  1. Deal !, but remember I may never get it finished.
  2. Its the guy I used on my original GTS-T. His business name in Mobile Turbo Service, Dennis is the guy, 0415100345 (Tell him the white skyline guys told you to call). He is mobile but lives down Cabramatta way. You drop the car off on Friday and pick it up on Monday. Zane and I have both had it done and have had no issues. You do need to supply your own blow off valve if you dont want to use the standard one. Both times we just had the steel piping painted, he may do stainless polished but you will have to ask.
  3. Yes, it gets its first test next week at Oran park when a few of us go and get our cams licences. I still have a few things to do, before Im finished. Boost up kit. Replace my 6lt cat with a 9lt one. Replace the small resonator with a larger highflow muffler(Hopeing to get down below 90db) Put the largest oil cooler in I can. Gear box cooler. And a good tune!
  4. PVC, You are right, a Normaly Asperated car would get absolutly nothing out of FMIC because they do no have a turbo to heat up the induction process. My question is who said anything about a NA GTS?
  5. The car is back to 100%, I took the car back to the shop on Tuesday. They fixed a damaged oil return pipe off one of the turbos and the oil leak is gone. The cam sprocket noise has almost gone and I am hopefully going to put my boost up kit into the GTR this weekend. It’s only been 1 week back on the road and I am already starting to look for the extra KW's. It’s funny, after driving a Festiva around for 12 weeks it’s hard to understand why people in the street stop and turn their heads. I’m going "What the Fork are you looking at" until I realise I’m not in the festiva any more. Its weird because I have been driving a skyline now for well over 3 years and I guess I have to adjust to the attention that they bring.
  6. I measured one up about 3 months ago out of interest. I think they are about the same size as the R33 ones except the thing is 80mm think and is a lot better flow wise than the 33 types.
  7. Zane put one onto his stock GTS series 2. He is very happy with the bar & plate 600x300x 60mm one. On his stock car his dyno went from 145 kw cold & 123kw hot to a consistant 165kw hot and cold. If I was to own a GTS again it would be my first mod. FYI I think it was about $600 to get installed.
  8. Bonks, You can add Zane and Evil_weevil to the list. This makes 11.
  9. All, I got my baby back on Sat. Every thing is nice and I am 95% happy. I have an oil leak from number 1 turbo, which makes the car almost un-drivable due to the amount of oil that hits the manifold. And a new noise which I would rather not have, its a wining noise from what sounds like the new variable cam sprockets on the cam belt. The car is back to stock boost about 9-10 Lb and it feels really strong. You can really feel the roof in power around 4-5K RPM. Another 8-9 Lb of boost should fix that. I could not get this second hand boost up kit working so I will probably buy a new one, then the serious tuning will start. For those who care the total cost for the re-build was $14500. See the breakdown below. $4050 New Engine, short with not turbo’s or manifolds. $1425 Repair exhaust wheel on #1, Rebuild & High flow 47.5mm wheels. $520 Variable HKS Cams $850 HKS Dumps $500 550cc Injectors $475 Sump Baffles & Head restrictor $635 Metal Head, inlet and outlet gasket $1500 Case hardened flywheel, 3000lb 4 puk brass button clutch $500 sundries, gasket kit, toe truck, oils etc $4000 70 hrs of labour. I think this is an adventure that most of us would rather not do, so the only thing I can suggest is have your car racetrack ready before doing too many drive days. On my next GTR, below are the following things I would do before putting it on the racetrack and driving it hard. 1. Install a huge oil cooler. 2. Head restrictor and Metal head gaskets while the head was off. 3. Sump Baffles. I hope this thread will help others.
  10. Dave Stone called me today and asked me to confirm how many people I have ready to attend the next drive day on the Thursday 8th Aug. As a recap: All day $130 if we can get 15 or more. Morning or Arvo $90. Non flammable head to toe, full-face helmet. Passengers and spectators free. Unregistered cars get looked at every closely but no eng docs required, I think? This is not a race event but safety is upmost. I need to know if you are in and if you want a FULL DAY, MORNING or AFTERNOON. Im a really busy at work and I cannot afford the Tue & Wed for the Cams Licence at Oran and then another day at the creek on Thursday. So I will be looking for someone to run the day. Bonks, can you put your hand up? The names so far, from the expression of interest post. Bonks Dflash Dazsta Evil Xrsist + friend + friend Akira Silver Arrow + Many Friends? Majanal Zane Kabab Peak RPM Prank Roy Fatz Julian GTS RD20Sil Beavis Please all let me know. P.S. I have my GTR back and she feels strong, just need to fix the oil leak on turbo #1.
  11. All Please close down this thread and use my new one. Thanks P.S. Thanks Red for getting this started. Go here New Thread for the latest info. (edited by red900ss, link inserted)
  12. ndr, The fluid was the same as what was used to clean my injectors. Apparently they look like new and fire fine. The proof will be in the pudding when it gets started today. ByBy, The festi still sux, I cant wait to have that adrenalins rush you get from a high powered GTR. Its been hard, today makes exactly 11 weeks with out my baby. I should have the car back either Friday or Sat, depending on any issues. Jay, I think spark plugs are too much of a commodity to warrant doing too much like fixing the fouling. Once a plug gets old you best put them in the bin. I only cleaned mine because they looked new and the sonic bath was right there.
  13. Well to my supprise I found 6 near new HKS Plugs in the new donk I got for my GTR. Does anyone have them and are they any good. They are currently spending the night in a sonic bath and will be going in tomorrow.
  14. There is a cheap Formula 1 on the corner of the Cumberland Highway and the Great Western Highway (about 25KM north of Oran). No sure but i think its $50-$60 per night.
  15. I have one for my GTR, Car Bras in Melb made it for me for $320. They have both 93-96 and 97-on GTR R33 ones. They dont like making them and sending them because they have a perception that all skylines are modified body wise? Anyway I think an R33 GTS with a GTR bar should work. If you are in Melb drop in, they are about 20km north just off the Hume.
  16. The hand controlers are different, you need the new hand controler, found that out the hard way. I will know in about 2 weeks if the Boost its are any good.
  17. You best call Peter's number and ask that question.
  18. Hype, We are running a drive/ cams licence day at Oran Park Next month. http://forums.skylinesaustralia.com/showth...s=&threadid=585 Its a 2 day course. The first day is a basic drive course like XEQTOR said he did. The second is high speed cornering/braking, track course to help get you round the race track quicker. You get your CAM's licence at the end of the 2 day's which means you can drive at any raceway in OZ. If we get a couple more people the price drops to $570 for the two days. It migh be a bit much $ but a single basic day is $200 -$300. the two day course is Good value if you ever think you might come to the creek or Oran park one day!
  19. I have seen a different story when I last saw an R32 get dynoed, check my post at the bottom. http://forums.skylinesaustralia.com/showth...s=&threadid=859
  20. Big diff rwkw and 4wkw, and Im sure I could get a lot more out of the engine, but im not sure the donk would last with the hard track work around the creek. Maybe I should spend the money that Mario has and end up with 800Kw?
  21. Update. All parts are in and the donk has the baffles, metal gaskit, head, turbo's, inj back on, and is ready to be bolted back in today. Fingers crossed I can go for a drive on Sat. I hope the car is ready to be driven because I ready to go drivin.
  22. I saw an R32 get dyno'ed on the Tafe Dyno in Melb. It had some basic mods and got 172Kw through the 4 wheels, he pulled the fuse and run again and got 205 kW. That’s a 20 % increase in power. I use that as an example because I saw it with my own two eyes. R32 rear wheels only, I can agree with a 15-25% loss. R32 & R33 4 wheels, I say with confidence 35-45% loss. I watched a 100km old 225Kw SS commodore get dyno'ed the other day. 179kw @ the rears. 225kw with a 20% loss is 180kw so I say that would be a good yardstick as well.
  23. Qik33, Wow, thats almost 50KW more @4w's than any stock 16Lb GTR I have seen. I think you have something special there.
  24. I own a CBR900 FireBlade and my wife has her P's and she has a CBR 250 FairyBlade. My wife has just been through her L's & P's course, do yourself a favour and don’t by a sports 250cc first. Their long wheelbases make it difficult to do the test in and you are most liable to drop the bike in the first 3 months. So buy something that is a "Licence getter", that you can afford to lie down. If you do a standing drop on a fairing bike and expect to get it back to original $1000- $2000 in cost. Bikes are great and much more exciting than my GTR, but we only use our bikes to drive to the track and ride on the track. Heaps more fun on the track and heaps more speed, and no cars! It is dangerous on the roads, you are 5 x more liable to have a serious accident than a car, but be defensive, use freeways, be visible and ride in groups, with the main advise don’t go fast. Contrary to what everyone thinks, cars brake and corner better then bikes, its a simple fact of ground rubber. In perfect conditions a bike will out do a car, but as we all know our roads are not perfect.
