  1. They have a black tag sewn into the outside seam near the shoulder.
  2. Gave the car an oil and filter change.. Whilst there also installed with the help of Craig (or should I say I helped him) a replacement actuator with spring tension.. This is a great mod... Had to turn the boost down as was holding 20psi to red line. The improvement is very noticeable with the motor being less peaky and drives much more linear from a stop to the top end of the rev range.
  3. Not a Stagea I hope Dale? Good to see all those attending this morning and great of TSI to support the event. Pity I could not make the cruise to Wiseman's and lunch..
  4. Iain and I are going to try to meet near or at his house at 9iiisshhh..
  5. Second hand genuine imitation Nismo part added to car.. Plus a car wash for the meet.
  6. Good question, Iain, what time are you driving out? Do you want to meet somewhere?
  7. You can offset the extra fuel cost of this car by doing your own servicing as the car very easy to service. No 100k timing chain to be replaced. Having just had my Subaru in for a 150k service and being stung for $750, I will do my own service on the Stagea that will cost $150 using the best possible oil and a couple of hours.
  8. lol.... I don't think they know where it is...
  9. That sounds about right Dale..... cough (bullshit)
  10. Can you ask them for Craig and my ECU back that we gave them 18 months ago to see if they can tune our cars.
  11. Yes,, 100% worth the effort.
  12. 100K service is nothing major on the VQ25DET motor as it has a timing chain that does not need replacing. Depending what has been done since you owned it the things you could look at are. Oil & Filter change Radiator fluid Gearbox fluid (but not essential) Diff fluids (but not essential) Check brake pads & fluid Grease hinges The shudder in reverse is common as you have to remember you have a 4WD system and they don't like being put on full lock in reverse. This can be made worse by having the "Syncro" button depressed. Maybe the gearbox fluid change would be good to do. Cheers Andy
  13. Spotted zei20l this morning turning off Lane Cove Road near North Ryde Golf course..
  14. Or moonlighting as an undertaker managing his hearses.. lol
  15. lol..... you do need to raise that passenger seat a tad.. felt l I was sitting on the floor.. also never had trouble seeing over the dash before.. lol Yes, it does feel good.
  16. Greddy Profec B spec 2.... A very good little unit.. Once you get your head around how to set the Gain & Boost and how they work you can get a really good set up.
  17. Fitted the new suction pipe toady with the help (should read totally lost without) Craig (aka Jetwreck, is there any thin on cars this man can not do). This was certainly at the limit of my ability and patience to work on cars. Thanks to Scott for hit great fabrication, only a slight mod of cutting a grove into the bottom bracket of the suction pipe so it could be placed over the shaft of the bolt. For anyone looking to do this mod make sure you work with someone who is a contortionist as there is no bloody room to work in. Net result is a good fit with a little bit of tidying up to be done on pipe work but the car feels even better down low in the rev range. Not had a chance to really test the top end as I am conscious that I need to finalise things under the bonnet and aware that I am currently running 17psi and want to be careful of hitting fuel cut. thanks all. Cheers Andy
  18. lol... I can see the future (imagine 10 years from now) Scene: Father giving oldest son their first car. Father: Son, here is your first car. It was one of my favorite cars when I was younger. Son , excited jumps in to drivers seat but excitement is quickly gone and replaced with confusion . Son looks to father. Father: What is wrong son? Son: What is this round thing in front of me?, What does it do? Father: Oh, son that is your steering wheel. Son: What does it do? Father: You turn it to make your car go in the direction you want it to go but don't turn it too quickly or the motor will be f**ked. Son: Are you sure dad? Don't I steer the car with the stick in the center of the car with the + and - next to it? Oh the humanity...
  19. Can you clean your Flux capacitor with Carby cleaner or is it a straight swap...
  20. Do you mean totally stock? As in nothing changed at all? Dale's car is still stock turbo but with exhaust and handling mods and he found a big improvement. I can not advise against my car as it is far from stock but I am very happy with the result. Cheers Andy
  21. So what was the cause?
  22. Did it in the most convenient location where the 2 lines run side by side to and from the trans cooler. As we learn more about this car we realised that the standard set up has the output from the gear box going to the drivers side on the standard radiator. The Passenger side is the return lie to the transmission.
  23. Put my thermostat in also.... Thanks for the help with getting those hoses on.. For reference we noticed that the I had in fact plumbed my trans cooler after the fluid went through the radiator trans cooler.
  24. yes, they are both inter changable. I saw one for sale on the V series forum
