone who can handle them, but even though they are awd, they arent as predictable through corners as a wrx or evo. they are alot more tail happy and can step out quite a bit. do a search on here of R32 GTRs and their problems, or expenses. GTRs are expensive to repair and to mod. most parts are nearly triple the price of those for an RB20. how young are you?? 94' R32s are usually around high 20's - mid 30s....let alone a V-spec. cheers Linton
