So how do I adjust the damper settings??? Is that the bolt at the top of the coilover/strut? I've actually got a set of teins which I'm assuming are super streets but got these hks items at a reasonable price at the auctions and have found them to be very hard in comparison so I'm most likely going to sell them if I can't adjust them.

Hi guys, got a set of hks coilovers for a reasonable price through the jap auctions and put them on the front of the car over the weekend, didn't have time to do the back. The ride is harder than a 16 year old on viagra!!! Is there any way to make the ride of these softer???

Intercooler still available mate??? Will this fit R34 GTR? What sort of condition is it in, front the pics it looks decent, how old, how many ks etc??? -
Sorry to be a pain but I've read all 13 pages and really didn't find the answer to my specific situation as the majority of posts were regarding RB25's. I understand the basics such as smaller gap size allows me to run more boost without the spark blowing out and the reasoning behind temperatures but still don't know what temp range I should be going for. I believe there were no issues with the NGK Iritop7's until the intercooler pipe came off so I the 345awkw was achieved with the NGK Iritop7's which I believe to be gapped at 0.6mm but don't quote me on that. I'm running approx 18psi so what heat range and gap would be suitable in a copper plug???

Ok sounds like the coppers are the way to go. I've read the numerous spark plug threads and have only further confused myself, could anyone (R31Nismoid) suggest what type of plug, brand/model/part # or whatever necessary and where to buy them from???

Hi guys, I had my R34 GTR tuned on Friday by Anthony Rodriguez and at the end of the tune one of the intercooler pipes has come off fouling the spark plugs as the power fc was convinced the car was running 15psi at idle lol. Anthony has suggested I get plugs with a gap of 0.6mm as currently under hi boost levels the spark blows out. The cars done about 100,000 clicks and still has the standard coil packs, could this be a factor? Obviously don't want to get a set of ngk iridiums and find out this is not the issue. Prior to this the car ran 345awkw with ah pair of 2860 -5s which I was quite impressed with especially in the tropical Darwin heat, will post when dyno sheet arrives. Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to dial the cam gears in as he ran out of time so they're still set at 0. Is it worth adjusting it myself without it being on the dyno or should I wait til I can get it on a dyno again which might not be for another 6 months as its almost impossible to get use of the ONLY 4wd dyno up here. Was very happy with Anthony, very approachable and happy to answer any questions I had as well as gaining an extra 50awkw without changing a single part, while reducing timing by 8 degrees. EDIT: I've just confirmed the existing plugs are 15,000km old and are NGK IRITOP7, Iridiums obviously...

R34 Gtr Suspension Upgrade

I've replaced the Teins with the HKS suspension on the R34 and its so hard its just absolutely ridiculous!!! The teins were quite firm but the HKS's are way too hard, I'm quite disappointed. Everytime I hit a small bump its like I've gone straight up a gutter, makes a huge noise and really jolts the car. Is this bad for the car, it just seems like there's a lot of stress with each of these impacts, I just don't want to damage anything. Also I've only managed to change the front coil overs as I can't get a bolt off the bottom of one of the back existing coilovers, its only so tight, I used a breaker type bar and just broke the socket I was using, any ideas??? -
Also have a set of Tein Super Streets (I think) which I'm just about to remove from my R34 GTR this weekend as I got a set of second hand hks items. I'm after $800 and I believe these will also suit R33's (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Once I've removed these on the weekend I'll be able to confirm that they are Tein super streets (they're definitely Teins) and I'll photograph immediately. I can't tell you how many k's the tein's have done as the car came with them but I can say they've done a minimum of 10,000km as that's how many km's I've done in the car. I also tested the mobile phone vs brick wall theory as a myth busters type experiment and for some unknown reason the wall won, who would have thought??? I'm borrowing a phone at the moment but if I don't reply to sms's or calls then just pm me, i'm on here practically every day. Cheers.

Hey mate just wondering what doesn't sound right? The maxed out AFMs at 255rwkw? It was Dr Drift who did that original tune and who provided that advice.

I just got a set of HKS coilovers secondhand through the jap auctions and they look practically brand new but unfortunately the spanners weren't included. I've also currently got a set of Tein coilovers which the car came with. Do I need the TEIN specific spanners to remove them??? BTW I'm selling the TEINs (off an R34 GTR, I believe it'll fit R33's also) if anyone is interested please feel free to pm me...

I had 255rwkw with stock injectors fuel pump and turbos before upgrading. The tuner advised at that point that my AFM were maxed out but the injectors were fine. I only just upgraded to nismo 600cc so if you're after some R34 gtr injectors I've a set for sale so PM me if you're interested mate...

Hey mate, I'm looking for the exact same thing at the moment, where are you getting them cheap as they don't look that cheap on their website??? I'm after tyres for stock R34 gtr rims and was thinkin of 265/35/18 as the stock 245/40/18 don't cover the full width of the rim properly...

So the car went in yesterday to get tuned after a new pair of 2860 -5s, 600cc nismo injects and nismo fuel pump went in. Now the mechanic installed the turbos as he blew them last time the car went in for a major service. On the drive home from getting the turbos installed one of the vacuum hoses came off as both boost gauges, mfd and blitz i-color gauge were reading a flat 0 even though the car was obviously making boost. When I got the car back the boost controller was definitely working as it was set to 1.2 bar and I hit this once on the way home before the hose came off. So I took the car in to get tuned and I'd totally forgotten about the gauges and vaccuum hose so I failed to mention it to the tuner as I was in such a rush. Anyway he tuned the car on stock boost and it made 294.9rwkw which I'm quite happy with. when I went to pick the car up i mentioned it to the tuner and we replaced the hose and the gauges worked again, so I upped the boost to 1.2 and it simply wouldn't hit that figure and it was spooling really slow so its fairly obvious that the boost controller isn't working. Any ideas as to what it could be???? I have replaced a couple of the vaccuum hoses with new ones while I was at the mechanics yesterday arvo. The doesn't hit full boost til really late in the rev range like over 5000 maybe even close to 6000rpm...

Stock R34 GTR Injectors - $300 Stock R34 GTR Fuel Pump - $150 Stock R34 Front Pipe - $50 Stock R34 GTR AFM, the plastic on one end is of one afm is broken, meter still works perfectly fine, I'll take pics to demonstrate. Can be glued to fix but I just haven't had a chance to do it. - make an offer. HKS Hi Power Silent Cat Back suits GTR, 85mm pipe, 120mm tip - $400 PM's are preferred as I won't have a chance to check this very often. I'll be posting pics of all items when I have a chance.

New Clutch For R34 Gt-r

Mate, I've got an R34 GTR as well and I recently replaced my clutch with a Jim Berry Full Monty Item. Cost about $1700 - 1800 delivered and he said it can hold upto 700hp. My car just got a pair of -5's but hasn't been tuned yet so I can't tell you how it handles a reasonable bit of power. I too am after 300-350awkw and I explained this to Jim at the time and he assured me that this clutch will handle those numbers without a problem. Also advised me that they're quite cheap to rebuild, he can rebuild one of his own clutches for $400-500. The car is my daily driver and the clutch is very driveable, worth a thought instead of the jap brands anyway mate... -
