  1. mmmm, not really. You may be able to just squeeze it in but most of us who have done any work have removed them to keep the plenum cooler.
  2. Go to your nearest Police Station and lodge a "Late Accident Report" (this is your insurance incase the taxi driver gets difficult). Needs to be done within 48 hours of the accident (I think or could be 24 hours) Get a quote for repair. Contact taxi driver and see if he wants to pay you directly for the repair or go through his insurance (as he is 100% at fault if he hit you from behind). If refuses to be helpful return to the Police station and see if they can help getting the correct details. He will have to pay but you will have to do the leg work instead of your insurer. Good luck
  3. The dump pipe and in particular will make a big difference as there is a massive Cat in the stock one and the 3 inch exhaust will help give a little more in performance. More so in the mid range and a little in the higher revs but the ECu limits the turbo at the upper end of the rev range so there is less benefit there. ECU's: the Jury is still out as we have more testing to do. Will also depend on your goal of performance gain. Plenum Spacer will give a small gain in low end power and help fuel economy through increasing inlet runners and reducing the intake temps through the plenum. Plenum Spacer Swaybars make a big improvement on the ARX, nor sure on the RX. Brake upgrade: R32 Caliper upgrade. This is a big improvement on the stock from brakes. Brembo's are an option but a little more expensive. Cheers Andy
  4. Stephen sometimes there is no benefit in reinventing the wheel. Especially when it is going to cost more money. The current method is very effective and cheap. Something I thought you would appreciate at the moment.
  5. The Dip stick for the Transmission fluid is in the center of the motor at the firewall. Cheers Andy
  6. The TV reception is mostly good whilst driving around urban areas. You will get bad spots and you can pick these as all the houses in the area will have large external antenna on the outside of their homes. The M35 has 4 aerials built into the rear windows, 2 on each side.
  7. careful what you record. you may see things you don't want to.. LOL
  8. Brad is correct, warning message on the screen is the message "no map disc in drive"/ The women talking to you could also be a warning that that there is no card inserted in the ETC card reader. There are options in the ETC section of the Navi menu that include, screen warning, voice warning and a few more. Easy to find when in English to turn this off. Otherwise from memory the ETC menu is the bottom right one of the menu screen and I think it is then the bottom selection again that has the options. Look for a screen that has a series of selectable boxes on the left side (goes green when selected) and you select/deselect them by pressing the wand IN. Good luck. Cheers Andy
  9. Brad, will talk to you soon about getting some connector cables for the OEM tuner.
  10. She usually only talks to you IF there is something wrong. Is there any message on the screen?
  11. That's alright.. I order one of the HR3 for you specially. Cheers Andy
  12. No, not running any adapters. Still with 296mm rotor and R32 Calipers and Hawk pads, this gives a great result. Craig is running the adapters and he is very happy also. But when you go down this path you also need to get different size pads to fit that rotor fully.
  13. I have some extra HR2's if any one is interested.
  14. I am using Hawk pads and they are very good, low dust and great performance with little fade. But I do have R32 calipers and rotors. Have a spare set of front pads if anyone is interested. Cheers Andy
  15. Nice work scott.
  16. Give it time... lol
  17. The crank angle sensors fitted to the VQ35DE & VQ25DET were subject to a Nissan recall because of a high failure rate. There should be a round silver sticker on your car on the drivers upright and this indicates that the car was inspected by Nissan for the recall. The same crank angle sensor was used in Nissan Pulsars imported to Australia of the same vintage and they had the same problem here also. Just one of those small hassles of importing.. but so worth while when the motor is going well.
  18. LOL..... of course he is chasing bigger numbers.... the race is on for HP.. Looks great Scott.
  19. Saw a Black M35 "hover" stagea in a warehouse..... LOL Cheers Andy
  20. Have you cleaned your throttle body? The VQ motors with their drive by wire throttles do not have an idle bypass valve. So if carbon builds up around the throttle butterfly it can block the small gap at idle that is left for air to flow past the throttle butterfly. It sounds like you have enough airflow past the butterfly when cold (more throttle opening with auto choke) but when it is hot the butterfly is opening less and not allowing enough air past the butterfly. I would try cleaning the throttle body with carby cleaner and be very careful of moving the butterfly. I have heard of them loosing their calibration by moving them. I did not have this problem when I cleaned mine. And the PCV is a Major service item and should be changed every 80'000km. It is only $50 from Nissan so not a big outlay for enjoyable motoring. Cheers Andy
  21. There is a weight on the stock exhaust and gearbox. It is an anti vibration device.. +1 on the resonator doing nothing. Blanked mine off and has had no real effect on the car but does give better access to the pipe off the back of the block to fit a catch can..
  22. I met your friendly tire man... he was asking me if I am happy with the car... lol ... love it.
  23. sounds like some sort of electrical short or earthing problem. Were your Xenon headlights disconnected for compliance and reconnected?
  24. I recon you might change your mind about the bolts once you try to remove the Dump pipe...... LOL
  25. you don't want Xenon for high beam as they are slow to come to full brightness and don't like being turned on and off to much.
