I loved the radio call to Hamilton when they said " can you take it easy on the front brakes" (or something to that effect) and Hamilton's reply.... "what, am I here to race them or just circulate" (sorry, probably got the quote wrong but the sentiment is right). Gold

I would guess that it could be an override to allow a TV screen to shown whilst driving (if you have that in your car) Cheers Andy

Nissan Brookvale quoted me $300 for the BCM but there may be an additional charge to programe it to the key. If you tell them your Vin they will work out the part number for you. Just let them know it is an import so they look in the correct file. Good luck. I will have to replace mine one day. Cheers Andy

Shan I don't know who quoted you that price but it is not the price I have recommended the installers do it for SAU members. Send me a PM of who it was please. I have no problem weather I do 1 install on this 100. I am not doing this for the money. I have my own business that has nothing to do with cars and honestly don't mind how little time getting the conversion done takes. Despite R31Nismooids claim that I make profit from doing this I can assure you if not for my passion for the M35 would not even consider organizing the conversions. Why I have a problem with this is the developer spent a lot of time and effort creating a solution for the series 1 V35 & M35 at the request of members from the SAU community. He has followed through and delivered what all the knockers said was not possible. He is prepared to create a solution for the V35 series 2 and the V36 but I can tell you he will have little interest in solving this problem if someone was to hack his hard work. Personally, I morally think it is the wrong thing to do this to him. In fact Shan I believe you said in January 2009 that you would look into doing it and in the last 17months have heard nothing from you. I sorry but I do not believe your claim that it is easy and a few weekends of spare time work. This is just not consistent with all I have been told about the system. But you are the programmer , I am not. The timing of your solution just makes me feel there is more to this than you are letting on. I guess time will tell all. Good luck with your solution. Andy

As you wish. I will change my signature. I am not sure how you think you know what the costs that are involved in doing this but who am I to question your intimate knowledge of what I do. For some reason you seem to have decided that what I am doing is different to other people on this forum. Why? I hope you apply the same standard to all members and users advertising their business on this forum. The only reason I do this is because people wanted it and I had to find a way so that; 1) the developer can be paid his license charge is US$. 2) cover exchange rate variations. 3) members in all states have access to the conversion. 4) the developer felt like he had some form of security. Cheers Andy

The Specdoc replaces the insert that is fitted into the standard ash tray. From what I understand you need to drill a hole in the bottom of the ash tray that is fixed in the car. The ash tray door functions as normal and can be closed when not in use. You can connect 2 ways, 1) via the RCA leads directly into the TV tuner AUX input. (but you will need the adaptor leads for the TV input that goes to RCA plugs) or 2) using the PA11-NSI which they identify as being able to be used with all Ipods and Iphones up to and including 3GS. I can not guarantee this is correct but if you are concerned I would send them and email as from what I have read they are quick to respond and helpful. I was reading about the USA-spec Adaptor and the International adaptor also last night and the best I could work out is that it is only relevant when using a PA11-NSI or similar device (DICE etc). The issue seemed to be about charging and I do not think it applied the the RCA versions. I also took it to mean it was only for older versions and that new ones being sold are compatible for all Ipones upto 3GS. I sure as hell hope this is correct as I don't want to have to order another adaptor..... LOL Cheers Andy

I will update as soon as it arrives. on option 1, I don't believe it will display nav options on the screen, but I could be wrong on this as I have not tried and Iphone on this set up. I currently use an Ipod classic 80gb on a similar set up (ie. connected through the plug on the base to a 3 rca plug lead. On the Ipod I have to select TV "on" to make it show on the cars screen when I play movies. There is an auto option but I have not tried this yet. I know of another M35 driver who bought the option 2, version and I don't know if it will work on his car as he has the single din stereo and I am not sure the PA11 NSI system is compatible. So he may be able to give some advise sooner than me. Cheers Andy

Cold night last night = better performance ..... ..........

Northshore are not advertising something they can not comply. Seems to me Northshore are the ones doing the right thing.

I did buy your gay wheels....lol

I think he got it.... LOL

Looks great Chris. mmmmmm could look good on my car... damn... more work..lol
-
That would be the least of your worries if you bought that car as who would comply it for you? There is only 1 workshop with the evidence to comply this model and they are only complying vehicles they import. Cheers Andy

I haven't done it yet but just about to. They have 2 options. 1) Control via the Ipod only. This version has three RCA plugs (audio L&R + video) and power. 2) Control via the stereo control. This version uses and PANSI connector and these will only ever do audio. I am just about to order option 1 once I confirm when I will get my Iphone. Trader.... that is an interesting concept given the shit I have been given in this forum for trying to find a solution to a problem and making it accessible to the members of the SAU forum. Firstly... I have never used SAU brand in conjunction with telling people about this product. It is called Xanavi.ru I think it is very unprofessional of you to post this accusation in public forum with no basis of truth or knowledge of what I am doing. My mobile is listed in my signature and I am happy to discuss this with anyone from SAU. I can not believe you have posted this S#$t when no one from SAU has ever spoken to me about it. Accuse first and get the truth later. If I recall correctly SAU deleted all posts on a similar basis last year when people pointed out that one of their advertisers was offering cars for sale that could not be complied in Australia. So what defines a business trader....... Promoting a business in a signature? Promoting something that SAU members may want for their car? Having got my M35 in 2007 I wanted the menu's in English and no one had a solution. I found a guy in Russia who could offer a solution. I have then spent the next 2 years following it up consistently so it would become available. Personally I had the english conversion 1.5 years ago and had no need for any more but that people wanted it. I don't think my powers of persuasion are that good that I can convince some one in Russia to spend months working on a problem and then give it away. Personally I don't care if I do another conversion as the amount of money I make off doing this does not justify the time or cost to me. On a side note maybe you can help solve the problem that I paid for my membership on the 12th December 09 and still have not received my members pack. Cheers Andy

I am not sure what your motivation is to do this when there is a solution in place at a cost that would probably closer to your hourly rate for some one with your skill. If you really want to do something really useful see if you can make a map disc for use in the car. That is truly something unique that no one else has been able to solve. Cheers Andy

Mine is bolted across the rear of the car a bit wider than the tailgate behind the bumper. It then has a small tongue that runs under the spare wheel and is bolted there also. That weight sounds a bit more than I would tow as the tow bar is not the heavy duty kind and I think that would be a fraction too much weight if you had to stop in a hurry. Cheers Andy
-
The tow bar I have is from Fast fit and is rated to 1250kg unbraked. I have towed a 7x4 highside trailer with a ful load and 2 windsurfers strapped to the top. Also done another trip recently loaded to the top and 4 bikes on top. The car tows effortlessly and economy is not that bad if you can keep at a constant pace. I am not sure that towing a box trailer is any risk to the rear sub frame but I guess it depends on how much weight you load on the tow ball. But as Duncan said, none of the cars he has seen with a faulty sub frame have tow bars so I am not sure that you can relate this failure to the ability of the car to tow.
