  1. yes r33/s14 lca are about 15mm longer than an r32/s13 lca.. ive used them for numerous reasons a)they were available b)more negative camber c)more wheel track d)more room for extra lock due to more track cheers Linton
  2. ive sorted out my "no time to workout at home" problem... ill workout at work!! im in my office doing lunges, squats, one handed snatches, deadlifts, shoulder press, shrugs and bent over rows with water cooler jugs... its bloody brilliant... dunno why i never thought of it before..
  3. thanks damo, i saw that you'd put off the roll centre idea for a bit .... ill be plotting the points on Susprog and seeing what it comes up with.. again, in an effort to save time i may just get some rca's and bsa's for the front and your mates subframe bushes for the rear and see how that goes first, if i cant get the handling to a point where it feels comfortable then i will go ahead and have a crack.. i like john's idea of the adjustable mounts on the rear subframe... my idea to raise the castor rod mounts was due to the idea i was going to raise the inner lower control arm mounts pm the crossmember a little bit aswell, and what you're saying makes sense.. but goes against other things that i have read... but if the internet is good for one thing, its contradicting itself, haha.... and porn. but again... after spending all day researching roll centre.. you have to have a uni degree to even look at some papers... or be able to decipher a bunch of randomness... and none of it is r32 specific of course... the ride height that i desire is not much lower than i had on the street and it felt ok and it didnt have any castor or camber changes, just coilovers... but ive taken measurements and will begin plotting away just for interests sake. cheers
  4. its definatly something that im way over my head with... but you have to learn from mistakes, so ill see what happens and yeh ill definatly post up the goings on here.. with the help of my old boy we should be able to nut something out.. cheers Linton
  5. so i decided last night to start measuring things for roll centre adjustment.. so out came the shocks and springs, and up went the wheels to my desired ride height... it looked sooo phat so instead of actually doing anything, i put the old front bar on and sat the headlights in place and spent the evening taking some pics.. i hope the size isnt too big.. some are phone and some are proper camera pics. had a quick look at the angles of the arms.. and at that height.. the lca appears flat.. or maybe pointing up a little bit... so i can get a rca adjuster easy enough for the bottom arm... but what about the top arm?? what has people done there?? the only thing i can think is to raise the top mount on the strut tower to match the angle of the lca.... is it worth worrying about RCA on a double wishbone setup?? i mean, whatever i do at the front, has ot be replicated at the back.. ill be raising the subframe and mounting it directly to the chassis.. which is a 13mm or so lift.. argh.. brain explosion! so to refresh my poor brain, i played in photoshop enjoy!
  6. weather in may is usually fantastic... chilly nights, fresh mornings, excellent comfortable temps during the day, perfect sunny afternoons and lush greenness everywhere... autumn is the best season!
  7. back again.. bit of an update for the month so i decided to start on the interior... working from front to back. cleaned the firewall painted the firewall cleaned, checked, painted and regreased the pedals.. i was tossing up with a full on pedal box... but i can do that later if need be.. in an effort to get it driving again sooner, i will be using the standard brake system with upgraded discs and pads.. ill get some nice pedals and position them for better heel/toe action etc. and then cleaned the steering column and fitted it and the pedals i also painted the support bar matt black.. dunno why, you'll never see it. now the dash pad can go back in and on to the outside.. its been quiet at work... so i decided to do some fab stuff.. one thing i wanted was to replicate the nismo powerbrace.. i dunno why.. every little bit helps i guess.. its a free and easy mod so why not.. ive just got to box it up underneath, reinforce and reposition the castor rod mounts a little higher and paint it silver.. i also started carving up the old a/c mount to make it a p/s pump mount... so in its full state.. it weighs 3kg, which is the same as the original cast bracket.. and in this pic it weighs 1.5kg ive cut a bit more off since then and swiss cheesed it.. down to a final 1kg now.. so the original r32 pump and bracket was 7kg (4kg+3kg) and the new combo is 3kg (2kg+1kg)... will get photos of it mounted up later.
  8. what happened to your control arm mount there brah?? looks like a bit of a drift repair.
  9. mwhahahaha... no way... penny farthings will go the way of uni cycles... only for geeks and nerds... but... if they do catch on... and they do have brakes id love to see the old school yard prank of swapping the brake cables over so the brake levers are opposite.. imagine that poor kid riding home none the wiser to his impending face plant of doom from a height of 6ft.
  10. hey mate, ive just sent you a text, but im keen on the cage and the suspension.. what adjustments do they have.. im assuming HA means height adjustable.. also im in nsw.. i have a freight account so i can organise the items to be picked up, but you'd need to wrap them up and package them somehow, only info i would need is where and when suits you.. if thats ok with you.. ive just gotta check with the boss as to how much i can spend.. my maths works it out ok.. but apparantly she likes to eat more than baked beans and toast..
  11. i dont get why everyone hates on the noise of them?? i think they sound fantastic.. spose you's all think antilag is shit aswell. i think there should be more people who can be happier with a simple mod to produce a simple sound.. how is this any stupider than those that want 400hp for no real reason and have nowhere to use it... or want to break a time barrier and spend thousands of dollars for a few milli-seconds. how many of you guys bagging out the "dose pipe" have a reasonably noisy exhaust?? or are you all under the 90db limit?? the chu chu sound is no more common/easily recognised than a hks ssqv. you mod your car for you, and only you need to be happy with it. and blocking off the bov wont give you the same sound.. you need a metal intake pipe to get the full chu chu chu noise. and i didnt have any problems with stalling.. straight pipe is fine, you dont need a small pipe attatched, your oil breather goes to your catch can, not back into the intake, and the bov is disconnected so its not relevent. having said that.. you can still get a cool reversion sound by having the bov recirc line enter after the turbo.. not in the intake.
  12. on a more serious note... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...atchlink:top:en this is the beauty of a build up... Kona Stuff... to buy it as a complete bike.. its a heap of junk, base model shit, nasty wheels and hubs. brakes ok, but nasty running gear.. you're better off paying the extra for a higher spec bike subsequently others see a kona stuff frame for sale and bypass it for the reason above.. but to the trained eye and bargain builder... its a tidy 7005 alum frame to use as a base for just about any bike you care to ride.. for next to nothing.
  13. MIRRORS x infinity!!!
  14. me eps... if you want a bike that is different and stands out... this is the bike for you my friend. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Shogun-Coca-Cola-Mo...=item20b07f0e37
  15. riding position was spot on for downhill and big jumps... dont sit down much of the time there.. and the angle with the 4" dirt jumpers was spot on for me.. i had bigger 5" pikes on the front and it had too much rake.. 2.5" fronts and 2.3 rear tyres.. the thing was bombproof.. unfortunatly i wasnt.. had a big crash and fractured alot of bones in my left side... bike didnt even look like anything had happened. aye trozzle... A-Line ftw!!.. i had one of them 2 bikes before the identiti above... it was a build up from scratch aswell... a-line frame and bomber forks, race face northshore crank, hayes 9" discs... etc etc.. nothing truvativ on it. haha. i didnt like it when they changed to colours in 07 though... i was going to buy a brand new one but they didnt do them in black anymore yes very impractical but tooks tough as all f$%k.. really want a specialized demo 9 in army green or the metallic red now.. they are getting a bit old so i should be able to scoop one up and start building again. or a sinister R9... hell yeh. i just love the motocross style bikes they look phat as.
  16. and a supercharged honda b16a engine??
  17. coilpacks sold shocks and springs pending payment bonnet pending payment everything else still up for grabs... will take offers on anything..
  18. hahaha... chris king FTW!! haha too true marc, or roadies that *ABSOLUTLY MUST HAVE* the latest groupset because its way more betterer than the last years stuff... hence why you get ebay bargains.. and as far as weight saving... there is not much weight to be saved between sora, 105, and ultegra... theres about as much weight difference in them as in in a pair of ankle socks vs long socks.. SFA.. eps.. havent you seen the pancake eating cyclists?? man you need to get out.. they are along every beach front.. where the road is flat. they all pull up on their latest model Look or Time bikes... with all the trimmings.. and clip clop in and eat pancakes... oh and eps.. heres a pic of my absolutle favourite bike, which was pieced together from ebay and farken.net. identiti dr jekyll frame, race face cranks, snafu pedals, e thirteen chain ring, sun double wide rims, hayes disc brakes, dirt jumper forks, etc, etc.. all up cost around $500... worth over $2000 if you were to buy it all brand new. i used it for d/h as i wasnt comfortable on a dually at the time.. felt awkward.. i like my hardtails.
  19. argh im so out of whack with training.. this is meant to be my weight gain season... but with house reno's and car build ups, and working after work and extra before work, im too farked to even pick up a weight... its good that im doing physical activity, but its not lifting... although carrying bricks and swinging sledgehammers is a great for the shoulders and traps.
  20. french are dumb... nuff said... marc is right.. .road bike riders are stupid snobs.. main reason why i ride alone is because i hate being judged on my pieced together Felt F95 because it doesnt have a carbon frame... they see the number on the frame and judged it and me from that.. stupid road bike riders.. go ride your $10000 orbea orca and eat your stinking pancakes.. hope you get heartburn and reflux on the 2km ride home.
  21. i aint marc... but building a bike with your seleciton of bits is the best fun.. hours of scouring ebay for bargains though. i have built all my bikes from the frame up.
  22. i think the 2 different types your hearing about is r32 gtst and gtr are different in the rears. they are the complete get up, springs and shocks, all together, unbolt and bolt in, no mucking around. my number is 0431646160, just text me as i generally dont answer and ill reply with my account details.. whats your address and ill get them ready.. cheers i assume so.. cant see why they would be any different. cheers. if you want it, text me on 0431646160 sent pm and text msg... cheers mate. cheers Linton
  23. risking... you sir.. are a machine of an animal... and you're going to have one animal of a machine! p.s. the excel looks phat in that photo... should leave it like that and go rat rod style... hahaha.
  24. they arent the rubber mount... they are the alloy supports/brackets/etc that bolt in between the engine and the mount only if the rb20 is in the gts4.. i was hoping to modify them to fit my gtst, one side comes close.. the other side is completly different.
