It was so much fun.

I would agree that is where the boost stabilizes to but I still claim to see 14psi on the initial application of throttle. I may have to go to the dyno to prove this. So the ARX does have more boost than the RS-RX...... LOL.

That is not normal. Have a look for the method of reading the diagnostic codes in this section. That will tell you what is creating the fault code. Cheers Andy

very soon.

mmmmmm, isn't that what I said? He was running different offset front to rear. and yes, I know the difference.

Now you are asking the million dollar question of "How & Why". There is so little information available off the shelf we are still trying to work out the "WHY" part. If we knew the answer it would be really easy but all we know at the moment is that a number of people in the early days of the M35 put staggered offsets on their cars and the ATTESA was acting up. Also I have seen one car that has put on staggered offset and he said he had no problem but he has now sold his car. But we need more people to experiment so I say go for the staggered offset and let us know how you go.

Even another Andrew with a M35. Yes, it is possible to sort out the TV tuner to work locally (I have plus a few others) but the personally previously selling the units on the forum is not doing them any more. I know Chris Rogers has a solution but I do not know the cost. Cheers Andy

I am sure we will have a solution for Perth (just a road trip away) in the near future. Cheers Andy

It may be irrelevant on a C34 but we are talking about a M35. There have been a number of people try different offsets with mixed results. Mostly not successful.

Sevs Ruling On Stageas Past Dec 2003

It is worth some one spending the money because the person who pays for the compliance owns the license and can sell it to other people who want to comply that vehicle. and yes, it cost a lot to pass the different tests to get vehicles up to 2007. I believe that it is on the cards soon. -

sounds like a good guess to me. -
No idea about the BOV but from what I have read about modded cars in Japan, most have stuck with the standard BOV as little benifit was found in fitting any others. As for wheels, be aware that most the RWD Nissan's (AKA, 350Z V35's) have staggered offsets on the wheels front to back. As they do not have to worry about haveing the same rolling diameter on both front and back. With the M35 you need equal offset and rolling diameter front and rear or the ATTESA can be buggered up. IF you ever want to look at Brembo's or R32 brakes on the front you will need to make sure you have offset of about 36 to clear the callipers. Good luck. Cheers Andy

Yes you can bring them in but no one to date has spent the money to get the engine passed the emission test. Until that is done we can only bring in the models upto 11/03 with the VQ25DET motor. But this may change when some one decides to get the motor passed. -
Seems odd that the branch fell with no wind, could not have been that health if it just fell. Have you got a photo of the branch that fell, where it split from the tree trunk, branch and tree. That will show there was any rot or if it had split prior. Good luck. Cheers Andy

Good find... -
that's one hell of a branch to fall on your car.... thank god for insurance. Does that mean no excess as you can identify the at fault tree.....LOL

Stock turbo but with good venting. 3 inch for the the turbo back. It now spools much earlier. You are probably right that it boosts earlier but I always find it difficult to watch the boost as it comes on v the road where I am going as it get moving quickly at this point. I guess the real think I notice is that in 1st gear you never feel like you have much boost till 3000rpm when the throttle will open fully.
-
Correct. Manual Subaru's are 50/50 split. Auto's are mostly FWD until slip is detected but still better than the Honda system.
-
So many questions. LOL Auto: The auto is probably he weakest link. reliable but just a bit slow at reacting. A bit better in tiptronic mode. Turbo: The turbo is very liner. Starts to boost from around 2800 rpm with max torque at 3200 rpm. The 4WD is the ATTESA system with a manual override syncro mode that gives 50/50 split up to 40kph. There is also a snow mode that starts in 2nd gear, splits torque 50/50 and reduces throttle response. The basis of the system is to the rear but puts torque to the front wheels depending on acceleration and g-sensor. NO dual zone climate control, just single zone climate control. Yes, the boot is awesome.

Got Wheels On My M35 - Lots Of Pics!

I am so jealous. (the only way they could be any better was if they in dark gun metal and then they would be perfect for my silver ARX, LOL) I have no idea about the ATESA issue. Are you getting any fault codes? Have you checked the fluid in the ATESA bottle? Other wise not sure what it is. Cheers Andy -
All depends what you need and value. ARX has a bit more clearance (but mine is now the height of a 250T), 18" wheels, LSD, Super HICAS and nice leather interior plus the track is 10mm wider. AXIS is much the same but better suspension, slightly lower, NO LSD, NO Super HICAS but better quality leather interior. 250T RS can also be leather, lower suspension, 17 inch wheels. My pick is between ARX and AXIS. Wish I got the sunroof. The gearbox problem is to do with the V35 GT8 which has the CVT 8 speed gear box. Cheers Andy

I have had a few Subbies over the last 12 years, * Liberty GX * Forrester (had it for 10 years and 204km) * Liberty RX sedan (only kept it for 1 year) * Outback 04 (wife has it now with 125km) 2.5L manual So I love my Subbies and they go very well and are very reliable. BUT I have had my M35 ARX for 2 years and 60K driven and I love it. I get back into the Outback and it is nice to drive but it has nothing compared to the Stagea past 3500rpm and the handling is very soft and certainly quieter than my slightly improved car. I am not a mechanic and I do most of the servicing on my car myself and it is so easy. Parts are easy to get, at the worst case it is 2 weeks from Japan for odd parts from Nissan. The good thing now is that there are few more on the road and lots of information so some parts are easier to get and there is so much knowledge about that most problems are reasonably easily solved. The ARX at a minimum needs some improvement in the suspension as it gets on as it can become quite soft. Sway bars made a huge difference and new shocks and springs just finished off the job. 2 years later and I have absolutely no regrets. Cheers Andy
