  1. Sorry to bring up an old post but I found it with google. Check out this guys youtube clips on megasquirt. Also has some other kick vids http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=turbo280z My friend has MS'd his porsche 924 and I am about todo my rb20det powered 260z. Nothing like learning!!!
  2. Lifters are the higher pitch ticking which goes away once the oil pressure goes up. Well mine do. Sent a dozen e-mails to some wreckers on quotes. rb20's seem to be cheap! Pistons etc seem overly expensive for what an entire motor is worth. any OEM suppliers out there?
  3. Wack it in and thrash it! I love it! Any tips on where to look for rb20 bottom ends? Apart from here, ebay and other forums. I see some rb25's complete for like $1500 - maybe I should search on exchangability of parts and just step upto one of them.
  4. Hey Guys, Great forum and I am sad to say that my first post is a question of which I rekon I already know the answer but am after some direction from any RB20det owners. Below is a video of my beast idling and you can hear a dead set knock of death. The car is a datsun 260z and I am looking at getting about 300-320rwhp reliably. Mods so far IC microtech ecu t3/t4 turbo soon. supra injectors fuel reg larger fuel pump (if needed) Question: Should I just pull the sump off and replace the busted bearing (if thats all it is) or would the RB20det need new pistons, rings and a clean up to acheive 300-320rwhp reliably? I have no idea on how many K's the engine has done. Conversion was done in 2005 and hardly any miles put in it since then. Thanks for your time. shit, the video link -
