  1. Sorry, I don't get on here too often. The shell is now sold but I still have the guages and a few other bits left. I have replied to your email. Cheers paul
  2. Sorry for the delay in replying, don't get on here too often.. I am sure there are a couple of rear crossmembers, one in the car plus a spare so yes you are welcome to one. Bit bulky to ship though, are you in Brisbane? I will be stripping the shell completely and then off to the crushers next week. Nobody want it? $1000 including all plates, logbook etc..
  3. Thanks guys.. I know the R33 V-Spec are different to the non V-spec as I have them both on the ground side by side. The V-spec has a larger flange diameter. The wrecked race car was a "normal" spec R33 GTR when we got it but I converted it to V-spec, leaving us with some spare "normal" type shafts. I was pretty sure the fronts were the same..from R33 to R32 It was really the rears I wasn't sure of, I thought the R33 may have been longer since the R33 had a fair bit wider rear track and I don't have any R32 ones to compare with? Cheers Paul
  4. As the title says, can anyone tell me if R32 GTR and R33 GTR driveshafts are the same? I have quite a few spares from our R33 GTR race car (now wrecked) and am now building an R32GTR, and would like to know what parts I should keep and what to get rid of.. Thanks in advance Paul
  5. Another great video from Tassieroo of Targa 2010, including Matt Close's Audi oops and a brilliant soundtrack. Don't know the guy but he does some great work..
  6. Sold with the booster yesterday sorry. I may (?) have another but will have to go searching. Both the orange GTR's ran pedal boxes, so should be 2 of the standard cylinders, but haven't seen the second one for a while.. I would like to update my original post with new prices & pics etc, but can't figure out how to do it? any help please..
  7. Well said Ben, I couldn't agree more.. I've done many years of successful gravel rallying, and done about 7 targas, and I can assure everyone that Targa is the hardest event there is, especially if you are there to have a decent crack at it. The last 4 visits have been two car teams with me driving one, and I don't think I could do it again. The logistics are enormous! Just getting everything there from Brisbane is hard enough, & I have yet to find service crew, bless their dedicated hearts, that didn't want to kill each other after 7 days in a car together! Recce can not be underated either. I have never done recce at Targa, always relying on bought notes, and I know during the event how much time it is costing us. Recce is another big cost towards doing the event though, and I never seem to have our cars ready in time. Maybe next year.. With regards to the navigators you guys have also wrapped it up pretty well. My gravel nav of many years is now trying to make it professionally overseas, and I think commands about $5k per event, although insurance takes a good 20% of this. I'm a wages earner, so every Targa is a battle financially, but I wouldn't expect a navigator to contribute to entry etc. Our deal normally involves them getting themselves there & back plus some help with accomodation. We did this a couple of years ago. Read the rules to death, looked at the handicaps, borrowed a mates Escort & fitted some good bits (that turned out to be not so good at all!), and against all odds ended up on the podium. Not the fastest Targa I will ever do, but probably the most rewarding. We will be back for as long as they will have us Cheers Paul
  8. I've had a good look at the shed tonight and can't find the steering wheel sorry, starting to think it may have been thrown out during our move? If I find it I'll let you know. I'll get some photos of these in the next few days thanks More photos up and some prices revised.. Paul
  9. Apologies for delays in getting back to anyone, we have internet at our new home now.. Email or phone are still the best contacts though. Carbon plates are yours, I'll pm details I'll haver a good look for the wheel, not sure if its at home or in storage. It came off this car so should be S3, how can you tell? Very keen to get the shell gone, need the room.. Paul
  10. Yeah it was a hard decision for us, but after alot of navel gazing we decided to reshell into an R32 because they are a bit lighter, smaller etc. The quote to fix our orange one was about $5.5k in labour plus parts and paint, so we figured we would be out of it for about $12k in total. Considering the cage ($10k cromoly job) and all running gear was fine, and its got full compliance etc, it was a tough decision.. By the time we found a good R32 shell and had it caged it owes us about the same, so still not sure if we did the right thing? We were despeartely trying to have it ready for Targa this year for my wife to run (Melinda Both, ran a pink WRX last year, 7th in early modern) , but didn't quite make it and pulled the pin a few weeks ago. She was pretty devastated and hoping to do even better this year, but after seeing the weather maybe not such a bad choice? Anyway, the build continues and will be at Targa High Country for sure.. A couple of pics of the R32, hope I'm not getting too off topic here? Paul
  11. I've still got my damaged 33 GTR shell under the house from last year's Targa with a perfectly good rear end. It might be just the thing for David to fix his car? Cheers Paul
  12. Car was damaged in Targa Tasmania 2009, and is now being stripped. We are rebuilding into an R32 shell (lighter) using most of the mechanicals, so are selling what is left. The car is repairable, but not economical for us to do so paying full retail panel beater rates. The accident was right front hard impact then one roll. No damage rear of the front doors. I have priced most of the parts (front rail, skirt, supprot, roof cut, doors-$1000) The car was built in 2003 at huge expense. Is has a homologated full Cromolly cage from Competition Fabracations (cost $8000) that appears undamaged. Was built from an Australian complied car, so still has all compliance, blue plate for mods, and CAMS and AASA logbooks. The car was converted to V-Spec and still has the active diff, twin pumps etc in it. Looking for $2500 for the basic shell with plates and logbooks. Pick up only (located in Brisbane). We have just moved house and need the space. Phone or email are best contacts as I am not on the forums too often.. Thanks Paul 0433 774 246 [email protected] There are numerous other parts from the R33 spares and left over from the R32 build that are for sale also. Below is a short list and I will add to it over the next few days. Unsure of the value of alot of this gear so have looked at other adds on this site and tried to price accordingly? As mentioned earlier we have just moved house and much stuff is still packed and we have limited internet access for the moment, so please be patient with responses. Will post small items only, pickup only for larger items (or local delivery in Brisbane can be negotiated) Cheers paul
  13. My vote is for the cheap, cheerful & reliable Ford Territory.
  14. This track is going to be fantastic when it's upgraded - should be really challenging
  15. Not much for me this year, but I am thinking about competing in the Targa High Country - anyone else going to this?
  16. I don't believe this is the case, although some clubs or series' have requirements where you have to help out to qualify for points etc.
  17. I'll second that
  18. Hi, are the dump pipes and Y piece still available? Tried to ring but no luck? Cheers paul
  19. Thanks for the info so far all. And yes, heading off to Targa if we can get this thing fixed in time... Story of the entry here http://www.tarmac-mag.com.au/news_detail.php?newsid=115 I also thought changing the whole sump may be easier, but do not want to take the engine out so maybe just doing the diff will be the better option? Either that or try and do the whole sump etc by dropping out the crossmember? Both crown wheel & pinions are different, R33 is 37/9 and R34 is 39/11 I'll be making many calls in the morning to see who might be able to do it in time..
  20. Hi All We have just purchased an R33 GTR Vspec race car that has had a new engine fitted a couple of years ago but never run. While getting everything sorted we noticed the engine was fitted with a brand new sump/front diff. Thought we better check further and found the front diff is R34GTR and 3.54:1 ratio, no good with the 4.1:1 rear. We now need to change the front diff urgently, the car has to leave for interstate competition in a week. Can this be done in the car without pulling the engine out? Is it easier to drop out the front subframe and change the whole sump assembly? Are both R33 and R34 front diffs R160 type (ie: can I use the same housing)? And finally can anyone recommend someone in Brisbane experienced to do this? Thanks in advance for your help. Paul
  21. Hi, We are after an engine dipstick and tube for R33GTR. We have just put a new engine in the race car and somehow in the swap the dipstick & tube were lost/thrown out. Car is due on the dyno Tuesday, racing mext weekend. Can anyone help please? I am in Brisbane... Cheers Paul
