Yeah, totally wouldnt bother modding it if in a collector's condition. It'll sell for more in a few years than after you've put all the mods on it unless you kept all the parts or not selling it. The box won't last long with that turbo either. You'll easily spend +30k if done right and even then you could be in for a shock after.
-
What's your complete spec list for the engine? You are going to be in for a shock if that's all you are doing.

As an electrical engineer working in the control systems/instrumentation area, I can't stop laughing, you are absolutely hilarious. -
[Closed] Borg Warner Efr Series Turbos

What's everyone's take on the rpm limits of these turbos? -
That's the street/run in setup, more to come.

Don't have insta but maybe I should. There is a green GTR at galvsport, it ain't mine though.

This is actually my second GTR after bending the chassis on the first one back in 2011. It was literally in the last stages of being built to how I wanted at the time (only a brakes upgrade remaining because they'd sent me the wrong parts). It then sat in storage waiting to be re-shelled, kind of pissed me off every time I thought of it so nothing happened for a couple of years. Then I bought a shell in 2013 but as I was doing long stints of FIFO at the time, not much happened so I sold the shell in 2015 and was going to part out the first car. Not long after that, my dad had to have a emergency quadruple bypass recently which put things into perspective. I didn't like how I'd never finished building a GTR so I went and bought another GTR that needs some work and here we are. The first car will serve as a donor car to the current project although the spec has changed quite a bit since then. Hopefully everything goes well with this build and I can enjoy it until I am physically no longer able to do so.

Not sure if picture is working and not sure how to edit the op in this new design... Hopefully this one works.

The dude is in America so that's normal, unless he lost power after attempting to make it run better. -

It's an American thing, some of them won't run e85 because of "bad mileage". When are you hoping to pick your car up and do a tune? -

Make new mates, if you were in Perth I am sure we'd have plenty to talk about. -
Yeah, which is why I was referencing 70lb/min vs 35lb/min.
-
Have a look at the 70lb/min vs the 35lb/min.At the 20lb/min to10lb/m vs 10lb/min to 5lb/min mark, there's definitely more "area" on the z. Running 1 bar on either of turbos is a waste of time really.
-
70% vs 65% efficiency at the top end makes some difference. It actually looks like it's better down low as well. Look at the 1.5 pressure ratio and 20lb/min for the z vs 10lb/min for the twins.
-
Pretty sure that's what I was saying.
-
Yeah, I wasn't disagreeing with you guys.No idea what started the shit storm.
-
Fairly certain they didn't used to be and can still be ordered without the ball bearing, no idea how old of a Z we are talking about though.
-
I wasn't having a go nor do I like RS's.Was just saying that you would like the gtw more than the old z, dyno or no dyno considering you like the z and that generally has not so nice dyno curve.
-
I would assume twin scroll, billet compressor wheel and ball bearings would make some difference compared to the dirty T04z you tested? The old T04z dynos never looked any good really. People actually use to look at that and stay with the twins.
-
The GTW should be even better then.
-
Dry sump might be next on that list.

Perhaps we are different.I see it as I have paid for a product and I'll judge the product as such. Not how well they handled the rectification as I already deserve that much by buying from them and giving them the opportunity to make money from me on the sale of the vehicle. Don't get me wrong, it is more likely that I won't be as pissed off about the whole ordeal based on their response but I certainly would not be so gracious if they expect me to be happy about it and definitely not over something so major. They have made me gone from love to hating the model and the brand (let's face it, I am not buying a Hyundai excel and expects it to be crap), being a highly emotional purchase, I would not accept anything but a full refund.
