Nice choice. All that performance in a wagon. It is the sort of car family guys like me love. Will fit the family and the Mountain bike or skis. I felt bad being the first to select a Mitsubishi on a Nissan forum but it is an exteptional car. Would be the only Mitsubishi I would ever consider owning. Cheers Andy

350gt Little Extras?
andy65b replied to antigravity83's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
They are already running the conversion in Russia and I have had my screens partially converted with a demo version with no problem. I don't believe that it is actually changing the funcionality of any of the software, just replacing the japanese words with english within the program. I can confirm this if you like but I as I said this has been done for some time in Russia with no problems so would not anticipate any here. Cheers Andy -
On the M35 the electric book lock pulls the boot lid in frim against rubber blocks on either side of the boot opening that form an integral part of the chasis rigidity. I thought this was new on the M35 so not really sure what it does on a C34. I would think something similar. Cheers Andy

The Ipod intergration is quite easy with the inbuilt TV. Not sure how to do it if you don't have the TV. Cost with the TV to get the ipod working varies from $14 for a dIY job from raw materials to about $90 as DIY with the connector form Chris Rogers and extension lead for the RCA plug. I went one step further and got from the US a lead that plugs into the bottom of the ipod and goes to RCA plugs. Has the benifits of built in output level and charges the ipod. (that is an extra $80 for one with video output). Chris offers some even better set up but price will be higher. Auto lights are great, turn on parkers or full lighs as light fades. Turn off with ignition. The problem of the Jap language on the screen will be over come in the next few months with a conversion due to be available around June for everything but the GPS menu's. Cost is not confirmed but estimated around $200. -
The guys from Xanavi in Russia are working on a conversion for the computer from Jap to English for all the screens except the GPS functions. They have said this would be ready around June. It is as simple as putting in a disc in your DVD rom drive, press a few buttons on screen and then the computer is upgraded to English. Price is not confirmed and timing still to be locked in but pushing for it as soon as possible. Cheers Andy

I feel for you Muz. I hope you get a good outcome what ever that may be. Cheers Andy

I noticed they only listed the G35 from 2006 on. Lets hope it still works. We will have to meet up some time. I will be working in Cromer from May. Cheers Andy

Cruise Control is eaisly fixed although not that cheap. About $800 for an aftermarket model that sits at about 4 o'clock on the wheel and if you didn't know how Nissan fit cruise control you would think it factory fitted. Very neat.

Duncan, Have a look at this thread. It shows the rear sub frame of my car. It is reall a preatty special piece of work. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/M3...html&hl=m35 Cheers Andy

Murray Sorry to hear that about your car. That aluminium sub frame looks so nice. Acording to my FAST software it says that is part number 55400 but no idea how to get a cost. Good luck. Cheers Andy

They haven't mentioned this to me? They could probably solve the GPS language problem but we still would not have any maps. I guess this is why Nissan do not have the Xanavi system in the Aust cars. (Xanavi is part owned by Nissan). I solved the dvd problem by using my ipod to play movies. Not quite the same quality but not bad. There is a really easy soltuion to do this.

The conversion is being worked on at the moment but they are setting up a distributor system for it so they will be paid a fair price for the conversions. The metod of conversion is by installing a disc in the DVD rom and updating the software so the potential for them to do a lot of work and get no return is very real. I would say by June/July we will have a system set up and a fair price. As soon as I have some more definive dates and costs I will post it up. Cheers Andy

Hi Jules I do not know the size of the rotor but they are the same as the V35. The part numbers are the same. The brake pads are also the same as the V35/G35. (confirmed this with Ben). I am looking at getting some Hawk brake pads from the US for front and rear. Just waiting to confirm the cost of rear pads. Cheers Andy
-
Hi Murray I am in the process of getting a quote on Hawk brake pads from the US. The pads are the same an Infinity G35 and in the US there are lots of aftermarket options. I am told the Hawk HPS pads are very good. I know the fronts are about $70US + freight. Once I get the price on the rears I will post it up. Minimum order they will do is $200US. Cheers Andy

Pretty sure but then again I was able to get the screen working for a while after I played around with some menu settings. No idea what i did. Some how I changed it back again. The only obvious sign was that when looking at the GPS it would not track the car on the screen whilst it allowed the TV to work. -

I pulled apart my dash today and found that I have the R-spec over ride but the switch has been cut off. Can anyone suggest what would be a suitable button ans how would it get wired? There are 4 wires in the lead to the switch (or where it once was) and they are coloured, Red, Black, White & Yellow. Cheers Andy -

I am getting around 7.5km/litre around town and if I can get some highway driving in (M2 or M5) I am getting this up to 7.8 - 8.0. It is driving a bit like an old lady and not being in a hurry but even when pushing a bit harder I can still get 7.5. The difference seems to be if you can keep moving. The stop start traffic kills the economy. Cheers Andy
