  1. Im very well aware, however without even asking a few simple questions a conclusion was drawn and presented in a manner unrequired. Imagine going to a Doctor and having him leap to conclusions without asking a few questions that should be obvious. If you're going to ignore the fact that someone has already made statements about certain aspects, then edit them out and repost it as if they were your conclusions disregarding an obvious cause of traction loss, being power then later contradict yourself then you should expect to get pulled up on it. Nothing was withdrawn, merely ignored and edited to suit own aims. I dont know everything, but Im certainly not ignorant. I take offence to people trying to inflate their ego's at my expense when they are going off half cocked. Especially when they do a back flip a week or two later. Anyway, I doubt I'll get a reasonable reasponse, merely more political mumbo jumbo talk.
  2. Sorry, I assumed being involved in motorsport that you would be able to understand without the need for specifics. When I said I had trouble getting the power down cleanly, that means traction. Just the same as you are quoting above. You didnt think perhaps my traction issues were also the result of having over 500rwhp? (514 according to a dyno run in 5th) Instead, after Id already stated I was working on suspension and you'd edited to remove it in your reply, you declared it was the suspension setup and went on to say if it cant put the power down with 11in slicks (280, though I had 265s but who wants to quibble over 15mm a side) then the car was poorly setup. Now your saying a 2WD Skyline with similar power will have traction issues and Im assuming now you're disregarding setup? I really can't keep up with your changes of direction...
  3. Oh but Gary, didnt you say if its wheel spinning then its the suspension setup? Or does it change according to if you say it or if someone else does? Remember?
  4. Maybe i should quote you out of context too huh? Then I could sound all condescending as well.
  5. Man, this is getting hard to reply to so I'll be lazy this time lol So an unrestricted group A car with a professional driver beat a V8. Ok, but that really doesnt translate to our world all that well I think the original intention of Spannerx's post was related to amateurs however I concede your example is valid even if unreachable by you or I To be honest I had sufficient power so Id have gone with the data logging I was working my way into the suspension when my account said enough (right after #6 piston cried the same thing) I wasn't complaining about doing it myself. I prefer it that way, even though it's slow to get it done as Im easily distracted. Accountability is simpler then too lol. If a wheel falls off there's only one person to blame. Definately money is the biggest enemy. There are SO many cool things out there available for a car. Time is not a huge problem if you have the money available. Giants car was on slicks I think, as was mine and a V8's but I wanted to go wider then a 265. I had hell trouble getting the power down cleanly. Softer, wider tyres would have given a good time improvement alone but I only had mediums available and only 10in rims so I was temporarily stymied. Next time it'll be different. Shouldn't you be on a bike forum Michael? Or maybe chasing girls? I hear the skirts have more of your attention these days then cars Cue X Files music... the truth is out there...
  6. Ah, ok. Thought you were talking actual occurances not theoretical. Theoretically you could bring a RWD Super GT 4cyl Supra over here too and kick the V8's butt. The original question by spannerx seems to have been lost along the way with fantasy and hill climbs and stuff making its way in here. I thought so, but I dont think too many people on this forums fall into those categories often I didnt say my times were great, nor that I have any qualifications. I also dont have any data logging instruments and I know that with all of the above plus a support team I could go faster for sure. I turn up to the track, on my own. I turn my own tools and mostly build my own car. Im in it for the fun, and happen to do ok considering. If I had the budget of some GTR owners I think they'd be looking pretty slow by now Fact is, I turn up with a smile, and I smile all the way through the race, and so long as nothing gets broken i leave with a smile. I'd love to be able to do nothing more then race every weekend, but sadly the budget says otherwise. Anyway, my comparitive times above was to give an indication of a pretty quick RWD car Vs a GTR Vs a V8SC on the same track.
  7. Now you've made that claim Gary you're going to have to back it up please Saying there aren't many GTR's means there must be some. Can you tell me which ones are? Also Im assuming you're saying the 1100kg GTST is being driven by a V8SC driver too. As an example, my car was 1245kg sans driver, with 265 medium compound slicks and with a days driving on them I managed to get a best of 1min16.3sec around QR National circuit Vs the front runner V8's who do 1min10.xxsec. I believe with a little more practice in my car with no other changes, on the fresh slicks I might have improved it a little more. Hardly close to the "same lap times" though and I doubt the weight difference would help me shed 5-6sec a lap... (Though it would only take about 3 to get onto the back of the pack I think) Im not sure, but last I looked Giant hadn't run under a minute 16.3 yet Needless to say, on other tighter tracks the differences would be less between an amatuer GTR and a professional V8SC
  8. Thats because toyotas are an exciting car to drive... which reminds me, doesnt your missus drive a toyota? lol Some of the letters must be higher then the others. I listened to video again and could only hear "B*IDGE*TO*E" when it was rubbing
  9. Nicely done sir Im jealous of your getting track time. Couple of "whoops" moments there too What was rubbing? or was that the sphincter opening and closing rapidly?
  10. There are no women here mate so no need to apologise just because mother nature played a cruel trick on you
  11. I want to know why there is a SuperLap TimeAttack prior to Superlap Timeattack 1... Does Steve-o suffer from premature postulation?
  12. First things first, I must have misread the regs for floorpan sports sedans because I was under the impression the floorpan could be messed with somewhat? Also my car isnt really a sports sedan. Its just a Toyota However I was looking to keep it relatively in line with SS regs in case I get And a family oriented race car has four doors so you can fit the kids in whilst lapping lol
  13. Thats hilarious. Ive always wanted to have a $1000 challenge at the Qld Raceway Sprints or something. Either that or a People Mover Challenge like TopGear initiated...
  14. Time to stir the pot me thinks In the open class it states- What is defined as a modification of the original body? - cut out oem front doors? - frp/carbon panels? - lexan windows? - flares? - tubbed guards? - firewall/trans tunnel mods? - rear doors removed and replaced with frp silhouettes - engine placement alterations? I ask only because these are plausible allowances within the above statement plus of course they are alterations Im undertaking for my current car and it will all be done to the original chassis/body with no spaceframe utilisation.
  15. Disappointing... Where would you be mate if no-one helped you out? I really don't understand this sort of thing in club level sport. Anyone would think you've invented something special that nobody else has ever thought of...
