  1. Series 1 coils would not plug into a series 2 loom and vice versa.....so once they plug into each other u have matching coils and loom. The difference is the ignitor is built into the coil pack on the series 2 whereas there is an external ignitor for the series one.....the ecu is the SAME Hence the reason series 1 and 2 use the same pfc with no options to set between engines
  2. No hablo espanol
  3. Dont forget guys.......RPM against power/boost on the sheets pls
  4. Those figures you posted seems kinda high Hks rate theirs at 450 for the 52trim and 480 for the 56trim. Using these numbers, wouldn't the 52trim be pumping near its max to make 300rwkw on a std rb25
  5. Would like to hear your opinion on my previous statement Disco Thanks
  6. You hit he nail on the head! It does ping on a hot day pulling off in first with the ac on and if i dont give it enough throttle, and comp did come up a little high, with 175 being the highest so all this lead me to believe it was shaved......also using 95oct on the stock ecu. I guess compression hasn't raised by that much though because Nissan says it suppose to be 170 from factory, so surely 175 shouldn't make much difference. I got the engine from the importers so god alone knows what the japs did, but i am thinking about putting in some forged pistons, freshen it up a bit and use a metal hg and i know the head has to be perfectly flat to use this so a wanted to know if it can be shaved again if the need be. I dont have much knowledge in this area and i am not in Aus, and from my experience the builders here are not 100% trust worthy either and i cannot take their word for it, so when u say pull off the head and measure it....what exactly am i measuring??? Basically i just want to know if the head is within tolerance so i need to know if it has been shaved already,if so how much has it been shaved, and can it be safely shaved again Also, only aftermarket gaskets are metal right??? so i must know if its a stock or aftermarket head gasket in there right now? Thanks
  7. Or creep due to the fact that the wastegate is just too small!
  8. I think u left out a word there.... I wouldn't say that is entirely true however.... kinda which made me start this topic in the first place This was posted in a thread recently http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...t=270&fcat= 100% Garrett....ext gated, and still having creep issues Not sure what size the turbine a/r is tho.....
  9. Are these metal gaskets reusable?
  10. So are u saying if using a std rb25 head the 56 trim might be the better way to go for 300rwkw to get the extra flow without winding the boost too high???
  11. Just wanted to know as a reference really...... So many ppl are getting probs with boost control i just wanted to know what was the average size of the internal gate and if using an ext 38mm will still be too small and cause creep As mention before we know ext gates are more efficient because of its larger diaphragm, ability to change springs, valve type etc. but i think factors like exhaust manifold pressure, type of manifold and turbine a/r also has a significant part to play when it comes to boost control So i don't believe the concept that if Fred gets good results using a 38mm ext gate that means Larry will have good results too using a 38mm ext gate even though they are using the same specd turbo on the same engine but on different manifolds, have different dia exhaust, same type but different sized a/r turbine etc. etc... And for sake of this discussion lets use........and u guessed it........ the Gt3076
  12. Hi ppls Just wanted to know the size of the hole that comes on garretts internal gate turbines and do all turbines carry the same sized hole...ie. .63/.82/1.06 Also when ppl bore it out what is the max size that can be achieved? Nb.....hole size, not flap size
  13. I agree^^^ With the stock turbo at 11psi i was having trouble getting rid of r&r using the safc2 It did help alot but there is only so far u can go before u get knock from advancing the ign too much. For 240 i would definitely get a proper ecu
  14. Finally getting to see some results of the true Gt3076 with the .63 turbine using an ext gate. I know u haven't driven yours much with the 4.3 diff installed but from what u say about your mates car that shit might be scary to drive on the street with boost coming on so hard. For drift this set up sounds ideal, but for a daily do u think the .63 might be a little too aggressive combined with the 4.3 ratio? Also, has your mate had any probs with boost control with the 38mm gate on the stock manifold?..... ie. with the gate being so small?
  15. There are a couple of threads around This one might help http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Q4...html&hl=q45
  16. Wouldn't that leak indicate excessive blowby? Do u have a catch can set up?
  17. So what's the word Lith? Any results with the big can yet?
  18. Does it start with the stock ecu???
  19. I have the AEM uego wide band that uses a bosch sensor and the manual states to place it 36" away from the turbo and i have had no probs running it daily for about 2yrs now
  20. A multimeter might be a better bet
  21. Yeh.... did u take off the dump pipe and make sure the exh wheel was still there?
  22. Come on guys.....i know there are engine builders around here somewhere
  23. Wouldn't the washers already be treated?
