Iwas just looking on Import Monster and saw a Tanabe Kit. I remember that last year some one in WA had C-Red install a Tanabe kit on their ARX with no drama. This is a link to a kit on Import monster for the Tanabe kit, http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?url=h...&title=NM35.

I think it is too much too assume that they will fit the ARX. The only kit I could find that fits the ARX was the Bilstein kit. ARX ground clearance = 180mm RS/RX = 140mm So if you fit a RS kit to an ARX and drop it it will drop almost 80mm which will to much IMO.

I think if you try to lower the car toooo far the HICAS may be an issue but the drop of 40mm with the kit I have installed has not caused any issue. Tyre wear has not suffered and handeling is just great, city and open road. SydneyKid helped me (did the most) install the suspension and checked it all out for toe, and camber and it all sits perfectly with this mild drop. I know at least one other ARX that has had the same shocks but different springs that sits his car a tad lower and all is great. The tyres sit about 30mm below the wheel arch so plenty of clearance. You need to bear in mind that the suspension set up on this wagon is not like any other wagon you have seen before. It is basically the same as the 350Z set up so it is very advanced for a wagon. In top of that you have a 52/48 weight distribution so with good shocks and control over the body (read stiffer swaybars) the car is a great car to drive. The ARX standard suspension is quite soft and on my car with 43K km on the clock, the suspension had become soo soft the shock could be compressed by hand.

Hi Sean There is no problem lowering the ARX. I have fitted the Bilstein kit that drops it around 40mm (140mm clearance) (the camber is about -1 to -1.5 degree F&R) and with the 18inch wheels it fills the arches perfectly. The only concern is that the Bilstein distributor in Japan who had these kits made no longer has any stock and you need to source a kit in the Japanese retail market. But the car is transformed in performance with the suspension and solid sway bars from Selby's. The only performance benifit of the ARX is that it is fitted with a LSD standard. The Axis is not. I have not seen it but some one the other day mention that they have a "Winter Edition" which included a heated front windscreen. Is it possible for that? Cheers Andy

You have it in one. NM35 = 4WD. Most of these cars will be referred to as M35's but if looking at auctions make sure they are NM35 if you want the 4WD. Cheers Andy

Spotted a Silver M35 Axis at Forrestville just before 7pm tonight. My Guess it was Parmour.

where there is a will there is a way....LOL. I have so much to spend to keep up with the Jones that I have given up trying to keep up to date. I have my own special time table that is verrrrrryyyy slow. LOL But it would be great to have a RC Stagea to muck around with.

I was thinking that would be great this morning also. I could run a nice 4wd set up under it or put in on my 2wd........ Would be good inspiration to get may cars going again.

From memory it is, F4-SE5-A163-M0. (but pls make sure this is correct when you look) Cheers Andy

The Bikstein Shock and Spring kit for the ARX is, F4-SE5-A164-M0. Cheers Andy

I am still trying to finalise the price at the moment. The exchange rate is not helping but I should but be able to firm up the price in the next week or so. Cheers Andy

I will post up the part number for the Bilsein kit tonight. The Jap Bilstein distribuor did a special order for these and they are not distributed any where but Japan. There are 2 models available. One for the 250RS/RX models and one for the ARX model. The ARX one may be gettting harder to get now as I was told in May that the distributor had sold out of the kits so it was a question of finding a store with it in stock. (lucky me). The other option is to speak to Ben at Northshore Prestiege and see if he can bring a set in for you. He brought some in not long ago but I believe they are all sold. Sorry but my contact in Japan is not so good any more as he was a distributor of my product in Japan but I have since left that company and not spoken to him for a while. Cheers Andy

Translation for all but the GPS sode of the system is still due next month. Cheers Andy

I got a friend of mine in Japan to buy it for me. Made life much easier. Have a look at Yahoo auctions or Monster imports. Cheers Andy

Unfortunatley I don't think this will help. What we need are the digital maps that can then be coded correctley to work off DVD in the right orientation in Aust. Cheers Andy
-
Sorry but No. It will work on the V35 to 10/2004. There are a lot of other models that this conversion will work on also. Cheers Andy
-
Yes, but even if we can source the right maps and get them coded for the cd or DVD (larger capacity), they will only be static, as in created at one point and not updated to latest maps over the years. Does this still really make them worth while? Once we can see what we get from the english menu's we will have a better idea of the potential market and can see what can be done. Cheers Andy

If you get a Rs or OX they are lower and seem to have better standard shocks for handeling. the ARX is certainly set up with 40mm extra clearance and definatley is a comfort cruiser with lots of speed. 0ver taking on the open road is a breeze but watch your speed...... with Bilstein shocks and new Swaybars from Sydney Kid (Selby) the car is transformed and now is sooooo nice to drive and cruise. the investment is minimal, say $480 for swaybars and $1300 for springs and shocks and you then have aluxury cruiser with LSD rear (other models do not have this as standard).

I have noticed the same thing on a recent rainy trip with my M35. 110km/h and no need to use the wipers in really heavy rain. Love it. Cheers Andy

To the best of my knowldge we are able to conver up to the 2004 V35 but there are still some question marks on the version installed on some of the 2004 models. We will be able to confirm if the conversion will work on the 2004 models and later once we have finalised the set up. Yes, you need to have the DVD rom drive in the dash (or other location) to be able to install this update. The new Consult version will not help as it requires a lot more wotk than that to ge the conversion to english done. I am another M35 owner, you will see a pic of my car in my profile. Practical wagon with the lots of go and great handeling. Cheers Andy

Hi Guys I have noted your interest and will let you know when we are able to start seling. Cheers Andy

Once we are ready to go there will not be any limits of the number of conversions we can do and the disc will not be reusable. This will not delay things though as the each conversion disc will be individually created as it will relate to a security code that is created during Disc 1 of a 2 disc install. This is necessary to protect the security of the software that has been created to do this conversion. I am sure once people see who good this looks I am sure that many people will be happy go ahead. I would rather wait wait till it is all 100% perfect before we ask for any money. I am taking note of the people who have expressed interest at an early stage and if they are happy to go ahead when they see the final product, I will ensure they are given the opportiunity to be one of the first with the conversion. Cheers Andy
-
Good news! The conversion is complete and they are in the process of testing the software to ensure it is without errors. We are still working towards a Septemer release so not far away. Once I have screen shots I will post them up. We anticipate that you will be able to install the software at home with some simple instructions but this will be confirmed over the next few weeks. The estimated cost is $200 for the conversion. I will let you all know when there is an exact time line. Cheers Andy
