  1. always_me, that is actually where I got the pic from. Only thing I could find about it. SK, I am sure that it is connected to the ECU, which was controlled via an SS Crazy ECU. I also think that there is another SS Crazy electronic device, called DBS?? Then there is a boost controller and also an Apexi AFC. (Haven't seen the car in a while) I think I will throw them all out and just get an Autronic or MoTeC
  2. Also, an auto will allow the engine to load (and hence spool turbo) as well as pre-load the drivetrain. A transbrake will hold the auto while it revs to its convertor rpm and then release the car like a slingshot. A manual box simply cannot do this.
  3. Just clouds, no rain. Nice and cool. Perfect racing weather.
  4. Does anyone have any idea what this electronic device does? Can't seem to find any info on it anywhere.
  5. Both workshops are excellent. I would reccomend a PFC for a street car. BTW, which rigoli workshop, TRP or V&E?
  6. it will be fine http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR032.l...oop.shtml#image I will be spectating.
  7. Slide, I am not having a go at you. Thanks for the pic.
  8. If it is real, then it would only be for display purposes, as it will not function for a number of reasons, most of which have been given by StockyMcStock. I would think that a teeth belt-driven pulley arrangement would be used, not a v-belt one.
  9. As Lucien said, all of the Ferrari's from the States or Japan will be LHD and the conversion costs will far outweigh any benefit from importing. Also, I doubt that you could import any car that is available locally and under 15 years old, unless it is a personal import. If you were able to import one, I would be looking at one from the UK, that way you don't need to convert it to RHD. Why don't you ask these guys who have already done it. When you find out, please let me know. I would love to import a Ferrari at a much cheaper price. mmm F355 I do know a couple of companies who do this with 15 year old Porsches, but they are much more common and LHD-->RHD conversions are much easier and cheaper.
  10. neil_se, Do you have a customs broker who is taking care of clearance for you? He/she should be able to answer all your questions. My advice would be to pay all the GST, duties and other little fees and get your car our of there ASAP.
  11. IIRC, that GREDDY one was called a fake when it was originally posted. Adrian, I wouldnt mind seeing those pics.
  12. I have also noticed that. I prefer the equal numbers per lane method. Who cares who you race, If you wanted to grudge race then you simply line up behind each other and let the lane marshalls know.

  14. And that quote from the KIPS page is exactly why my insurance wasn't paid out for the damage to my car and stolen items. The car had been in bonded storage for more than 30 days since it arrived and we couldn't prove when the damage or theft occurred. Plus, the car landed in Brisbane and I am in Sydney (and never expected the car to be in customs/bonded storage for so long).
  15. Looks like they changed the staging lanes to have cars of similar engines/performance grouped together. This has its pros and cons, one of which is the fact that you are made to wait even though you get to the track early. I would definitely write in to WSID and highlight this fact to them as it isn't fair from a competitor's point of view. Also, you could get your first run in then spectate for a while and wait until later for alot of the cars who leave early or break down and then get 3 or more runs in during the second half of the night
  16. $$*&$^%$ BASTARDS. Plates? Hope it was recovered intact.
  17. I don't see one positive action in that article. Thank God no one was hurt or killed.
  18. I agree. Take it to the track. You coming, GTR32X? I take it that your username is also your numberplates... I'll race you for pink slips (well, blue slip actually).
  19. I know where i'd rather spend that $800...
  20. And dont forget that even if you warm up the engine's temps to operating range while stationary (eg in the morning), your gearbox wouldn't have had the chance to warm up and would need a few mins to catch up.
  21. Yes, I know a couple of people who like big ttwwiinnss.
  22. %!^$%$$ BASTARDS! I feel for you mate. Sorry to hear, and I really hope you get it back. Always_me, what GTR was stolen and recovered?
  23. SK, what ignition set up do you reccomend with a PFC on a GTR aiming for well over 500rwhp? Would you also recommend using the MAP version or retain the AFM's?
  24. Troy, has your container left Japan yet? Check PM
