  8. Willowbank Raceway have advised that there will be an inspection on helmets that are to be used for this event. * Helmets must be in New condition & never been dropped or have been in a crash or have evidence of being in a crash or have resulting damage of said crash*. This rule is firm. It is for driver safety & will be adhered to by all participants
  9. Booking you into the Elite clinic as we speak, I'm sure Dan could put a set in, ROFL Sweet now I got a date for the drags woohoo You rock Joshy
  10. My understanding is you need a RB26 backing plate for em. Standard is plastic but just black so no change there only rice factor baby so go for it Oil based pods change emissions in some small way & thats why that cop incident happened, get a 3A dry type and you will be sweet. see DR DRIFT Plus the oil coates things like AF meter and thats not good as well as forming deposits in intake pipes and coating turbine blades.
  11. Yes true that, but we all love you too Joshy
  12. Joshywahbabykins set this up? OH really? I've got something for yah NismoBoy Beta welcome you to the Events Exec then huh me laddo
  13. Sweet. I think its important people know the ins & out of upgrades and this particular 1 is going to have to be done right first time- dont want to have to pull the box out again With regard to rotational speeds I would have thought the response to this would be obvious, 9 grand is 9 grand regardless, what i was getting at is why do lightened flywheels get such a bagging. Machined lightening of a flywheel is inheritantly dangerous due to metal fatigue/degredation of years of driving & subsequent abuse. Similarly reusing a 1990's pressure plate that has been resprung, sure new spring fingers but what about being non anti burst(as nissan pressure plates were back then) Providing Jim has all the relevant info required as to use and manner of operation he will build a suitable clutch for whom ever asks him too My daily has become a part time track car now too. My uses for my vehicle are becoming more & more motorsport orientated with regard to smooth transitional track driving although be it fast it has 2b smooth. Then we get doing everthing wrong for the drift days- clutch kicks etc, very hard on equipment stuff. & finally Drags. Main objective there is all about goin fast in a straight line with a hard-core off the line type of use & fast shift gear changes So then my point is to really think about what it is you want to do with your car first, if your goal is 200rwkw then go for a clutch that will handle twice that. Replace your flywheel with something suited to the final picture also By a new pressure plate with motorsport in mind. If stock standard gear was meant to be applied to what we on here use it for then Nissan would have designed these cars with 500 at the wheels and supplied it with its own race service team for upkeep & maintenance Instead it hasn't and this is why we see fly's & pressure plates try to say hello to the crowd thru the top of the bonnet or thru the side of the gearbox into the cabin. someting to think about at least
  14. I have a set without tops that I have just pulled outa mine
  15. To address the cost issues for those who want to know. Willowbank Raceway charges a particular rate to book the track for 2 hrs and then a fee rate/hr for any hour after that. We have put a ceiling on the number of vehicles as to give everyone a fair go when it comes to go-fast time. i.e fewer cars more runs/more cars less runs, I know which I prefer As to the remarks of why cheaper for members- see Nismo_Boy above We value our members and this event is a token of our appreciation those who have been with us on this awesome place/site to meet other Skyline owners. This is not to say that unpaid are not welcome cause you are As non members you are most welcome and there are incentives to paying for membership-so come on you'all sign on up & come have some fun. As to the mention of Bikes- If you are at all interested in bringing your bike thats ok with us. To all the noobs out there, Drags are not how you run against others, This day is about creating a personal best 1/4 time and seeing how much you can improve it. To all who are coming- have a great day & remember as SAU we have a reputation of being well behaved. So lets have fun & leave all baggage at the gate
  16. I have questions, with regard to flywheel- does a manufacturer rated car 180km/h have a flywheel that is designed to handle 100%+ increases in power & driving styles/activities that were never intended for the vehicle to be used for? If not then should aftermarket flywheels be purchased at the time of clutch replacement? Should the power requirement to be handled be vastly over estimated at the time of order? I have been bitten by the mods bug (more kw than 1st intended) and already the clutch I had planned for has had to be changed- luckily my clutch has just started slipping so now I got to replace it. More mods on the way too lol How light is too light for a flywheel- car daily drive, weekend warrior & drift days becoming regular occurrences. (Driver also does not mind wheels slipping )
  17. Send me a text if you still want the wheels I can throw them in the boot for yah, tho not sure whether you will need em the wet skids is pretty kind on tyres, or it has been on mine at least. I will bell you tomorrow regarding cruise up meeting point

    Welcome all, Gold Coastie here
  19. It can be done with hicas, gets a bit hairy when goin hard and particularly if its a bit wet. Lots of corrections and in my opinion not worth keeping if your seriously considering the drift. Mine is a R32 but I know I hated the stuff. I mean its a sports car of sorts and why the hell does it need a driving aid. Got rid of it and actually think it has improved the handling. More predictable and I think quicker due to the fact as now I know exactly when slip will happen rather than there she goes-oh sh*t there she goes again.
  20. Sweet as, hope you get it sorted, Another option for the gearbox plugs is to put a piece of pipe on the end of the breaker bar to extend the length and give more leverage. make sure you have stands under the car to stop it falling on you if the jack moves. Be really careful there. How I did mine was to drive the car up on 4 pavers- 1 under each wheel so the entire car was higher and remained perfectly flat. Undo the filler first Then the drain plug & drain box Apply Locktite or thread tape( I used thread tape) & replace the drain plug, tighten then refill with gearbox fluid. Hope this helps
  21. I saw that, but if you want a good clutch Jim will build it and will probably have a recommendation of installer in your neck of the woods, Order it from up here, get it put in down there- too easy. I have recently embarked on this exact same thing, clutch investigation myself. One name kept coming up again & again. Even a family friend who builds extreme high powered street bommadore's told me not to waste my time anywhere else when I was quizzing him on installing one for me cause I'm too lazy to do it. The first name he said was Jim Berry. My middle brother who is building a 700+hp evo3 is going to use Jim.- He found out about Jim years ago when he built an Evo2 & used one then, and when I mentioned a shudder in my 32 when taking off not long ago he said Jims name straight away So its up to you bud- was just trying to be helpful
  22. Go buy a white and another colour paint pen and mark the edges of the shaft with the pens so you know the exact location when re-assembly is required. I've seen the R32 boys pull a fuse and stop the 4WD that way, sorry dont know too much about the R33's. On my 4WD laser I was told never to do this-disconnect the shafts- by plenty of people as it can really mess things up. Have used the paint pens when removing just about everything from hoses, vacuum lines, doors, boots & tailshafts when replacing clutches and the like and its never failed there
