Attesa Reservoir Air Pocket
Gareth replied to Gareth's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the picture, does your air gap change at all? Mine must have a leak somewhere that is allowing air to get into the system when 4wd is engaged....how annoying...i reckon the problem isn't with the reservoir itself, somewhere else in the system. -
Attesa Reservoir Air Pocket
Gareth replied to Gareth's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
In every photo i have seen of attesa reservoirs there has always been an air pocket there.......it says in the manual that the air pocket should be 5mm max so i'm not worried that there is one. What does your resevoir look like? -
Attesa Reservoir Air Pocket
Gareth replied to Gareth's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for your suggestion, i did wonder if it was reservoir related mine is certainly pretty filthy....i might pull it out and have a good look at it, maybe give it a clean up, i just want to know what normal is with these things so i know what to aim for. -
Attesa Reservoir Air Pocket
Gareth replied to Gareth's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Giving this a bump...still hoping someone can tell me whether or not it's normal for air gap to increase over time....since i got the gap down have done around 1600km in the car, most of this was done in one trip and gap increased a little but not my an amount that seemed stupid. I then did about 20km on an unsealed road where the 4wd was getting quite a workout and then had it on a dyno where the 4wd also got a good workout, i then noticed air gap was HUGE similar to that in the very first picture. I installed a switch in the kick panel to save me having to unplug/plug connector over and over, it seems that doing this alone did little to reduce air gap size so in the end i bled system, did the switch on/off thing (lots of times) and when it seemed as if it was no longer reducing air gap size i started at the start, bleeding-switching-bleeding-switching. Pretty retarded i know but in the end air gap was back to around 7mm. In conclusion - The air gap increases much faster when 4wd system is getting lots of use - My air gap seems to increase at an abnormal rate, somehow air is getting into system? - 4wd system is working fine as was confirmed on the dyno, fluid isn't leaking out anywhere just air getting in. If anyone can tell me any of these things it would be much appreciated: - How big is the air gap in your reservoir? - Does it increase with time/km? and if so how fast - If anyone's does increase fast like mine what is the most effective way at reducing the gap back to 5(ish)mm? As my way doesn't seem like the best way at all. - Has anyone had the reservoir out and apart and understands how exactly it works with regards to the air gap and how the fluid flows around in there, i can't figure out what's going on regarding lower fluid level - air gap - upper fluid level (which seems to be split into a central chamber and an outer chamber???) -
cars are much more reliable than i was expecting, racing seems to be pretty much the same.

Parts Cleanout! Rb26

With the 3 skylines i have owned i have always been able to achieve around 10l/100km on the open road, and thats with abit of chopping down and overtaking thrown in. Given that you; dont want to rev past 3000rpm, dont like exhaust or 'wooshing' noises and want something that is going to be economical I don't think a skyline is the vehicle for you. Buy a mazda 3 and enjoy accelerating past skylines at the lights with minimal noise and only using 6l/100km.

Vibration At 70Km/h And Higher
Gareth replied to konect's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have a similar sounding problem....mine is at 130km/h + doesn't sound as bad as your vibration though. seems as though mine originates from rear of gearbox/front of tailshaft. interested to know if you managed to fix yours. -
32 Gtr Wheel Bearing Issue
Gareth replied to Blunt's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I recently had both my rear bearings replaced, wasn't so much a noise problem but one of my wheels had abit of vertical play, decided to get both done. I went with the OEM Nissan ones, after hearing that going for the cheaper option could end up being a headache, i ended up getting new hubs also (apparently that was a good move as the one that had play in it was damaged and needed replacement) ended up being quite expensive though around $250 each for the bearings and another $230 each for the hubs! -
Perth is particularly bad, especially when it rains. I grew up in the north of nz where it can rain for weeks on end, so I found it hard to understand everyone's difficulty but that's just Perth for you I guess. Also there is fark all decent roads to challenge people and bugger all hills which also don't help matters

did anyone take advantage of the 20 million glitch in version 1.01, i was about to update and thought i would gave a look to see what the update actually did as i just wanted to have a race then and there, lucky i did as now i'm 20000000 richer...one thing i cant stand is having to grind races to get cars and GT6 was looking like some epic grinding was going to happen given how stingy they are with the prize cars.........anyway thought i would mention it incase anyone hasn't updated yet.
-
what is grating on my nerves more and more is the way the races are set up as though the other cars have already had their own private qualifying so are all lined up on the grid from fastest to slowest usually one car that is miles faster than everything else, so in order to overtake all the other cars and beat mr vettel out in front you need a car that is also miles better than all the other guys. it was ridiculous in some of the GT5 seasonal events and it seems as though they have just continued on..............i say bring back qualifying and then reverse grid, and put more thought into the cars on the grid and make them much more even...it would work wonders for the game.

Apparently there was (at least in GT5 anyway) i don't recall ever seeing it, i must have had about every one bar an 89 This ^^^

I'm really enjoying the game so far, it's exactly what i expected keeping with tradition of all the even numbered GT's. At first i didn't think the physics were much different but then i got to something rwd and launched it, and it felt really good as both rears lit up. It seems like they have dumbed it down somewhat though, i'm number national b and havn't had much trouble getting gold on everything, sometimes first go on a track that i have never driven before.....in older GT's i would really have to work for some of those golds. Overall i would say it was totally worth the 14.4 Gb download .........loving the super fast startup too. Oh also the first GT that i can buy the exact same model of car that i own....89 GTR...loving that.
