Be vary wary... last time I heard that comment "it works on a 350z, it should work on VQ25DET" it cost Jetwreck a lot of wasted money.
The motors in the 350Z and the NM35's are different and so is the ECU.
My word of advice is.... unless they have done it before (and you have seen the results) don't belive them.. they all lie..
I don't understand your comments about leaking if DIY..?
The person who did this install has installed and more turbo's and removed more engines from M35 Stagea's than anyone else in Australia. He has actually taught dealers how to half the time in doing a turbo swap. (Engine out)
I believe the oil leak in this case was due to the fittings supplied not clearing the brackets of the turbo and fouling. I am not sure the DIY reference has anything to do with this scenario.
Cheers
Andy
I use my car as a daily driver/work/family car.
Average economy prior to mods = 12.7L/100 with mods 13.5 - 14.5L/100km.
Servicing costs are cheaper than any other car I have owned as I do all my own work on it. No timing belt to replace and very helpful forum make looking after it possible.
Insurance = 1500 but my stock Outback cost 900 so not much more given that is not business registered. Oh the value of living in Sydney. (over 40 and good driving record)
So what is a a second removal and Install of the turbo going to cost you?
I would have thought that is at least 8 hours extra work at what every rate you have agreed with Jetwreck.
I would call that a terrible build for our car if there is even the slightest possibility that it would require additional work around the turbo that you have now seen is stupidly tight.
I still have nightmares about my turbo change.... seems to always conjure images of half naked girls and orgies... (that is a whole different story... lol )
Scott, maybe we should talk re my Impul ECU... Sounds like it would be far more effective on your car..
Cures, speed cut, boost cut and increased RPM..
Gave the car some love today and did an oil change with Sugi 6000 (last bottle I had ) .
Will need to do a brake service very soon and get the rotors machined.
My safety inspection found my regular problem of a snapped rear swaybar Mount...
Time for Dales super duper ones. and might as well go for the heavy duty links as well.
There are breathes on both sides of the block.
1) drivers side; PCV valve is towards the front of the drivers rocker cover.
2) passenger side: comes off the back of the rocker cover near the fire wall.
Not a lot of room for the passenger side one.
I was speaking to Spoolin12 today and his car threw the 0185 code one week after cutting the wire. It also limited boost to 0.7bar.
This explains why my car threw the 0235 code at the same time. I have a boost controller fitted and the ECU could not alter the boost so it threw a hissy fit.. lol
It is going but not as fast as I would like.
He is working as fast as he can as he is finding new problems to solve in this translation.
When we spoke about a week ago he hoped to have it complete in 3 months but this is far from an absolute date.
So when was the last time you gave $30'000 away to a stranger?
The cost of getting evidence is very high ($30'000) and that is the test is successful...... personally I am happy that someone was prepared to put their money at risk to get the PM's.
Not sure there is any point fitting the trans cooler for the paddle shift as the transmission stops the transfluid going through the cooler when in manual mode...
