Quieting Down A 3 1/2 Inch Straight Through Exhaust
06tst replied to gbturbos's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i had one of those Apexi butterfly things which could be adjusted in cabin by a cable wire thingy. It worked but restricted power so I had it disconnected. My brother opted for a second 3.5" straight through muffler mid way and that has helped bring noise and cabin drone down for idle and cruising but still barks on boost. I might do the same to mine as it pisses me off too and im not touching those shitty butterfly things again. -
word of advice... pay someone to do it

price drop on Tomei Reytek ---> $700 ono. I need this gone asap! It is a great ecu and fully tunable. If you are in Sydney and looking for a cheaper option programable ECU this is it. Unique Autosports deal with them in the western suburbs (seven hills) of sydney and can tune them. Also Melbourne people, DR DRIFT can tune them aswell. He is also in western suburbs at Brooklyn.

Item: Tomei Reytek programable ECU with map sensor Age: 1-2 yrs Condition: Perfect Price: $800 ono To Fit: (What car) R32 GTR Location: Brisbane Contact: PM or 0422382292 Comments: This is a fully programable ECU which uses a map sensor to eliminate afm's like the D-jetro PFC. Im basically selling it as I couldnt find anyone at the time to tune it in Brisbane. I know that Unique Autosports in NSW sell and tune them, and some DR Drift (cant remember name)in Vic and a place in perth but could be more that do now. You can buy the tuning software and iterface kit from tomei for them too. I pulled it out of my car which had it installed in the Tomei workshop in Japan along with other things. The car was running around 310awkw (mercury motorsports dyno)with T04R turbo (17psi), tomei 260 cams, upgraded pump and still with standard injectors. Car ran 11.5@126mph with that setup and was getting 500kms per tank of fuel. I have since upgraded many things and swapped for a PFC d-jetro cos no one tunes it in Brissie otherwise I would have kept it! Unique autosports sell them for $1900 exchange---> http://www.uniqueautosports.com/ (look in the tomei section) for more info ----> http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...dex-reytec.html OTHER THINGS FOR SALE: One set of R32 GTR injectors with fuel rail and nismo adjustable regulator. Was running 310awkw safely which led me to believe they might be highflowed but not sure?? Might need new buckets which can be bought from an injector place for a few dollars or less. Were running fine and pulled off for bigger items. $400 for the lot. Will not separate One GReddy 60mm black face mechanical boost guage. In perfect condition and working fine. Was in car when bought a replaced for a Defi guage. Just needs vacuum line to work. $100 Chrome catch can which I bought a while ago. Still new in box with all parts required. $30 RB26 cam gear front cover and stock cam gears in good condition $75 RB26 oil breather U pipe between cam covers in perfect condition $20 RB26 clutch pack fan. Was in good working order and not slipping. I have grinded a little off the edge off the blades as seen in pics to clear the radiator I put in. I went to thermos as the shroud couldnt be used. The grinding hasnt done anything to performance of fan. $30 If interested either reply, PM or call me on 0422382292. Will post interstate at buyers cost. Prices are neg. Cheers, Glenn

I reckon you could go close with a mega launch. I did 11.5's with 300awkw without the huge launch on shitty tyres

Help With Pivot Super Temp Controller Problem
06tst replied to 06tst's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I wish it was that easy but its not. I put a 52mm alloy radiator recently and from that the clutch fan had to have about 3mm ground from the end of the blades as it hit the radiator. Worst thing was the shroud could not be used at all so thats what made me go thermos... that and my aux fan has never worked! For now I have just wired the fans upto a switch but would like to get the controller working... just wanting to know if anyone else has wired these things direct to thermos before and how they did it. The only thing I can think of that its stuffed... but everything else is working?? Cant understand whats wrong. -
Hey just wanting to know how anyone else with one of these has wired it up. I have a set of EL thermos in and have wired up the STC differently to the instructions. It says to wire up the fan signal wire to the ecu but since I have aftermaket fans I have ran the wire directly to the fans via a relay setup. Now the temp signal into the controller is via the ecu where it utilises the stock temp sender as I have used the provided temp sensor which is used for the oil temp. The switches on the back have been set to the Nissan setting aswell. So I set the fans to kick on at 80 degrees to test and once it reaches that... nothing. I used my test light and found the is no power coming from the fan signal wire (white) straight from the controller... I just wonder if it is stuffed or im doing something wrong... it was new out of the box too. I have also tried wiring up from my temp sensor for my water temp gauge up to the controller but that was doing something weird with the gauge and didnt work. I also set the swtches on the back to the right setting for use with a temp sensor. Any ideas as whats going wrong?

I got 500kms before the fuel light the few times that i drive on a daily basis... but usually it sits in the garage most the time only a safe tune now at 310kw. Should see that go down a bit when I get a power tune soon.

wow... thats bad news. One of my favourite shows is American Hotrods. I love it that much I went to check his workshop/garage and his car collection in California last Sept. Has some great hotrods on display to the public. His work was truly amazing up close and its a shame his gone

Just Jap's Recaro Style Racing Seats... Any Good?!
06tst replied to HaZ3inSKY's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
i had a set of the justjap recaro copies and didnt like them. Cant compare to genuine ones as they dont provide as much support from the sides. But for the price you cant complain. If you want good seats for track get genuine ones but these are fine for the street. As for mounting... dont mount on a standard rail as they will sit too high. The universal rails they give you are pretty much useless without fabrication and welding. Getting a bride low mount rail and modifying that would be the best thing.
