if you have the powerfc, do you have the hand controller... check things like the TPS voltage when it happens, air mass voltage ect and let us know these values.. also does the knock go right up? or engine light come on? i have to ask how long have you had the car? it is time to learn the powerfc i have a 34 GTT with an FC if you need some pointers... also read the documentation around the place.

I simply dont like someone that says something is wrong when they can not or do not prove it... there is ways to test the head gasket and all good mechanics know how and should have the right tools... It is very expensive to just start replacing things on what someone thinks might be wrong and they will never cover any cost if they were wrong...
-
there is just one thing you can check if your that worried.... make sure you bleed the air out of the system, in your description you did not say you did this... other then that stop worrying about it... do not take an import to a run of the mill shop they have no clue they are just tafe mechanics that just replace parts, they dont actually know anything.

I Was Given A Warning. And I Was Also Threatened
NISMOGTT replied to KEN-R34's topic in Western Australia
You can 100% voice record the conversation as long as you are part of the conversation... as in it cannot be a hidden recorder to record third parties... so as long as they are talking directly to you and you to them then you are 100% with in legal grounds to record... this does not mean you can record the 2 officers talking however unless they are directing the conversation at you... also do make sure that you ask for their name and badge number on the recording as you will not be able to use it as eveidence on the grounds you recorded it later... i am not 100% sure on this but i also think you can use a video recorder and 95% of the time they pull you over they also video record you... trust me i have found this out on a few occasions and even once it got the officer in trouble due to the threatening way i was treated... i am always polite to them but ask a lot of questions to make sure they are doing their job correctly and with-in bounds of the law... such as i have no issue popping the bonnet if you could kindly tell me what you are actually looking for? they have to know what they are looking for or how can they defect you... i have never once been defected and that is with massive carbon on my back bumper and also FMIC loud zorst and lowered to legal.. guys know your rights and use your mobile to record... stand up for yourself and make them do their jobs correctly... i know this is extreeme but look how they back away from Bikies, is it cause if they make one mistake the bikie gets let off... we have to be the same and give them that sort of pressure and not just take it. end rant -
i 100% agree with you but there is nothing you can do about it... you will not change the way people are and have been for years and years... so simply go around and do the same to them.. it does feel good try it.

This is simple to stop and looks really funny when a younger guys does it... espesially in a "performance" car. simply get in front of them and slow down to 30-40 under the limit so do 70 in a 100 zone... watch them get pissed off and move over then simply speed up to the speed limit and away you go... yes i know they may not learn anything but it makes me chuckle and feel good The police wont do nothing about it, so i just get pay back for holding everyone up in the right lane.
-
I dont see how leaving your car running and walking away is illegal... might be silly to do but not illegal... the police do it everytime they pull you over so what is the distance you can be from the car?? i know that is padantic but please dont say things are illegal unless you are 100% sure on the law. i dont know if it is or not just saying my 2cents.

NISMOGTT replied to reNEGaDe88's topic in Western Australia
i see where your comming from but i have spoken to many snr officers about this and they have all said it is 100% legal which means it will hold up in court as long as you are part of the conversation. -

I have been through this process many times, some recorded some not, and you have every right to ask them why they would like to pop the bonnet and what they are looking for, i do this everytime and not once have i got a sticker cause i know my car is 100% legal. if you have done nothing wrong they CANNOT search the car, they do need reasonable susspision and you have every right to ask for it and also record their anwer, i find most times this prevents them from searching at all. It is a case of if you stood there and let them do it, tuff s**t, if you know you have done nothing then man up and make them do their job correctly, and make sure you record them. you do not need permission to record them either, yes that is 100% correct as long as you are part of the recording you need no permission, they record you 95% of the time, and do they ever tell you?? -
Merry Christmas - Xmas Gift Free Trust Oil Filter
NISMOGTT replied to monga's topic in Western Australia
I dont really need this either so Merry Xmas to whom ever gets it -
i agree 100% re-badging is terrible but if your buying a car based on the badge and you do not have a clue then it is your fault for being mis-lead... i know sounds harsh but scammers are harsh...

There is one other thing to take into account here guys.... what was the road surface like? if rough with stiff springs then he would not get great traction and not use the power... was the road slightly wet? near oil at all? tyres any good? there is too much to say who and why someone would win... i have beaten supercharged big blocks to peoples surprose purely down to traction issues with too much power for the road we were on... -
Maroon And Black Skylines In/near Swanview
NISMOGTT replied to Kandikid's topic in Western Australia
no they need their fingers cut off... try taking something when you only have stumps on your wrist... -
Guys there is ways to prevent this already... it is called Aussie Post... you simply organise for them to hold the money and the "seller" can not get it until you have signed for the goods... my girl has done this before as a "just in case" measure and not had an issue... try this in future....
-
glad you think so i think it looks falcondoor-ish and cheap.. but each to their own i guess
-
one thing about getting your window replaced is they will generally use their own manufaturer so you will sometimes get the blue tint across the top of the window, if you dont want this then double check with them that it will not have it as it may need to be ordered from nissan direct.. i had them do a window for me in the front yard while i was at work come home and had a fight with them to fix it as i asked for a factory direct replacement and they said it was... i guess our ideas of factory direct were different

yeah CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) is what the battery can give as a burst, there will be another amp reading on there also that should say the "real" current it can do.
-
also make sure the terminals are not loose on the battery as they will wiggle slightly cause odd readings... i would also suggest battery though.
-
i will say yes they are compared to other cars, this straight from a sargents mouth when i was writting a report against the way i was treated by the police when stopped... "we dont just look at skyline we look at any car that is lowered or has an exhaust including those xr8 things"... so yes they are targeted but so are other cars. All i can say is drive nicely and know your shit when you are pulled over so they can not give you shit.
-
Try Just Car they should be able to help you out if you are the only driver of both cars.
-
you are correct with your first comment if there is no camber and the car is on flat ground... but i also said do not take the tyres off the ground just the weight off them, also the strut will be under slight tension or compression that is the reason for the adjustment bolt on the bar... we dont know how tight or loose his adjustment is unless you have seen the car. i was trying to give some easy tips rather then just bash it off or get bigger muscles. i would hate to see some of the repairs (botch jobs) done on some of these guys cars.
-
good to see you can throw crap at me but nothing to prove me wrong and AMI engineer thankyou.
-
Yes i do i have build many cars from mini's through to my own skyline and am actually an engineer so i actually look for the correct solution rather then the bash it out solution, i prefer not to damage things. it is simple physics really i would draw you all a picture but should not have to explain myself. if you notice as you raise and lower a car your wheels will move in and out slightly this is the pressure i am refering to on the strut. do any of you back yard mechnics do things the correct way or just bach things out?
-
the alignment would be cause the top of the strut might move slightly and put it out at the weight of the car shift it... as for taking the weight of it is due to the effect of like a spring washer... sorry i dont just use a bigger bar to strip my nuts
