Very little rain this morning, so fingers crossed the forecast remains true and Saturday is a top day. Will be there with 2 cameras trying to fill the 1000 photo memory space.
yes, the R34 front onto a Stagea is a kit - custom guards and front bar (I think original ba canbe modded to fit). R34 guards don't line up as the Stagea one's are about an inch lower into the engine bay. Orginal R34 lights, bonnet and bonnet latch mechanicals also required.
There will be one for sale in a couple of weeks - GTR front and driveline.
I had a previous (Mitsubishi) engine built by that place, Morgs. Engine was fine except for the piston clearance - had significant piston slap. I went there because they were supposed to be the sh1t. This was quite a few years ago though.
I agree, "cheap" and "rebuild" don't mix.
Current radar imagery of any rain in the Sydney area. WSID is located at the junction of the North-south line and the inner circle (just above the second "r" in "Parramatta").

Current weather and forecast looks grim. I don't even think my car will be able to make it for a display at the show and shine, let alone racing. Hopefully the weather gets better by Thursday, otherwise I would imagine that it will be canned for the same reason as last time.
I got that info from the WSID website. 600hp will have to provide the incremental MPH figures. But yes, I agree, the car wasn't being launched or driven as hard as it could be. That 1.7 60" was its best of the night with the rest in the 2.0-2.4 region. Best MPH of the night was 116. Plenty left in it if short shifting is eliminated and more agressive driving instigated.
Good luck with it.
Charlie.
Spotted XTATIK yellow pearl R32 GTR on Hume Hwy Cabramatta at 1:30pm, then a few seconds later a red R32 GTR GTR00F parked on a side street, and literally 3 seconds later, a silver? R33 with SLYR33 plates and carbon bonnet driving on the same street.
Car is supposed to be painted by the weekend. That gives us one whole week to fit the ECU, tune, check everything, and hope that nothing goes wrong.
PM sent, Richard.
Paul, who is doing the cage for you? Care to pass on some details as I might know someone who might be needing one in the not to distant future.
One thing that really impresses me is the fat power band. Plenty of power and average HP is very high, not peaky like some dyno queens. Well done again.
Hey guys,
What would a Series 1 Stagea 260 RS with R34 GTR front be worth in Australia? Does anyone do compliance for this particular model? How manyaAre there in Australia?
TIA,
Charlie.
I thought so, was just hoping that some other nutter had managed to churn out a similar dyno figure. Awesome indeed. Did it do any track events, or is it still only a dyno queen?
I reckon we should do what they expect us not to do - turn up again. If you don't attend again, then they would have succeeded. I think we should show up in force with plenty of Skylines (and other imports). I know that alot of the rotor guys got the shits with the organisers/judges/event staff due to the obvious bias shown.
