Thanks for posting the correct noise levels, respec

True words that- pod must also by dry-type. If too much induction noise can be attributed to the pod then it will be classed as a defect also. Exhaust is 92.2Db at 4000RPM@6m-this needs to be checked as not 100%- about 95% sure tho As to the legality of BOV- atmospheric venting which is unfiltered is illegal in Qld. Due to;Air from BOV or Air Bypass Valve contains a small percentage of highly pressurized recirculatory gases from breather & Turbo charger which are fed back into the intake & may contain unburnt engine gases, oils, vapours, etc and therefor Atmo's are in contradiction with Vehicle Emisions standards & the EPA Act. Great advice to ring Qld Transport tho-bravo on that 1- complete with ph# other great advice up there is be polite & helpful even if your pissed off- if you aren't then you will find out the definition of an 'Attitude Adjuster' in the Qld police vocabulary lol

R32 - Rb20 220 230kws Vs New V8's
toddlls replied to Italiazr1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hell yeah, Well put by the way, As far as an 8 goes they 'are' a great car & the Monaro is even better. 400+ is an awesome figure too, well done on that-hmmmm supercharger- (Homer like drool Aarrgghhll) Another valid point is the Highway gear-6th- The only thing i seriously want to put in mine, but not sure whether my RB will have the serious torque required to use it- may have to look at a 25/26 conversion -

I second the above comments, we will have to offer it to the members first but I think but all should be welcome. It may just help break down stigma's if we can include other manufacturers fan bases & promote the 'car lover-regardless' idea from memory the Gold Coast shire section is 92db, not sure what Redlandshire restrictions are but 95-96db comes to mind(guesstimation from old mans reticent memory-thats me ) -

Go take one for a drive then & don't be afraid to open it up everywhere-not just the motorway, report back what you reckon. I will admit on the highway it was pretty good, around town it suk'd bigtime, gearing seemed to not quite fit anything, either too short for open corners, or too long for tight city streets, and with regard to 6th for over 200k' I could see that on an autobahn, but our roads??????? I am not that phased whether you agree with what I say or not. but there is a big difference between reading a spec's sheet and real world experience. The greatest thing about this forum is you can express an opinion-others may flame you for it but who cares After working at the dealership, I went looking & it was for an import-bought R32- (this was against getting a special staff price on Hsv to sweeten the deal) , and to this day don't regret buying what I did. Hsv's are a pretty special beast when viewed by the prefered holden customer and for what they are I can be impressed, but the best I've been in have been worked to the rediculous, and can't be classed as stock so meh -

I don't mind an SS or HSV gettin me of the line, cause I am still goin past them when i'm on boost in second and I've only got 167rwkw in my R32. Used to sell HSV and yes they are 6spd, but will decelerate in 6th at 120kph unless your goin down a hill. 300+kw but too many gear changes spoil a great torque curve by my reckoning & most importantly it's a Holden so who cares anyhow Moral of story is so what if they get you off the line, any decent drag race goes a little longer than 50m my 2c -
Motul 8100 5W40 & change it 5000k religiously

I use a full face helmet, The rule is Helmets must comply with Australian Standards Helmets must show no sign of damage or scratches indicating an impact of any sort-if it does you will not be using that helmet

Circlip grooved height adj. 2 hrs to adj. height but as with any height adj. gear you will need to do an alignment when you change the set height. Had mine at 308mm frnt. going back to 350mm fr, 340mm rr seems to be the best when its there Nascar use Bilstein, Nissan sell an upgrade susp. pack for 350z range which is also Bilstein-they maynot be the absolute best but they dont cost $50K either so for the cost as to performance I am extremely happy with them- best Ive had so far, had KYB,KONI, & various others and the Bilsteins blow them all away- German Engineering FTMFW Also being in Middle East you are closer to the Bilstein Factory than we are so contact them directly, You may not have the pollution prob's of Japan so Valves and rubbers will last you a considerably longer time. HKS will be like Tein- where to service will be a prob for you Australia is just like everywhere else, when the stocks run out we have to wait for the parent company to dispatch more to here via quota- ie we wait till Bilstein can sell enough to justify the shipment my 2c -
I haven't had mine on the strip yet & so do I

If there is no loss of coolant or oil then condensation maybe a factor. I've blown headgaskets on cars and the result was a lot of white smoke, rough idle, water(coolant) useage and the oil turning to water sodden gunge. But to add to what comment the quoted user above has typed, there is no better advice than from a specialist in the field, however, said user shouldn't take it to heart if there is other advice which may not be as he/she has quoted. As there are plenty of experts(qualified mechanics)out there who have given me plenty of bum steers when it came to analysing an issue I had encountered i.e 3 mechanics didn't pick a headgasket issue and it was an exhaust fitter that noticed water in the tailpipe and told me to check the headgasket. So my 2c is listen to all advice then by process of elimination track the issue you have
