Found out I had a 2 way diff in my 1998 r33 spec 2 gts-t and the judder was really starting to annoy me as I only use the car for every day. So I got a normal diff off a guy who was breaking a 1997 R33 spec 2 gts-t, went to install it and realised its different.
The diff I bought is about an inch shorter than diff in my car. The diff in my car seems to have a sensor where the diff meets the drive shaft, this is where my diff is an inch longer than the other diff I got to put in. Photo's below shows where my diff is longer and that sensor near the drive shaft.
What is this sensor? How come these diff's are completely different, when they are bought off a spec 2. Is one from a spec 1? Or is it off a R33 GTR? Or is it off a automatic or something?
Anybody shed some light on this??
The part number on the casing of the diff in my car is: "443 KN52 - 81" cant see the other number on the other side of diff as its in the car facing up.
The part number on the casing of the replacment diff is: "351 KN3 - 6429" on one side of diff, then on the other side is "3831143M02"
Thanks
Alan
