Depends on $$ and how much 'race' you want vs look etc there are alot of fast cars around without any aero etc so obviously make sure suspension, tyres etc sorted first Obviously the proven bigger 'GT' rear wings are there being Voltex, Topstage and APR - with the AUD going down so much it puts even the basic versions of the above into the $2.5K mark though A rear lip probably wouldnt do much at all compared to a proper wing on r32 gtst had a basic Origin 1700mm CF rear wing on and put a gurney flap on it... made the car feel solid in the rear.. though have absolutely nothing to compare it too so probably doesnt mean much but a decent starting point .... the angle i ran it etc prob causing too much drag vs downforce etc recently it snapped going 200ks + so now going Topstage rear wing when the wing snapped at tunuing session came in took it off went out 5 mins later so same track / tyre temps everything car felt very noticably unstable in the rear after that its also about balance front to rear, i dont run a front splitter yet so I understeer alot, so yes your front splitter on vs no decent rear wing would prob make rear more unstable to usual ?

I have an SSB in my racecar - sunny old Perth isnt that cold usually but have cranked it over with sucess on some low single digit cold mornings All other times never had a problem, obviously coupled with isolator etc but sitting for months at time and cranks over first time no probs been going 18 mths strong and not charged it once since initial full charge

  7. rb25 with 3071gtx or equivlant hypergear turbo lowmount i/w on 18psi for 280 - 300rwkw? should carry 450nm and be all in around 3750rpm ? injectors, fuel pump and basic ecu or nistune and get window switch for VCT if needed like oyu said keep crossover pipes etc for std look people have different thoughts / feelings on response etc but wouldnt thought the above would be a good balance of all without too many dramas as its a pretty well troden path

  10. s14/ s15 etc rack from my experience definately got more travel and also less turns lock to lock if you get binding reduce your castor you've pretty much maxed out that type setup without going to new knuckles, changing mounting points etc etc
  11. get it powdercoated .. best thing i did was get all my stuff powdercoated, not very expensive, looks good and 3 x as tough as paint

  14. Went to No limits last night ... had a great night, good people it all flowed well and a good decent amount of laps. Car ran faultlessly and improved my times second time out on long track and first time at short track yielded a 64.2 long and 55.62 - respectable and getting there obvious improvement with better tyres but also my driving came along a bit but still heaps to learn and be nice to get those times into 63's and 54's eventually also for interest sake I weighed the car at barbs, surprisingly still heavy being 1270kg... this is with about 35L of fuel and full race trim ie: 2 seats etc but goes to show even taking a heap out shows how much you put back in with cages and all the 'go fast' bits Im pretty sure I can get 30kg out of it easily ie: passenger seat out, door trims and frp boot and about another 20kg with lighter rims and a few other things like that without going full chop shop which I dont want to do If I stop breaking this so often the racing funds might be able to accomidate some of the above if I can just be spending $$ on tyres and fuel and not fixing it so often

Ive got No limits tonight at Barbs... then RAC tuning day on 6th Nov we are entered into the McRae rally sprint next week but in the purle s14 (in pics above) .. dont know whether Im driving or co - driving yet depends whether the my friend is up to driving as he recovery from a hosiptal visit

  19. so developed a 'misfire'... turns out injectors not flowing so good ! blocked obviously from e85 (4 years old) ... new id1000's ordered and due tomorrow compression test / leak down test shows no huge drama - little down on no.4 but within range still so should still be all good...hopefully set of slightly used yoko 050 265's acquired.. getting new wheel alignment as recommended to run with 5 deg castor and getting massive under steer going back to what i know being 7ish and hopefully solve the issue

  21. im running adjustable camber arms and everything else -4 camber , 6 castor but I have other stuff going on like S15 steering rack etc etc also full GTR front everything as mentioned above and tubs + sitting about 350mm centre rim to gaurd height Also mine is a track car
  22. As above wheels too big to my knowledge you gonna struggle i have 18 x 10 + 15 on the front of my r32 gtst with r32 guards, adj LCA's out about 20mm+ and 4 deg camber and 'normal' ride height I still get slight scrubbing in a few areas
  23. how'd you go with the MCA's? did you get to drive the car on track with others in first for comparison ?
  24. pretty sure it's not sunroof's crack its just no one will put tint on them because of the type of 'glass' and the temps the endure the tint itself doesnt work well on them ie: stick properly ...will buble etc could be wrong but im pretty sure thats what i got told when I asked many years ago

Been out on track a few times with success now... feels good to get some untroubled seat time...a few tuning sessions and 1 x session at barbagallo Only got 6 hots laps that night before the rain came, when it rained I packed it up before I did something stoopid and ruined my run of good fortune... did a 67.4 long track on achillies 123 tyres not real having much of a clue and braking way too early .. 63's with good tyres seems the mark for a decently quick rwd car so hopefully 2 sec gain on driving ability and 2 secs going to some good tyres eventually will put me in the ball park havent yet played with suspension setting or anything just out there driving it right now... finding it a little hard to get the slow in.... fast out (and also not burning up tyres on way out) thing down but will get there Pics from No limits night Also finally got my new bonnet .. get your Charbon on ... now back to looking semi pretty again ... hope it stays that way out again in 2 weeks for some more track time ... then hopefully get into some sprint series stuff as well
