  2. ILUSZN- blown motor! MicksR30- To get it regoed, you would need to carry out a few modifications to meet adr's...side intrusion bars, mirrors, seatbelts etc...also an engineers certificate that states that these mods have been carried out

  5. hey thats true tomj, the the fj20 definately feels alot more torquier down low! although i'm having trouble finding an fj20 for a decent price...justjap have a halfcut for 2500...i've tried alot of the usual place but no one has any in stock. also i'm a bit concerned of the condition of a used fj. i've had a few quotes for a rebuild, but i think my head's gone too..
  6. Hey guys, been a while since i've posted, thought i'd get some opinion's on an engine transplant, since the recent death of my fj...i'm thinking of either going another fj20 or an rb20det. Is the rb a fairly straightforward fit? What would be the major costs involved of a conversion?

  9. DR30RS- Arias pistons?...forged yeah?...must sound crazy with the external wastegate...what ecu do u use? looking into a rebuild myself, what'd cost u if u don't mind me asking?
  10. rsx84- as far as i know, the brakes are standard...it has lowered springs all round with what looks like standard front shocks, this makes the front end mega stiff...also has cusco adjustable strut tops....the rear shocks are bilsteins, which makes the rear end a little more aussie road friendly hehe DR30RS- nice figure!...ur fj been rebuilt?....what turbo are u using if u don't mind me asking?
  11. rsx84- apart from the fmic and turbo back 3 inch exhaust, it has a Trust oil cooler, boost relief valve, hks pod filter, greddy profec ebc and the guys at the workshop think it might have a have a high flowed turbo. Also the dash is cluttered with 5 aftermarket guages, shift light and a speed meter. btw, u had your car dynoed?..any mods to the rb?

  14. hey guys thanks for the feedback! Boof: not sure about the injectors, but i can't run it over about 1.0 bar boost, so the injectors are probly at their limit. Also i was told the afm on the fj's are extremely restrictive so engine management with map sensor, definately the way to go! rsx84, are your rims SSR's? mine say ssr on the valve caps. btw the linked workd fine for me. Any of u import 2door guys have any trouble getting ur cars to meet adr's and rwc's etc? btw, the rear quarter windows in my car can be wound down!?.thought that was cool hehe

  16. hey stu! not sure what type diff i'm using...guessing its an r200....its bloody loud tho! the car came with a spare diff in the boot (diff oil went everywhere), but i'm going to get both checked out. i had a VL turbo fuel pump fitted a couple of weeks ago, the fuel tank and injecors cleaned (standard), the car ran like a dog when i picked it up. runs fantastic now tho! on 0.9 bar it pulls twice as hard as my r32 gtst did. also had it dynoed, power's restricted due to the ecu (running very lean) so after the fj rebuild might look at a microtech or similar.
  17. hey guys, thought i'd add to this beast of a thread, recently imported a midnight purple DR30 RS stripped interior, bride seats, roll cage, fmic, turbo bak exhaust, mines ecu and a heap of other cool gear. the old fj's a bit tired tho, so a rebuild is on the way! oh and a new diff hehe i'll post up some photos soon!

  22. Hey guys! got a prob with my R32 T, from about 2900 - 3100rpm when driving, the power sort of dies for sec......then picks up. really annoying for normal driving........any ideas? thx
