most fun I have had in a long time in the car. 25kmh hairpins and 45-55kmh narrow bends.... manual in 2-3rd all the way. So much fun steering with the right foot.

I got around 8.5-8.8km/L on the trip to the snow on the weekend and that included some really fun driving coming back from Mt Selwyn. 25km of winding roads up and down a valley around the Tumut dam. Then off on another 120km of back roads with logging trucks doing 115km/h so over taking was fun. I then filled at Goulburn, set the cruise on 120km/h and got 11.4km/L back into Sydney. Got to love that. But it is going down fast now driving in Sydney traffic again.

I look forward to hearing what you get out of this turbo and how it feels off the mark. Cheers Andy

Panasonic Dvd And Gps Unit In Stagea

Are you saying that the DVD rom has a an input for Video? If so, how do you get this input to play on the screen? Cheers Andy -
scotty, That looks great. Do you know how big it is built, ie. Gt30 or Gt25. It looks a bit smaller than Danny's. Can you say what the cost was? Cheers Andy

From what I have read you would still need to keep the PCV valve in place, but you would now run the pipe from the PCV to the catch can, and run the other line back to the manifold where the hose from the PCV went in. The catch can is just designed to filter any oil from the air before it goes back into the manifold. I don't think you need to connect the passenger side pipe as that pipe comes from the air intake and should not have any contaminants. It's job is to allow air into the crank case so that a vacuum is not created in the crankcase. Cheers Andy

Spotted a few Stagea's over the weeked at the snow. Friday spotted Angus Smart in his M35. Sunday, spotted a white M35 leaving the old shopping centre and a silver C34 S2 in the back carpark.

Haltech Interceptor For The M35 ( Envy Imports )

Hi Dan Have you checked your PCV valve? When Craig changed his he said he had more boost and mine was seriously bleeding off as it was totally rooted. My PCV valve was sticking open and only getting 9psi. Just pull it out, turn it upside down, if the plug falls down and leaves it open then it is stuffed. Cheers Andy -
Just Fitted A Boost Guage To My M35 Today

Hi Ben I work at Cromer and have the Charleston Exhaust if you want to hear it in person. Mine is 3 inch from the dump pipe back with a highflow cat. Cheers Andy -
I guess as it is the VQ35DE it would have performance similar to a V35 but with a heavier body. From what I have read the V35 coupe is doing about a 6.7-6.9 0-100 and the M35 is meant to be about 6.5 - 6.7 0-100. So I would imagine it would be a tad slower than the Vq25DET. I also saw today that the 2WD version of the PM35 has a slightly higher diff ration than that of the 4WD version. I guess this is because it would be putting a little more power to the driving wheels (2 only) than the 4WD equivalent.

no drama, great work you are doing. I am looking forward to hearing the results. When do you want the turbo? Cheers Andy

I'll rent you our spare bed at our house. LOL Huge upside * close to work * Rent pays for mods on my car * Don't have to see your wife till the weekend Just tell he the commute is getting you down and you need to stay local. hehehehe -
I love having it in the car. I am ofter driving home around 6pm so it is good to here the news and if something interesting is on I will flick the screen up. (with the car stopped of course).

take the light power off your cigarette lighter. It has to be useful for something. LOL

Actually, thinking about it the M35 as factory spec may have 4 antenna. There are 4 leads that are brought into pairs when wiring into the local tuner so this may be why my reception is so good.

I have just read the internet for general information. You may be right that any valve will work but as I said, I am not really sure. You are right in your description but I can tell you when it is not sitting right it can really stuff up your car. I am not sure what you mean about the catch can but my understanding is that the catch can is used to filter oil out of the blow by gas before the air goes back into the manifold. If you know better how the PCV works please enlighten us all.

I am not really sure if you could put anything else in there. My gut feeling is no, as normally Nissan would have substitute parts listed if not available and they did not offer any substitute.

I'll have to remember to make all my drags with you no longer than across an intersection. LOL Beyond that you will be goneeeeeeeee. -
I am sure a few of you have read my posts about trying to get my idle right on my M35. 6 months of trouble shooting, a bit of money tossed away (fortunately not too much) and many hours of reading and thinking of a solution I worked out that it was a faulty PCV valve. Nissan could not work that out. For those of you not familiar with this item it is a Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve (PCV Valve), and it's role is to let air/gas that blows past the piston rings escape from the crankcase. If it can not escape it creates a lot of pressure in the motor which starts to create oil leaks at gaskets as the oil is put under a lot of air pressure especially in a turbo car. There are pro's and con's about this gas being recirculated back into the manifold after the butterfly as it is putting oily, petroled air back into the cylinders which is not ideal for the performance of the car. This is why many high performance cars opt for a catch can but legally you are not allowed to vent this gas straight into the air. Anyway it seems the more I have reserched it is a part that is normally serviced/replaced at a major service inerval. The effects of a fauly PCV can be varied and will largely not be visible when driving your car but some of the signs can be; - excess boost bleeding off - idle not resetting correctly - high idle The PCV should under normal operation should operate the following way. 1) At idle: should not allow any gas into the manifold. 2) Under light to medium throttle: Suck open the valvewith the high vacume of the manifold and allow gas to pass to the manifold. 3) Under full acceleration: The pressure in the crankcase will push open the valve and allow gas to enter the manifold. If you are trying to reset your "Idle Air Volume Learning" with a faulty PCV it will not set the idle correctly, as it makes the car idle faster and does not allow the car to memorise the idle (sets only between 600-700). If your idle is not in this range then you may well have a faulty PCV. (it is soooo niceeee haveing a car that idles at 625rpm ) The part number from Nissan is 11810-8J102. Cost is about $50 Not generally held in stock and about 7 days fro Japan. It is located on the top of the right bank (drivers side) near the front of the car. If you follow the metal intake piping from the throttle body to where it joins the rubber piping coming from the Intercooler, it is located just below this junction. It will have a pipe leading from the PCV back to the manifold (it is the one nearest the metal brace on the drives side of the manifold towards the cabin)(hope that made sense ) When I removed mine the valve was moving freely inside the the body, not only up and down but side to side. Whilst a new one will rattle when you shake it, it is not meant to move side to side. I have spoken to a one other M35 driver who has changed his and he was shocked at how much less the boost bled off in higher revs. I hope my 6 months of pain helps you guys avoid this pitfall. Cheers Andy

That is the unit I have. It is the best. From memory Chook was selling them for about $350 so $500 sounds a bit steep.

M35 Bose Cd Player Issue Cd Err Fo
andy65b replied to scottnothing's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Mine did that to me when I disconnected the battery to install the steering wheel controls. When I reconnected the battery and went to test the steering wheel control I noticed that it had that error message. To fix mine, I kept turning the Power button on the unit on/off. After about 1 hour of doing this if fixed it's self. The only thing I was doing was turning it on, listening for the mechanism to power up amd start moving, when I could not here it moving any more I would turn it off for a couple of minutes. I think I was lucky but worth a try. Cheers Andy -
I have a M35 that had the factory TV installed in Japan, so antenna (dual) are installed in the side windows either side of the boot. I had to install a local tuner to make it work (supplied by forum member "chook") but the results are great. Reception is very stable but in area's of difficult reception the signal will drop out. You can pick these area's by the size of the antenna's on the houses around. Very happy with the result. Cheers Andy
