Ok heres the deal.... I found a stagea AWD DET longblock fitted with an rb20det head. It has a spun rod bearing but the fellow only wants a few hundred bucks for the longblock.
The engine will be used in a drift car. Aiming for 300-350hp along with other characteristics that define a great performing drift engine.
I have done some searching around and found one thread in particular that lists parts used in a similar rebuild. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...hl=rb25+rebuild
Any thoughts on how any of that would apply to my rebuild?
Im pretty much looking for a list of recommended parts, machining, DIY upgrades, etc.. that would apply to my rebuild.. Particularly, in regards to bottom end rebuild and head modifications. I'd like to do this right the first time. So, feel free to include those "not necessary, but useful" upgrades/machine work.
Im assuming everyone is going to recommend ditching the 20 head for rb25det head?
I've already looked into the RB head oil feed issue and will be correcting that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers!
