I have not pulled the engine out yet but because its my only car It looks like I will buy a standard second hand donk from Jap, get the GTR back on the road, then I will take my time and make a good donk from what I have now. The engine is siezed so Id say its bad, only time will tell. I will keep you all updated.

Jimbo, Yes standard driving with light braking, using a set-up and squeeze gently method. This is what my race driver mechanic tells me to do. Once they are bedded in (First 50Km) then you can start to do some harder braking, just dont smash the pedal to the floor within the first 200 and go hard after 500km. This obviously applies to street metal pads that are hard to medium. Race brakes are a different story, get them to temp and go hard, then throw them away and the rotors as well, but unfortunately not everyone can afford that. General use soft pads only need about 50km because they bed in a lot quicker.
-
If your oil is over 5,000km change it before the day, but i think its more important to be changed after, you can talk to everyone and they will all tell you a different story, shit if you had the money do it every time after you have driven the car hard. But really its up to you. On the day you must be able to stop. Do your fluid with the best you can buy and make sure there is at least 1/2 the pads on your front, then check after and see how much you used, this way you will know if you have enough for next one. May sure you do at least 200 - 500km to bed in your new brakes or there is a chance you could glaze them and they will be rubish on and after the day

All, I have had too many bad reports etc from Luffy, apparently the course is not consistent enough. It depends on what instructors turn up on the day and to how professional and enjoyable the day can be. So I have decided to go with the Peter Finlay, you actually have to go and do an arvo with him anyway to actually get your license, so we will stick with him. Some info: Proposed date 6 & 7 August, 2-day course. 16 people Max, (first in Best dressed) Day 1 Advanced driver training 8.30 Cams Lecture 8.20 Basic skills 10.00 Practical on cct 10.45 Braking, test theory practice 12.30 Lunch 1.00pm Brake in corner 2.00 Evade and recover 3.00 Cornering, line etc 3.30 Practical cornering 4.30 Close Day 2 High speed track work. 8.15 Scruitneering 8.30 Cct walk 9.30 Track time 10.30 High speed braking 12.00 Lunch 12.45 Cornering 3.00 Ckeck lap with instructor 3.30 Starts 3.45 Qualify under stop watch 4.00 Cams simulated Rade 5 laps 4.30 Close and qualification granted. At the end of the days you RX your C3 racing and R3/R5 Rally license. Cost $570 for both days, for 16 people, if we get less down to 12 people it will be $605. Peter said If I organize it and get 16 people there I can drive for free, so if we do get 16 people there, I will pass my free days onto every one and hence the $570 cost. What do we do from here? Well I would like to see the post for the first 15 people who are interested. Second I want to collect a $100 deposit to go to Peter Finlay to book the day. This will be non-refundable unless you can find someone from the forum to take your place. I made sure the date was far enough into the future so money could be arranged and also Peter and Oran Park availability came into play as well. If anyone has any objections or suggestions please let me know in a PM. If we can get 16 people who can commit it should be a dam fine 2 days. Thanks

Ryan, You are right, I take it easy, because I know I have to drive the car home, but there is an interesting point here. Last track day I did at wakefield I had Warren Luff in the car with me for 20 min. After the first 2 corners he comments, you ride a bike dont you. I replied "yes how the f**k! did you know!" He replied, you brake with set-up and squeeze", If any of you here have ridden a bike you will now you dont just slam on your brakes on a bike you get the bike settled by getting your weight forward with a soft setup and then you squeeze the brakes. (P.S. I will have my Honda Fireblade at EC, my wife and I will be taking our blades for a squirt before the car) Warren then spent the next 10 min getting me to slam the brakes on hard early and then pull off gently as I am about to turn, so the car is more balance (IE not all the weight on the front tyres) before you turn the wheel into a corner. I can envisage that with this new technique I will go through the pads a lot more, but the GTR brakes so quickly I would say I only use about 5-10 sec of braking at the creek in a 2 min lap. Anyway Ryan since you have bagged my braking I will give you an offer to come for a drive with me at this next trackday. We will be there till 5pm so all you have to do is knock off early. If you want a reference ask PH he has spent plenty of time in the seat.

PeakRPM, Sorry but we are full, I already have about 3 people too many. If I can get 4 people to drop out due to mech issues I will let you know. Sorry, but keep your eye out for next time. It will only be a month or so.

You are gana freek when I tell you what I have, 50,000Km old which included 7 trackdays and they were second hand pads when I got the car, still have plenty of meat on them. They are drum roll!!!!!!!!! Nissan Standard GTR Blue Pads. If they do run out before I sell the car I will be getting another set, they are spot on.

Prank, You can expect to get 4-5 15min to 20 min sessions out on the track, thats plenty for your first time, you can expect about 7 to 10 laps @ about a 2 min laptime. You drive on the road with cars everywhere without a concern in the world, there are parked cars and gutters every where. On the track you have 15-20 cars on a 2km+ track, a football field to run off on nearly every corner, drive safe and in control any you and your car will come home safe and with no real were or tear. I have done about 7 track days, same tyres and same brakes, I drive my streetcar like a streetcar. Drive your streetcar like a racecar and that is where you run into trouble. You will be fine. Helmets? $100 investment, shit we drive $10,000's worth of cars and spend $1000's on mods, go to a bike shop and buy one this weekend. I normally bring about 3 spare helmets but they normally are used for passengers or if someone forgot one. XLBoy, I have a teacher mate who has driven his XL with us and he had a ball, yes you will be in the slower group and you might not overtake too many people but trust me you will enjoy yourself. I have a story, about 1yr ago my friend bought his XL out to a track day. He followed me out on the track. GTR v XL, I was doing just under 2 min laps and he was doing 2.15 to 2.20 min laps, I newer lapped him, he was only say 20 sec slower per lap and you need at least 15 min to catch him on a 2 min track. Remember you normally do a warm up and down lap so there goes your 20-min session. All see you there!

All, I just got off the phone from Dave from Moto, That is its, all full. It looks like there is going to be a sh!t load of people there on the day. We will only be getting one session to our selves. The slower 5 cars will join the slow group and the quickest 5 cars will go the fast group. I will make that call in conjunction with the drivers on the day. I would suggest all people doing sub 2 min be in the fast group, and all first timers go into the slow. I have been asked by Dave to draw the number to a max of 30 but Dave wont be upset if we bring as little as 20 because his numbers will be just right, if that was so. The final list 1. Oz GTR 2. jimbo, Bad luck, I’m sure we will see you next time. Exrsis, All you need is your license and a registered car. Your car will be checked for tyre wear and very basic roadworthiness. I.E. nothing hanging off the car and that noting is loose inside the car. I don’t have you down as coming, are you in or still thinking about it?

All, I have mentioned a couple of times that I would look into getting something organised about improving our driving and racing. I have identified 2 possible people who could do this for us. Peter Finlay or Ian Luff and both operate out at Oran Park. Peter has sent me out an information pack and I will post the info when I get it. Ian Luff has given me a list of events. Stage 1: Smartdrive, Basic driving skills with braking, steering, emergency stopping etc. Stage 2: Advance Car, This is done on the skid pan and involves all wet weather work. Stage 3: Performance driving, High speed work, cornering, race lines etc. Cost. Stage 1: $236 Mid week, $258 Saturday Stage 2: $247 Mid week, Stage 3: $302 Mid week. Packages: Stages 1 & 2 $462, Stages 1 & 3 $495 All courses are 1 Day, out at Oran Park. If you want to get your CAM's License you need to do stages 1 & 3. I want to know who is interested, and what you are interested in, we can book exclusive days, or take a whole day just for our selves, or get a group discount. They can tailor a course just for us maybe compress 2 days into 1. Personally I would like to do the stage 3 course only, but I want my CAM's so I may have to do stage 1 as well. Post up your interest and I will see what I can do with the price and or getting our selves a sole Skyline day.

GTS 32T As it stands you are down as coming, just let me know if you can't make it . With the numbers we are getting it looks like we will have 2 skyline groups, fast and slow. Finally what looks to be a great turnout, bring it on.
-
GTS 32t, We already have a discount rate of $100, the usual price is $135 per car or $125 for 3+ or my deal which is $100 for 15 or more. At the moment we have well over 20 people so as long as everyone turns up we will be driving at $100, but bring $125 incase 50% of the people pull out at the last minute.

Prank, trust me you will only have about 3 seconds where you will hit the speed limiter each lap. You will only gain about 1 sec in lap time once you have the limiter removed.
