Considering An R34 25gt Skyline
scotty014 replied to Solid Snake's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i used to own a 4 door r34 when i was on my p's, i liked it, it handled well mine was stock, it was comfortable. im guessing quarter mile times would be about high 15's to 16's probably. mine came with r34 turbo brakes and they were great it made it feel much better. i did have to replace the coilpacks in it with splitfires. then i went to japcars in fawkner and bought a black r34 turbo from them and i asked about the coilpacks and he said that he will replace them and that now he was going to replace the coilpacks with every r34 that he brings into australia. unfortunately mine failed in about 6 months and i replaced them with splitfires. the ones he put in are supersparks and are meant to be good so i guess i just got a bad set or something. they are great to deal with so i would look there first. also things to look for on r34's is the rear middle brake light that can get rust on it because the seal is usually worn out. -
my car is black and has a fair bit of stone chips on the front are these going to show up clearly? also i may have to pull out, but ill find out tomorrow. if i have to pull out am i able to message you sometime to do it another day?

wow this is an old thread i thought it was new untill i saw it said 2003 lol. i have avs wheels as well they came with the car, mine are model 7's.

i bought my r34 from him and he was very good, it came with a couple mods on it which were great plus he changed the coilpacks with ones called supersparks because the originals were beggining to missfire. but unfortunatly these failed last month for some reason so i have splitfires now. great guy id deal with him again in the future.

ok sounds good, ill probably print them out a bit smaller than a4 and arrange them, than frame it, should look good.

got a quick question, just wondering what size will the photo's be, because i wanted to make like a collage (if thats how you spell it) and then frame it.

-
i e-mailed them and they said they make them to order and takes about 1-2 weeks which is good.
-
thanks mate, autoworx has the exact one im after.

im hoping someone might be able to help. im looking for the factory optioned r34 aero lip, i attached a pic. also was wondering does anyone know how much lower they sit because i want one to cover my intercooler piping because i have a turn flow intercooler, then i can cover it up with the hard plastic underneath to protect it from any damage.

spotted a silver r32 gts-t with sau stickers when i was coming home along mickelham road in tullamarine. And Damn that road was busy today, i hate it sometimes.
-
just wondering if anyone knows where i can get one or anyone who has one. im finding it hard to find any kind of front lips for r34's. the reason im after one is to cover the bottom pipe on my turn flow intercooler. also does anyone know how much lower these will make the front sit? ive attached a pic also.

this is a good discussion as i have a r34 gtt thats auto, and have done months of research from reading as many things as i can find about the autobox. but what i found out is that heat and poor maintenance is the big killer and that a shift kit helps pro-long the life of the auto because it puts less stress on the bands and in turn means less heat being made. so now im confused as to whats true. damn the internet and all its info .

i think its funny how the mind works, i agree its stupid behaviour because i want to keep my car and not lose it. plus i got better things to spend my money on also.but the funny thing is though, i have dvd's where you see stuff like this happen and i think it is awsome and good to watch. then i have some where they are in japan doing mountain runs and car factories running there cars on freeways at insane speeds eg. a r34 gtr doing 300kmh on a busy freeway and a crazy rx7 going flat out on a little side road. and i love watching it thinking that is awsome but dont really think how illegal it is. also when you see a ford or something do a burnout or put there footdown you think thats lame. but when you see a ferrari or a really nice mustang or any other nice car you think thats awsome or you hope they do one or put there foot down. thats how my mind works anyway .

thanks for telling me that, i was very interested in how long it would roughly take to pay for itself and stuff like that. and as you said the main reason was limiting the km you do on your r34.

oil pressure sounds the same as mine. at first it is over 4 until the car gets to operating temps. and as for the tips for keeping it in shape for a daily id say just service it regulary and only use the best fuel and it should be fine.
-
nice car, those rims make it look alot better. but i dont really agree with the fuel consumption, i used to have one of those. it takes me about 20-25mins to get to work and only a little bit is freeway and it was really good i had no complaints and now i own a r34 turbo and still no complaints its great on fuel. im not making a stab at you or trying to sound rude im just curious, but buying another car for a daily driver and also now paying for another cars insurance and rego plus its fuel and any other running costs, at the end of the day are you saving money?

i really really didnt like it still. can they just have one guy to promote the next segment other than all 3, it reminds me of an awards show where each one says a little bit then the next guy says something then the next guy, its stupid. also that was the worst interview ever with skaife each question was so similar to the last it was pointless. i think they should just talk about the cars and stop with the incredibly lame jokes and stop reading what they are saying its way to obvious, they really need to relax more and say whats on there mind, but that still wont change much they need 3 new hosts and have a competition where we choose the hosts. blood, sweat and gears is better than this so is fith gear. everyone should get foxtel the discovery channel has way better car shows on, i love them.
