the Bilstein shocks for the M35 were a special make up for the Japanese distributor of Bilstein. there were made to his specs and I believe they are not an option for any other distributor to buy as minimum order was 100 units or more. Cheers Andy

Semi Auto Gearbox, Can We Make It Better?
andy65b replied to V35 Matt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I ended up deciding to make up my own kit on the weekend. I looked at lots of pics from the G35 Driver site to work out where all the earth cables were placed and to then make my own plan for the VQ25DET. I have ended up with I think a reasonable set up but I still have to earth the ECU. Has it made a difference.....................it's not worse but is it noticeably better is hard to say. My idle has been a bit high for the last 6 months and I would say it is at least 50rpm lower which is good. Acceleration is certainly crisp and the motor is smooth. Gear change may be a fraction better but not a big change. At the total cost of $45 plus 2 hours I think it was worth while. I will post up some pics tomorrow. Cheers Andy -
I am happy now as I just went for a drive and the boost is back to normal 14psi. Only question left to answer is why did it limit the boost to 9psi earlier tonight? all stock including exhaust, maybe time for that new exhaust after all. I was reading that a cat can collapse and limit boost or the waste gate could have been partly stuck open. Maybe i should just ignore it and wait for something to fail.

Hi Guys My M35 ARX stagea on the way home tonight felt a big sluggish. I watched the boost gauge as I gave it a push an noticed it only boosts to 9psi. Normal boost is 14/15psi (standard for M35 stagea). It comes on as early as it used to, 2800 rpm = 9psi, but it will just not boost beyond this level. Any suggestions? There are no obvious changes to the car other wise. Only thing different this week is I put shell 98 instead of Mobil 98. Cheers Andy

Semi Auto Gearbox, Can We Make It Better?
andy65b replied to V35 Matt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yes, they are for the left hand drive cars with battery on the opposite side. The V35 may not have as big a problem with compatibility as the only thing they seemed worried about was the earth on the plenum. The universal kit may be easier but I am not sure if they would be as good. I read about one kit from a name brand that got really bad reviews but the ones designed for the G35 that included earths to gearbox and ECU seemed to rate very well. I might have to do a better search on the Japanese sites but the US sites a so much easier to understand. Some one has to teach those yanks to drive on the correct side of the road! LOL -
Semi Auto Gearbox, Can We Make It Better?

I read a lot of comments yesterday about the earthing kits on the G35 Driver site. There are a lot of reviews from people claiming improved shifting of the gear box and response from the motor. They are not claiming more hp, just an improvement in smoothness of the motor, more instant throttle response (that would not be hard on a M35) and faster shifts in manual mode. All these things sound great and for the cost of a kit I will happily experiment with the idea. Just got to find a good kit now. I emailed 2 people offering kits (the better reviewed ones) and 1 replied. I sent some images of the M35 motor and he can not guarantee it will fit as there are some major differences in the intake and not the same earthing points. He was not confident to say it would work without seeing the engine which might be a bit hard. If anyone knows of a kit locally and a contact that would be great? Cheers Andy -

Spotted an all black ARX on Victoria road this morning. Would have guessed Jetwreck but he has red bands on his wheels and was driving way to slow. LOL

I know what michael means, when you read the thread is the Stagea section you have to look to see who posted it and what car they drive to get an idea about it's suitability for your car.

They are still working on the security of the firmware update. Being based in Russia they are not prepared to give out a disc that can then be pirated and they will never make any money for their efforts. Yes it is frustrating to be waiting longer than the initial quoted time frame. To be fair we are at 15 months but I understand every one is being very patient. I send an email every couple of weeks to see where we are at but they just can not tell me a fixed date at this stage. As soon as I know some definate information I will post it. Cheers Andy

No, this is a Cruise kit the Ben helped me arrange from a Sydney installer when I bought the car in 2007. God, that is a long time ago. Not quite as neat as Chris's kit but certainly effective. I think I could improve it slightly if I tried but it was great for sit back and relax.

Stagea Series 2 / M35 Digital Tv Upgrade
andy65b replied to chook's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
It can be difficult to get the panel off with out removing the floor. It will come out though with a bit of effort. I think you will have to remove the cover for the tools but this one is reasonable easy. On the carpeted side panel, there is a black plug that needs to be removed by popping the top out (or maybe screw it), it is a bit difficult and you will need remove the panel next to the passenger seat over the rear wheel arch. Cheers Andy -
I had to go to Canberra this week so I thought I would test the economy of the car for the highway. I rest the economy gauge as I left Canberra, set the cruise control on 118 (actual of 114 on the GPS) and let the car do the driving. The car was fully loaded with all my stock from a trade show so had a decent load on board. As I turned off the M5 at Bankstown the economy was 10.4km/L (not bad), but I arrived back at 5.45 smack bang into peak hour traffic. By the time I got home to West Ryde, economy was 9.8. Today on a new tank commuting in Sydney peak hour, I back at 6.9. Cheers Andy

It's OK we just won't post our info for Danny if we are all being secretive. Danny, seriously the whole point of this forum is to help each other!

What model M35 do you have, ARX, RX or RS. Makes a big difference to the suspension options. I would guess you can get the bushes from Nissan but there may be other options at a better cost. I guess first work out the part number. There is a whole thread on the suspension options. The Swaybars that were made were under the Selby brand, not white line. Unfortunatly I believe they are no longer in business and I am not sure if anyone else has made the swaybars. They are definatley a big improvement in handeling. The upside is that the rear swaybar is identical to the V35/350z. The front is different. Cheers Andy

Come on Danny! who was your quote from?

LOCAL UPDATE There is a company in Leichardt, Sydney (Fast Fit) that has engineered a tow bar to fit the M35. It is not a heavy duty tow bar and is rated about 1000kg (the women I spoke to was not 100% sure this was the right rating so I suspect it will be 1250kg as this is the rating of most normal towbars). It is concealed behind the bumper and has a straight tongue. (sounds like the one from NZ) Price quoted. $490 including fitting and wiring. I think I will go with the local option. Cheers Andy PS. Thanks for all the info Rhys
