  1. Ahhhaaa. I have it. It is inside the fuel pump in the fuel tank. It is a Fuel level sensor/fuel filter and fuel pump all in one. Pull out your back seat and you will see the tank under the seat. From what I can see on the pics, there will be a large round section on either side of the car. One side, I think the drivers side will have the unit. It will have a single lead coming out of a rubber cover that looks to go towards the front of the car. If you have the G35 service manual have a look in the file FL, page 5. I will have a look for the part number tonight. Cheers Andy
  2. Shit, If I could solve my problems that cheaply and quickly I would be there in a flash. Lucky for you they still can't work out your problems so nothing to be done at the moment.
  3. I had my car diagnosed by Nissan today for why the motor just stops when running. Also difficult to start. Error code was 304, It is the Crank Angle Sensor on the right bank. Will have it fitted on Monday, cost $340 fitted. Lets hope this solves all my problems. Cheers Andy
  4. Mine has done similar things. Used to stall when breaking hard and revs would dip and then stall. I have reset the Throttle Position Switch (TPS) which seemed to temporarily fix the problem but idle was a bit too high at 850rpm. Recently the problem has got worse with the car stalling whilst driving. Some times when coasting other times when accelerating. It is also hard to start now. Also have check engine light on dash. (this may be a similar fuel pressure thing) I have the car booked into Nissan for a service on Friday so it will be interesting to see what fault codes are showing and what they mean. The car has 78K on it and has not had the plugs replaced so I am thinking this may be contributing. Other things that I suspect may be problems are power steering fluid (as I saw this was a problem for another M35) or possible the O2 sensor. Any way I will post up what it turns out to be. Have a look at the "Stagea Stalling" thread as the way of getting the codes and resetting the TPS are in that thread. Cheers Andy
  5. Yes, Flared guards front and rear. It also has a wider track. About 10mm front and rear from memory. Cheers Andy
  6. mmmm, that is low. Mine is an ARX so started life at 180mm clearance and I fitted Bilstien shocks and springs that lowered it around 45mm. So should be around 135mm clearance now. Also the front bar has a bit more clearance than the RS and RX models. I know some others fitted bilstein shocks and other brands of springs, some were initially too low so they have either raised the front on different circlip settings or changed springs to increase height. I am very happy with my height as I don't scrape in the city unless I have a full load (5 people + luggage) and then I can occasionaly rub the bellie. Any lower on the front of the ARX and the wheels would scrape on the wheel arces as they just touch when going into driveways. Are the front shocks adjustable? Cheers Andy
  7. Welcome to the M35 world of cars. Lots of fun to be had with these cars. I swear you C34 guys must be jealous of our luxury. But seriously, I do know what you mean. We have more in common with V35's but they are too slow with their N/A motor's. They also think differently from us parctical drivers who prefer a wagon with a bit of room for the family and my toys. Cheers Andy
  8. the development of the English conversion beyond 10/04 is dependent on the number of cars imported into Russia that would justify him working out the code to do the translation. I would think it is only a matter of time till there is enough demand from his home market but currently he is fully committed to finish the current conversion. I am sure he will look at other systems as soon as he has completed the current project. Cheers Andy
  9. It doesn't count in bumper to bumper traffic.
  10. Look Now, just because I smoke a pipe and wear a twead hat is now reason to label me a slow driver. LOL At leas my car makes the 0-100km/h time faster than a B double.........even with me driving it.
  11. I believe the cut off for the change of software on the V35 is 10/2004. Hope that helps. Cheers Andy
  12. Me thinks you are right about that stuffing the free flowing....... The guy I spoke to said it is just about having the right volume muffler. If they have too much volume they do not fill completly and then get that booming sound.
  13. I was quoted about $900 for a custom mandrel bent exhaust. I will probably go this way.
  14. mmmm, good question. I want it to stay reasonably quiet. So I have to talk to a couple of exhaust companies and see what they offer and at what price. Logic says I should get it done from the turbo with a new dump and need to make it flow better as I understand the restrictions make the turbo hot and the turbo needs as much cooling as possible. But budget may have a telling result on what I can do. Cheers andy
  15. Was just about to start a new thread but saw there was a topic about towbar's for M35 so though I would add to it instead. I was told today that some one in Sydney now has a design to fit a tow bar to the M35. I do not know the specifics of the tow bar or the cost yet but I believe that will be available soon. My reliable source was Ben, at North Shore Prestige. Looking better all the time. Cheers Andy
  16. got my own story now. Parking in Argyle st in the city I had problems getting any of the meters to accept a credit card. Rang and told them about the fault. That sort of covers in case I get a ticket but then they say that when the technician comes and checks the machine, if he finds it works the I will not get off any parking ticket issued. I then spot a Parking Officer giving a ticket and figure I need to make sure I don't get a ticket. I ask him to watch whilst I try and pay by CC, FAIL again and he goes OK, no problem I will not give you a ticket, you have 2 hours of parking as per the sign post. He then say's which is your car...... I say, The silver wagon second from the end of the line of cars. What does he say............you guessed right........YOU MEAN THE VOLVO! arrrrrggggghhhhh. LOL andy
  17. I agree that 7500 is a good interval. That is what I do on mine and as Cameron said it only needs, oil, oil filter, and check other fluids. I am going to do my spark plugs at 78'000 k's and I will let you know if it makes any difference to economy or the feel of the power. Cheers Andy PS. looks like my exhaust will be a local job as sourcing one from Japan (at a reasonable cost) has not worked. Time to start planning what it will be.
  18. I managed to get it to work eventually for me and got 0000 also. No closed to knowing why idle is 150rpm too high but I will start looking for leaks around the throttle body and a few other areas. Cheers Andy
  19. Cool, thanks. That is the way I am looking to go. Cheers Andy
  20. don't worry about it. If it has has the double din in dash 6 cd changer then you can always install the steering control after you get it. It was only about $65 from memory and takes 1/2 hour to install.
  21. Will any of these work for OBDII consult cars? ie, 2003 M35 Cheers Andy
  22. Welcome back from hibernation Tony. Sorry to hear we are losing you from the Stagea world. I hope that reprogram comes of age soon, mind you most of us are probably going to be reluctant to step up with the cash in the current economic climate. Cheers Andy
  23. mmmmmm, interesting stuff. Went through the procedure and made no difference to mine, still idles at 800 rpm. Must be something else. Looks like I need to stick my head under the bonnet. Might also get the Blatz software and cable so I can see the outputs of all the sensors and see if they are all correct. I would rather spend $200 that way and be able to solve my problems than donate $400 + to Nissan to solve the problem. Cheers Andy
  24. You mentioned that you were not sure what they did with plugs at compliance. The standard plugs for these cars are Platinum or something similar and are good for 80-100k km. I have been reading about the Blatz, IBDII software and cable and from what I have read, although there is a lot more to read, it should help with the fault codes and allow you to reset them. At about $200 bucks it sounds like a good investment. http://www.blazt.biz/index.php I have also listed below the info from the manual. Some of this may help. Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning ABS0003L DESCRIPTION “Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning” is an operation to learn the fully released position of the accelerator pedal by monitoring the accelerator pedal position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector of accelerator pedal position sensor or ECM is disconnected. OPERATION PROCEDURE 1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released. 2. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds. 3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds. 4. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 2 seconds. 5. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds. Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning ABS0003M DESCRIPTION “Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning” is an operation to learn the fully closed position of the throttle valve by monitoring the throttle position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector of electric throttle control actuator or ECM is disconnected. OPERATION PROCEDURE 1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released. 2. Turn ignition switch “ON”. 3. Turn ignition switch “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds. Make sure that throttle valve moves during above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound. Cheers Andy
  25. There is no way to adjust the idle speed. It is all done from the TPS and the computer. Try and look for the G35 service manual on line. Lots of useful information that relates to our cars. Cheers Andy
