thanks guys, it sounds like its a universal problem among the skylines but the thing is, i have got the bloody gearbox recond, new bearings everything. if the moving parts theory from the mechanic is tru then its not a problem, but as u said about the thrust... would'v it hav been replaced....i wonder these days wen u pay for things to be done to the car and crap is done instead !...

Hey I'v got an R33 GTST, iv recently got my gearbox Recond. now before i got it recond When in Neutral in Idle it would make a noise like a bearing sought of sound, but then wen u push the clutch in it'll go quiet!! after the recon it still continued to hav this noise, the mechanic said "yeh its still gonna make some noise as wen in neutral the skyline gearboxes still have moving parts operating in idle". my question is: is this true and is this normal for all skylines including mine? i know sound like a stupid question, but i just want to satisfy myself in knowing that i didn't waist time and money and the problem still stands. Hey, have u got Just Black leather, No red? I'll buy full set if u have just black, with the ripple effect in the middle of the seats (front and rear). also 'leatherette' what exactly does that consist of? Also will they fit on a SERIES 1 R33 GTS-T? Thanks

Yeah apparently he has got the stock bov with pod filter and reckons he gets flutter, i agree that the bov must be modified for it to do that. Yeah wen i had an after market BOV i used to get it all the time. So the high pitched ringing noise when the car is in vacuum is normal. thats a relief! the flutter wasnt my biggest concern, i just was curious that wen i heard that noise plus no flutter, i thought they were connected as my mate said otherwise. So why does the turbo make that piercing sound wen in vacuum around -14 to 10 IN-Hg, its a weird thing! cheers guys

im wanting to replace the seals around the front and rear window of my R33, i havn't been game enough to get a price from nissan, but id luv to know if someone out there makes these seals. Nissan are C*#ts (excuse the language), iv gotten prices from them also, and bought parts only as last resort.

Yeah it sounds like your talking about the same thing. But it happens in every gear at a particular rev range and yeh Vacuum level. I had an atmospheric Bov on before and i never heard it. Now is this bad that this High Ringing (pitched) sound is comming from the turbo? Another thing iv got a K&N pod on there, i dont get any flutter out of it, and my mate with the same car and pod does! WHAT does this mean? Do u get it?

Hey, yeah its not to loud but u can hear it from the outside loudly, its like a high pitched metal sought of sound, its hard to discribe. but if u take off slowly around the 2500 3000rpms it'll pitch then stop as the revs continue to climb. i dont want to go buy another one and the same prob happens if this is normal, but something tells me it isn't. let me know wot u think James

I hav just put the stock BOV on my R33. i had a after market one on there but got defected. But the stock one is making a very high pitched piercing sound at about 2500 revs, its worse in second gear. its only wen i take off very slowly and the turbo isn't boosting. my question is, Is this normal? and if not do u reckon the bov is stuffed or something else? Also are R33's with stock bov supposed to FLUTTER if u hav a pod filter? one of my mates reckon it is, but mine Isn't. Any comments on this? Thanks James
