  7. if it gets out of hand, the rental tribunal is there to help. probably wont need to get to that... its pretty surprising that the landlord has some of that mo-flo stuff lying about, they really dropped the ball on their duty of care on that one. being given that stuff, and having to do it yourself is all ammo in your arsenal for getting this resolved. if it were me in your shoes, id be wanting the landlord to have all of this fixed by COB tomorrow, its not your problem that he has to wait to have the money for the repair, that is what cash converters is for
  8. also if ur left nut is bigger than the right, it will cause uneven tire wear and make u use more fuel
  9. yeah "Ph <1" depending on the concentration that could have ur hand off
  10. Hey Kel, have a read through ur rental agreement. Are there any clauses relating to repair? i used to property manage a block of flats, and for items that are considered a necessity of daily life i wrote in there would be a 2-4 hour response time to assess any damage/need for repair. it did result in me getting up in the wee hours a few times and repairing fuses, and also sussing out busted water heaters. From there i would make a verbal commitment to the tennant with a maximum time that it would take to resolve (i used to go out on a limb big time with this). It is fairly common for land lords to want to fix things themselves... but that being said, i find it hard to believe the "mum" didnt stick around to make sure it works ok now. im my opinion both yourself and the landlord have taken reasonable action so far (apart from the mums lack of giving a shit). Given that working drains are a necessity of daily life, a plumber should be sent out quick smart.... not only so you dont have to be in a stinky flooded shower, but it also could cause further damage to the property (i'd play this card with the land son of rajab.... it is their investment after all) /2c
  11. hahah thats great Dean
  12. also depends what was clogging up the drain :|

  14. Dear eBay and GraysOnline Auctions, Please refrain from existing for a 3 day period after my paycheck hits my bank account. I wont buy stupid crap and be poor till the next paycheck when you surely will rear your ugly heads once again. If this is done im sure we will have a long and fruitful relationship. Kind Regards, Carl
  15. fkn great work andrew... i love doing stuff like that
  16. hahahaha, dont think i will be able to sort it in the same way i "sorted" your intarwebs account cheers Pete, I'm chuffed to say the least thanks Craig, TBH i have been activly looking for a new job since i got back from Thailand in october. i was determined to move up not sideways, so that ground work goes a long way... got me a few interviews that i had no business attending due to lake of experience.
  17. i applied for a position about 4 months ago, got thru all the interviews, police/criminal history checks and a known associate check. the position got pulled cos of job cuts and they were only able to offer an 8 week position at the time. when one of the interviewers called me to break the news, they said they were impressed and sorry there was not a position to offer any more. I got the impression they weren't just trying to soften the news by being nice. Got a call today, and it turns out i was right.... someone got a promotion, and instead of advertising they called me i gotta say i'd have to put it down to all of the ground work that i did. i called them before i applied and asked a bunch of questions, making sure they knew my name. Also after i got the news that there was not a position to offer i emailed David Connoley (Manager of Adelaide, Christies and the Port Magistrates courts) thanking them for the interview and being nice enough to reschedule one of my interviews. so starting Monday, i will be a court officer working with fines and payments...... needless to say im stoked
