1. News to me? They are insuring mine as a daily business car. Good luck.
2. You can get a Bilstein kit for the ARX that drops the car about 35mm from standard ride height. This does not cause any problem for the suspension settings and the camber is still within normal operating range. I am not sure if any of the other suspension brands offer a kit for the ARX. Make sure any kit you get is for the ARX as the RX & RS sit 40mm lower on standard springs. To fit a kit for one of these other models would end up with the car about 70mm lower and I am quite sure you would have problems with wheel clearance on the front guards. I also fitted adjustable swaybars front and rear. The standard ones are hollow and the new set are solid. rear went from 18mm hollow to 24mm solid. Fron went from 29mm hollow to 30mm solid. This made a big difference to the balance and in particular the turn in of the car. Good luck with your shopping. Cheers Andy
3. It looks like your car did not come with the Factory optioned, TV/GPS option. Without this option you will not get all the other functions related to Fuel economy, trip computer etc. If you look around you will find some where a module that is controlling the GPS and TV that you are getting. If you have the factory TV tuner it will be behind the passenger side rear kick panel in the boot. It would be easier with your set up to see if you can plug in another TV tuner or GPS module to get these features if this is what you are after. Cheers Andy
4. I have a M35 but the engines are very similar. I recently had the Check engine light coming on intermittently (over several months) and eventually it got worse. Turned our to be the Cam Angle Sensor. The final stages were highlighted by the car stalling at odd times whilst driving. The reason I mention this is that I was told that the Cam Angle sensor have seen recalls on this part as they were known to be a potential faulty part. It was between 2001-2003 that it seem to effect. Good luck finding your problem, I will be interested to see if you change your plugs and O2 sensor as I have had similar fuel economy issues over the last 4 months but not made any conclusion about the cause. Cheers Andy
5. I also called the Paddington cops. They said that the plates were probably removed by them and it is awaiting Council to come and pick it up. Don't know if this is right but tried to help any way.
6. The M35 turbo is quite unique. IE. nothing like it at all. It is a ceramic turbine but ball bearings on the shaft. It seems that most of the turbo problems have happened after our very hot summer. There seems to be merit in the larger intercooler. I am told that the turbo is in such a tight space and close to the engine that heat tends to be it's undoing. It is not described as the most efficient turbo but it does suite the purpose on this engine quite well. Cheers Andy
7. Spotted a white M35 (not sure which model) heading south at Tarren Point with 3 bikes on the roof around 10am today. Looked at the bikes first and then realized as I looked in the mirror that it was a M35. Also spotted the dumped white S2 in .................. whilst out and about. (if you have had your car stolen this may be yours) Cheers Andy
8. hmmmmm. ......... I saw this also. It is left in a spot that would have to be dumped. Has any one called the cops to advise? Cheers Andy
9. Craig, Have a look at this link for the Nismo stickers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nismo-strip...181210008r31061 Cheers Andy
10. I have an extended warranty so need it done by authorized service center.
11. No more stalling, so yes, all good. Cheers Andy
12. I had my Cam angle sensor replaced and oil change done by them and they were very helpful and cost was reasonable. I think you can do many of the in between servicing at more local places but it is a good idea to get Nissan to service it every 30k or so so they can check the computer. Cheers Andy
13. I have SVW wheels ( I think ) that are 18 x 8 with +36 offset. This is needed to clear the r32 calipers on the front. Tyres are nothing special being 225/55/18.
14. They are far enough apart that they will support a 11 foot windsurfer or 2 so they are not too bad. The good thing about where they are placed is that you can still open the tailgate fully with items on top. Cheers Andy
15. Welcome to the world of Stagea's. Pics please. Cheers Andy
16. I first upgraded to Hawke pads in the standard brakes which was a good improvements. And no dust. Then upgraded to R32 GTR calipers and slotted rotors with Bendix Ultimate pads. Much more bite in the brakes now but not tested for fade after series of heavy braking. It is a fairly easy upgrade with only minor modifications required. remove dust cover behind caliper. (could be trimmed if you want to spend more time) Grind back the bottom of one bracket about 3mm for clearance of the rotor Other than that it is the same as doing on any other Stagea. Cheers Andy
17. Welcome to the world of luxury motoring with a performance thrown in for good measure. Cheers Andy
18. I don't know about the sticker but mine had a bit of yellow paint on each cam sensor. I think this was done to indicate they had been checked. mmmm. obviously not that well. My VIN falls out side the range they show, NM35 315xxx but the build date is in the range, 03/03.
19. Update on the stalling problem. I had the Cam Angle sensor replaced today. Stalling is now fixed. They said that the Nissan Pulsar 2001-2002 model had a similar problem around 2002 with a faulty cam angle sensor. They reset the idle which they tell me should be around the 750 mark. See if this helps fuel economy. Not sure it will as rolling down the road with a stalled engine is very economical. LOL. Although not that safe when you have to stop or turn a corner. I became very good at it in the end, realized you just need to crank the motor over to get some brakes and steering. Cheers Andy
20. I did some more research on the weekend end and I stand corrected. It looks like one side is the Fuel pump, the other side is the fuel gauge. Cheers Andy
21. In a 2003 M35 ARX. The Air vents are in the back of the center console (between front seats). 2 of them and they can be closed. Also vents under the seats. Cheers Andy
22. My car is not the same model, M35 ARX, but my engine light cam on and went off a couple of days later and all ran perfectly for a couple of months. It now has become a problem and runs but has got worse. turns out to be Cam Angle sensor is failing. May not be the same problem but it would suggest something is on its way out. see how long you can get it to last. Cheers Andy
23. Ok, Time to really start saving. I'll have to give up spending money on the bike riding and put some focus on saving.
24.

It is a little bit difficult to tell from the images in the service manual. I will look for the part number tonight and that, with the price may give you a clue. Me, I have no idea. Cheers Andy
25. No I had fault code "340" which is the crank angle sensor. But then again, maybe it has both faults.
