Gents, Sat 13th December is the day. $100 buys you 8 hours of drift fun at the Eastern Creek skidpan and figure 8 wet track. We need 40 people to make this fly and the numbers look fine from the interest post. What will you need? a roadworthy car, long sleeves and pants non-flammable. No Helmet (to be confirmed!) What will you get? 1min flat out drift on the two circuits every 20-min. An instructor will be on hand to give advice and help out with control. Starts 9am and finishes at 5pm. Food and drinks will be available at the creek. For those of you who are only interested in the 1/2 day please PM me and don’t use this post. I will work something out with Dave once I have the numbers. No deposit is needed as wet weather only makes the day more fun, but please, only post up if you are 100% confirmed, if we don’t get the numbers then Dave will not run this even again and we will loose out in the long run. Any questions let me know. Thanks

All right everyone looks like we are good to go. We have a couple of options with respect to sessions and tracks. We have 40 people interested. We can do the Skidpan only for 20 people in a morning & afternoon session at $50 each We can do both the skidpan and the figure 8 wet track for about $100 all day 40 people at once. Both Options give you a spin every 20 min so there will be plenty of drive time. The date Sat 23rd November. I think for variety and fun we should all spend the $100 and do the full day. This is really cheap, for example yesterday 28 people had the skidpan at EC only for the afternoon, mid week $145 each, so this is fantastic value for the weekend and a whole day and both tracks. I will post up a new event with only the $100 option for the whole day. Those that want a half-day send me a PM and I will talk to Dave and see what I can do. But really even if you rock up late it will still be good value for the day. As a Fall back if numbers get thin we can only do the skid pan and back to plan A morning and arvo sessions. Thanks all and please use the new thread.

All, Thanks to the rain gods I had one of the best track days in a long time. 200KM & almost 2 tanks of fuel between 2 & 5pm, what a blast. The highlight of my day was understanding why Zane did not go out onto the track. As we are leaving EC, Zane powers out onto the old road slap slap left to right trying to get the power down and then whoosh 360. What a laugh. Next best moment was assuming the crash position as the GTR hammers down on Duncan who lost it bigtime to using the saab as a road block. Akira I saw your eyes were a little larger than normal, how was the view from the passanger seat? To all those who had SBS or cold wet feet or had paid for the skidpan your loss. 200Km of sideways action is the best, As fats said "Its the biggest skidpan in the world" -

All, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news, looks like I wont make the afternoon. The good news, I will be sailing on a 72ft America cup sail boat around the harbour all ofternoon. Everyone enjoy the day and I do my best to enjoy mine. -
Ok That's 30, still need a couple more to make it fly. Dave said that we could have the figure 8 track as well for an additional $30 a car. If we had both pans open we could rotate from one to the other and get twice the amount of skid time. What does everyone think of the additional cost to double your time and introduce some variety into the day.
-
20 people so far. 20 More to go. Fatz, You can pay $100 and do both the AM & the PM. We can have 20 people $50 9am -1pm & then 20 people $50 1pm - 5pm. You get the same amount of time, just less wait between goes.
-
Like most team trackday events, no membership needed. Unless the numbers get too big, the events are expended to friends who have nothing to do with this forum as well. Numbers so Far 11 people, 29 still needed. Or an increase in price?

AM and PM group looks to be the go. Notice taken

Fatz & Duncan, There is a new post under NSW Events. 40 people at $50, you do the math on what he needs to make it fly. It sits there doing nothing during thes bike days so why not. Really does sound like a weekend thing to get the numbers though. 23rd Nov is a Sunday and that looks good. -
To all the people who don’t get time to attend the weekday track days, check out the drift tread under the events page. $50 for a day on the skid pan. Please post response under the events thread. Thanks
-
All, Speaking with Dave from Moto concepts he offered up the EC skidpan on any moto concept bike day, because it’s sitting there not getting used. Dave's suggestion was to aim for a weekend in November. Dave must supply an instructor for the day and the cost is still a little high, but because of the weekend factor there is a stronger chance of getting higher numbers. Cost ? 40 people at $50 each. There should be ample time for everyone to get plenty of spins. If you all could let me know indicative number of interested people we can see if this will fly. This represents good value in my eyes, so if we can get close to the numbers I will pick a date and post up. Thanks

All, I have contacted Dave from Moto, The day is on and no Deposit is needed. There is a strong chance we can all be on the track early, its a long story but the short answer is a car rally needs that track as their starting point for in the morning. I have booked 6 spots, try to be there about 11am if possible. I have taken leave for the day to ensure im 100% turning up. So far Oz, Duncan, Roy, GSR13S, Zoe G, CS-180 I have Doctor and Fatz as a maybe. There will be both Bikes and Cars on, in different sessions, A & B bikes and a single car group. Other than us there is only 6 cars going. Should be a top day. I need someone to help me run relay back to my friends house before we start, I want to use both my bike and car on the day. Please confirm you are still attending. Any questions before or on the day, please call me on 0402847826. -

OZ GTR35 replied to Duncan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Duncan, Sh!t man it could be any of those things. I personally over the last 4-5 years of owning a Skyline have seen the following cause problems with miss fire on my car. My spark plugs, they were 10,000km old and drifted past 1.3mm. 1hr and $20 to fix. My Air Flow meter, loose wire in AFM, 1hr to fix, $300 for a second hand one. Dirty Inj, bad fuel in country NSW, 1hr work and a bottle of wine to my local workshop to use the ultrasonic cleaner and flow checker. Coil pack not earthed properly, after changing my spark plugs I did not seat one of my DIY packs correctly. 1hr to fix and a kick in the ass for being stupid. Reset ECU, the fuzzy logic can some times be a bad thing. 3-4 hours if you are at fatz house, hmmm beer. Other problems I have seen from other members, fuel pressure / regulator, faulty spark packs, fuel pump. Never fixed em so can’t comment. Personally start with the plugs as most the other issues produced more than a slight miss fire, it was more go / no go. -
Fatz, I agree anything more than 4-5 full boost to redline runs, cant be to good for the car. All, Im not sure if we all know exactly what happens in a PFC tune but it is not exactly rocket science. The big job (time mainly) is in cruize tuning. That can take a while and you are not necessarily pushing the car while you are doing this on the dyno! For peak power. 1. Keep you Fuel rations around 11.5 to 12 (Very safe). The Standard INJ maps on the PFC do this very well anyway. (I know Mario says 12.6 was the best Fuel / Air ration but I use street fuels and cant afford a Bang! haa haa I just said bang! get it get it) 2. Stop the boost when duty cycle hits 90-95% (Again very safe, to stop leaning out on those cold dense nights that the skylines love) 3. Play with the 400 segment ING maps to produce as much peak power without getting >25 Knock (Very Safe) For cruise setting. (I don’t really care because the company pays for my fuel but it does help with mid range torque and power.) 1. Just play with your ING & INJ maps to produce smooth, not to rich, power. You normally run you car at the 60 – 120 KM areas while the tuner plays. This is where I need Marks help, as I am not 100% sure on how and what to do. I guess I just needed to clarify my requirements and let you know what I need from my tuner. I believe I will be able to live with the performance I get after 1 hr of tuning and only say 3-5 hard hits. Thanks for all the good input and the PM’s
