tas RB26 6 Boost Manifold for big HP setup - $800
Scando replied to Scando's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sold -
Rb26 6 boost manifold. I believe it's for a tial GT42/Gt45 housing and a Tial 60mm gate. I'm happy to check the flange measurements for anyone that is interested. Ceramic coated and has EGT ports. Appears to be in excellent condition with no signs of cracking. I bought this for my RB26/30 but have decided to stick with a smaller frame turbo. $800 - happy to freight at buyers expense.

R34 Gt-t Gearbox Speed Sensor Output
Scando replied to Scando's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah, the square wave input is what it requires but it's going in a 240Z with a racepak dash so I don't have the skyline dash to convert the signal for me. I've found Wolf sell a signal converter for around $80 so that's more reasonable. -
R34 Gt-t Gearbox Speed Sensor Output
Scando replied to Scando's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks very much. Looks like the Haltech will only accept speed input as digital so I'll need to get some kind of analogue to digital converter. Hopefully I can find something cheaper than the one haltech sell for $300! -
Hi, I've done a lot of searching and haven't been able to find an answer. Can anyone tell me what type of signal the speed sensor on a R34 GT-t manual gearbox puts out? I'm using this gearbox for a conversion in a 240Z and need to know what type of signal it puts out so that I know which inputs to use on my Haltech. Thanks, Shane

Good help is always handy when it comes to conversions! Happy to take a pic of my gearbox mount for you if it's any help? Mine is quite simple but I believe it will be very strong as it uses the strength in the tunnel where the original mount was located.

I'm almost at the end of doing an RB26/30 conversion into my S30 with an R34 GTT gearbox. I bought the Castlemaine Rod Shop gearbox mount to suit and it was complete rubbish. It was designed for a car with completely different chassis rails. We modified it and made it fit but I still wasn't happy with it. It didn't allow room for the exhaust to go through so you would end up with the exhaust basically dragging on the ground, and it used the under floor chassis rails for strength which are quite thin and flimsy on an S30. I ended up chucking it in the bin and making my own with a completely different design. I e-mailed Castlemaine Rod Shop about the issues with photos showing why it didn't fit and I received no reply. I've only heard good things about their products from other people so maybe I was just unlucky but I definitely won't be dealing with them again. I didn't use the Castelmaine Rod Shop engine mounts because I've heard they sit the engine a fair way forward from the firewall. I wanted the engine to sit as low and as far back as possible so I got a mate to fabricate some for me.

If the pistons in the RB26 block are for a larger than standard bore and if your RB25 block is still ok then you could get the RB25 block bored and put the RB26 crank, rods and pistons into your RB25 block.

I'm after a busted R200 short nose diff. I only need it for the input flange. I think most skylines (except gtr) and silvias, etc are all the same.
-
I haven't had it going yet. It's going in a 240z so still lots of jobs to do for the conversion. Another popular option for daily drivers is hypereutectic pistons.

Rb26 pistons have a 30mm pin to deck height vs 32mm for the rb30 pistons. So you would need to deck the block 2mm which is likely to cause issues.

Getting A 9:1 Or As Close To Comp Ratio By Head Shave
Scando replied to menthol369's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
One option if you want to keep your current head, you can use standard RB25 pistons and deck the block 30 though to get them flush with the block (RB25 pistons have a 31.3mm pin to deck height vs 32mm for the RB30 pistons which is why you have to deck the block). This will give you around 9.5:1 with a RB25 non-neo or RB26 head. -
RB30 na pistons have a slight dome but they also have valve reliefs which gives them effectively a 0cc dome. RB25DET (non-neo) pistons have a 14cc dome with no valve reliefs. They have a 31.3mm pin to deck height vs 32mm for the RB30 which is why you need to deck the block 30 thou.
-
RB30 bottom end with RB25 pistons and the block decked 30 thou will give you around 9.5:1 with an RB26 or RB25 (non-neo) head and a standard gasket. That's what I've built as a trial engine.

I'm Scared. My Pistons Poke Out Me Hole....
Scando replied to Shoota_77's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
As a trial engine, I'm running RB25 pistons with the deck skimmed 30 thou to get them up flush with the deck. Also gives 9.5:1 compression and I have a similar amount of piston sticking up past the block as you do so I think you'll be fine. To get 9.5:1 on an RB30 bottom end with an RB25/26 head you're running about the same amount of piston dome as a standard RB25/26 so you shouldn't have any issues. -
