  1. $60-$100 for gasket, $120 for the JPNZ english Translation of the engine manual, 6hrs of your time & its done, I was quoted around $600-800 mark for someone else to do it & change studs as 7 of mine had snapped & 2 turbo bolts had disappeared into the ether somewhere (found only once everything was off). Its a really easy job to do mate so dont waste your hard earned & learn a little about your car in the process. I also found blown exhaust manifold gasket as well as the hole blown out the side of the turbo gasket which was giving me a wicked howl when on the gas- maybe your mate has heard a similar sound before & has done this job also
  2. Yes they do, but mainly due to the fact that people who drive imports can usually afford to pay fines, well that & the local car manufacturers being in the governments ear about increasing their stake of market share. Its hardly the coppers fault tho, they are just doing what they are told to do by their senior officers who have been directed by the polititions. We have a unique breed of that type of Dickh*ad politition up here on the Gold Coast, they are closing all the tracks & forcing people out onto the street. Not satisfied with just the cars either- they are closing down a kids motorcycle venue at Coombabah thats been there for 20+ years because someone has probably placed another thick wad of cash into someones back pocket. So, support your local pollie like we do Mayor Rudeboy "I will have another payrise even when I went to the poles petitioning against 1" Clarke & Anna "wants to be a cougar" Lies up here in QLD by signing our application to "Close All Local Race Tracks & Promote Illegal Street Racing" its a guaranteed winner people
  3. more castor helps the front wheels re-align when controlling a slide & is typically used as a correction for the bum hangin out, it does affect turn in if too much camber is dialed in or it did on mine Joshywah, I am now runnin 6deg as a trade off. Also when I had the car too low all it would do is slide, which was great at stadium drift but dangerous for everyday drives & straight out lethal in the wet. I am going to raise the front back up to 350mm & the rear to 340-5mm (recommended) to get abit of the suspension travel back & help the suspension do its job properly. As it sits now my front lower arms are angled up & the ball joints have quite a bit of load on them at 330mm ctr to guard which for me is way to low as I have already cracked the front bar going up my driveway & I cant be stuffed tracking down roll ctr adjusters for a daily streeter to correct for the low height & re-align suspension geometry, whereas if & when it becomes my trackie thats the first thing I will be on the hunt for. By setting the car up with too much rear squat-you will affect the vehicles ability to turn also as the grip is heavily rear orientated rather than being domininant front rake as the old school boys used to run which made the backside step out with little prompting. However- I ran the car at QR 2 weeks ago & as it is the car was quick & very predictable, so will keep you informed how it runs with the new height levels stated above. I will be doing another skidpan day to get used to the change in dynamics be4 putting it back on the track too. Hope this helps Fr Camber (L&R)2deg, toe-in L 2mm, R 2mm Rr Camber (L&R)1deg, toe-in L 1mm, R 1mm
  4. Depends on what state ur in, in Qld you can go to a maximum legal width of 8 3/4 wide on a R32Gtst so you can fit them up here. It may pay to ring the Transport dept & get the actual maximum amount from the horses mouth tho
  5. maybe interested in the 17x8, 17x9's mate, will check back with you soon to see if you still have em
  6. I'm not overly worried as a tool is a tool regardless of what they drive- & I agree 190? wot happened to the speed cut so it maybe the news paper sensationalising to make themselves look better- not that its eva happened b4- its normally 2day-2nite who are the clueless ones who never let the facts get in the way of a good story not murdochs own baahahahahaha
  7. Not really, ideally each exhaust port should have a sensor tapped into it for an accurate description of exactly how the motor is performing, what it does give is a generalised reading across the board to get the mixtures within an acceptable range & considering every tuner I've ever used has done this method & i have neva had a motor go bang due to incorrect fuelling levels when winding up the wick so-to-spk it seems to work ok. ps. Better if an actual tuner responds so you can get more accurate info-but this is what i have read when investigating fuel mapping & turbo charged applications & they all recommend sensors at each port for big hp numbers & huge dollar spends
  8. Cracked/broken exhaust studs or leaking exhaust gasket would be my bet- mine does the same & thats what I found after a bit of investigation
  9. Thanks mate, yeah they are an experience all right. Brown trouser time on the first few laps lol When you do put the trackies on let me know what time you get down to as I think you may go a bit quicker than a 57, considering you were in a new car & on roadies you were hauling a**. Plus, cant wait for the pm when you knock off those evo boys too
  10. I have had a howling/screaming when on high boost/revs for a while too, have just been fitting some extra goodies around exhaust section & noticed loose bolts on exhaust manifold, maybe worth a check on yours too
  11. Thats hauling, that gold evo went like a guided missile
  12. It looked like you were too-thats haulin the GTR looked amazingly stable all way thru cnrs 1 & 2 also & hammered down the back straight too I was in Group C, Grey R32Gtst (RB20) with Gold wheels, managed to get a 1:04.7617 on sprint track which I'm pretty stoked with considering it was my 1st time at QR & running road rubber.
  13. Yeah mate, welcome
  14. Spotted a fair few at QR today- nice work all, Skylines represent
  15. It was awesome to see you flying round the Track today Mark- nice work. My lil RB20 did surprise me, but not as much as yours did-what a car to watch & the sound at full noise is something spectacular, cant wait to see you put some track tyres on & what sort of times you pull then as I think that orange-ish evo maybe in trouble mate
  16. Well today was huge, no rain & great temperatures for a trackday. Big thanks to all who participated & represented SAU out there-you all did us proud & Paul the organiser was stoked at the full grid with a big mix of makers & models. We had a R35 out there mixin it up & goin quick & actually watchin one in action makes you realise just how good they are-fast & extremely stable. Once again thanks peoples Todd & Tim out
  17. No benefit other than a nice induction noise. your no where near the power to collapse the rubber stock pipe but who can tell these things truely. Any exhaust shop could make you one up if your after one so no need to spend big just to get the label if you decide to get one anyhow
  18. Tomorrow is the day peoples, make sure you have your helmet, long sleeves, long trousers & suitable footwear with you. Gates open 7am sharp, rain hail or shine we are running so be prepared
  19. They dont actually look like Rays wheels rather Ravs wheels-I may be wrong but they aren't true Rays Engineering Volk Te37 wheels
  20. Spotted you too mate, nice car you got there
  21. Looks too much like something Peugeot designed & would sell-not a fan at all of the look but the tech underneath all that ugliness is tops Glad its known as a R35 cause a Skyline it aint-my 2c
  22. what size is the polo?
  23. Welcome mate
