ill definately take pics as soon as i get it. i was going to get the pics now but it has already been taken off carsales. i got it at power road car sales for $14,000. he is a small dealer but only works with skylines but he had a couple of 300zx's there as well. it was a bit of a drive to go and see it but my uncle lives in rowville so it wasn't that bad the dealer was in dandenong and i live on the other side of melb, ill definately be seeing you guys because ill be joining for sure. also i forgot to mention the badging on the back is in gold did any come with that or did the last owner just buy them or paint them.

hey everyone i had to tell someone so i thought how about i tell alot of people. its a 1999 r34 25gt its silver, has the turbo brakes and has carbon fibre window pillars which looks pretty cool. i went with my dad and my uncle and we looked at every little bit of it, we moved the carpet in the boot and in the car as well, looked underneath and took it for a drive and then checked for any leaks and its as clean as a whistle. i should have it in a week or two and ill take some pics and post em up. oh and the best thing is i bought it i dont owe anyone which is a good feeling. when taking it for a test drive it felt great, the handling felt fantastic the braking was awsome and revved nicely through all gears. now i have to wait which sucks im real excitied i feel like a little boy on christmas eve lol, anyway ill post pics when i get it thanks for reading i just had to tell someone lol.

thanks for all your posts guys i appreciate it. to answer a couple things you guys wrote is that im not after a full track car just something for track days because i want to get into circuit racing. so what im after is something you can take to the track to learn the basics and still will be my everyday driver car to work, so thats why im not after a full stripped out hardcore racecar. so id do some suspension work and probably brakes and stuff like that nothing major just something to learn in, when i get the job i want i can move into some more circuit racing and dedicate a car just to that and by then i should know the basics.

hi everyone im just wondering what car would be good for a beginner wanting to start doing some track days and circuit racing and stuff like that, only because im hugely interested in this and ive been saving alot of money. ive been thinking of turbo but im not quite sure yet only because im still on my p's for another year. now im writing in the n/a forum because im thinking what an N/A r34 would be like on the track either the 2 door or 4 door, only problem is i seem to mainly find 4 door r34's are they still any good? anyway any info on these would be much appreciated.

hey that reminds me of the new ignition dvd it has an red r34 in it with the ls1 v8 and a twin turbo setup that has 400kw at the wheels and revs up to 7000rpm all the internals are stock and can handle a bit more power. he uses it for drifting and said its getting boring and wants more power so a company has built a bigger v8 and he is putting on better turbos so he will even have more power, now thats crazy.

this really makes me sick, i pray that he is just joking because if he gets rid of the best engine ever made for a v6... seriously a V6!!. he does not deserve a r32 is he aiming to drive slower and make his car sound bad. Now im not making fun of him starting right... now. ok now ill talk about that engine easily it sucks but thats my opinion so dont get angry with me, there are way to many of these cars around where i live and they put exhaust systems on them and they all sound horrible they dont sound sporty or sound like there fast they just sound like there is something wrong with there engine or there isnt any exhaust on the car. anyway i could make fun of holden for ages there just a car that im not a fan of at all, and thats mainly because of the drivers that have them where i live, they are all wankers starting fights and doing massive burnouts outside pubs all the time so i dont have anytime for them there all show ponies, but im not saying that every holden driver is just where i live.

if you dont mind me asking where do you get nismo mufflers from? ive seen alot of cars with the nice looking nismo mufflers and id love to know where ya get them from.

great pics it looked like alot of fun, should have a skyline in a few months so im definately coming next time. are there many single chicks on the cruise? lol. anyway love the pics at apollo bay ive been there a few times and stayed there a few times as well its a great place. only bad thing was when we had a car crash coming home, a cement truck ran a stop sign and we hit him on his side and made it tip and roll over onto its side thank god we got out ok. My mum got a fractured sternum and that was the worst of the injuries also dad was driving not me i was only on my L's when it happened. it happened near colac a few years ago we went over the crest and the truck never stopped he just went straight through. so it shows that fords can be pretty safe cars lol the ambulance thought we were all dead when he first got there. And thats probably why i drive a little bit safer now but not like a grandma or anything lol. enough about me crapping on about rubbish it looked like a great cruise and also a perfect day.

are they the ones that look like the fastback mustangs. i have a pic in one of my magazines with that car and he put a kit on it and it looks like a gt 500 from gone in 60 seconds it looks good but it wont sound as good or go as good as one of them lol. but i think id like to get a 67 or 68 mustang in the future just to cruise in and have my skyline for track days and cruising and take out my wrx for that nice burble lol i wish. anyway looks like ill be getting a r34 cant wait to get it so i can become a member and drive around and meet all of you guys and girls.

i think ill probably go the skyline i love the look of the r34. the only way id go for a subaru again would be if it was a wrx, only because its starting to get annoying when it bogs down and hills can sometimes be a bitch i have to get my revs right up to get going nicely up the hill (also ill add the subaru is automatic.) the only way i beat people on the hill is that i can take the inside faster compared to the other guys.oh and also because i want that burble sound that only a wrx can have. ill test drive an r34 soon hopefully they have more get up and go and can climb a hill easily. not hear to make fun of any cars but i cant see myself in a magna because they remind me of an old people car who drive real slow and my granparents own one as well.thanx for all the comments guys please feel free to keep them coming they are being very helpful. ps. its such a hard decision because i love cars, my all time fav car is mustangs but i cant get one of those yet and i love the subaru and skyline equally they both are fantastic cars and they both look really nice ( except for the new subaru coming out).anyway im still young so eventually ill own them in some point of my life.

that is one awsome car thats exactly what i want. i am after a 2 door coupe instead of a 4 door, plus i want it to have that rear spoiler yours has as well.

subaru's are just different, i thought maybe it might be the same kind of induction set up but the black box on the subaru is called the torque box so thats pretty self explanatory on what it does and thats why we keep it. i should probably have a look at a skyline intake sometime, sorry about the post i just thought it might be similar. do the skylines have other air restrictors on it? because the subaru has heaps and all used to stop more air and make it quieter, its stupid but i guess some people want quiet compared to performance.

thanks man ill try and find there weight i only ask this question because i dont want to get a slower car but i dont want massive power at the moment either. a little less than the ford ba would be good cause i know they have more power, my parents own one and they are pretty damn fast and sound good at high revs ( good ol straight 6) i get to drive it to work sometimes. anyway love this forum it has lots of info and good people also. ill probably be asking some more questions in the future so get ready lol.

just to quickly add about the pic the box where the filter sits is in the top right of the pic u can only just see a bit of it. any more questions about it just ask ill do my best. im not an expert on these i go by from what i have read and people i have spoke to that have this system i got most of my info from mrt performance so i cant take all the credit.

well on the subaru you leave the main box and from that u run a pipe to where ever u like. the pipe has nothing on it thats why you keep the box where the panel filter sits. illl attach a pic of a setup so you can see what it looks like. just to clarify there is nothing at the end of the pipe you dont need anything cause you still have the panel filter in the box. everyone that has done this says you can feel the difference and it works really well so hopefully you can do the same in a skyline.

hey guys im new hear and thought id ask you guys something. first off my names scott at the moment im driving a early 2000 model subaru rx now its not 100% mine you see we have to have 2 cars at home and parents got the subaru as our second car because we dont have to pay for the ford and the petrol for it as well.anyway i pay for the fuel and servicing for it so its kinda half mine and i respect it cause i respect cars. first off im not a spoilt brat i work hard for my money and i have saved up alot so far this is because they are getting rid of the subaru because mum wants a ford focus so its time i start looking for my own. now i get off my p's next year i can drive a turbo if i want but i dont think id have enough money for insurance and all the other extra stuff for a turbo car. now im thinking of getting a r34 gt just because i love skyline's as well as subaru's. now do you think these would be quicker then a subaru rx? its probably a hard question because most of you probably havn't driven one but hopefully some of you have because they are very quick cars and i just want to get a car with more power or same i dont want one with less. now dont jump down my throat saying subaru's are shit skylines are the best because for me i love both and after all they come from the same country. anyway back to my question are there engines very strong in the r34? and whats there acceleration like? anyway one of my main questions is are they better performance wise and reliability wise compared to a rx or would they perform about the same. i know i probably won't get an answer with the difference between them but i thought id ask anyway. i have been doing alot of research on the forum and all you guys know alot so i trust ill get a good answer.just so you know i love both and know a fair bit about both but just not too much about n/a skylines, thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for answering my questions.

hey guys the names scott, just clear something up i was reading this forum and saw this question and i just had to be a member to help you out. Now at the moment i own a n/a subaru, thats right start laughing and telling me to get off this forum but im getting a skyline soon so thats why im joining. ok now to the question, on subaru's there is an air box that connects straight to the throttle and in the box the filter sits, now if i remove it and put a pod in ill lose power and it will feel like crap the reason is that the box is there to hold air while stationary so when you take off it dosnt have to wait for air to travel all the way up. so what most n/a subaru guys do is leave it and get a pipe to run to a good part of the car to get cold air and leave the panel filter in or get a k and n and it works really well.now im not 100% sure if thats what its like with a skyline but i hope it might help anyway.
