  1. Hi all i have for sale a r32 silver top AFM for a rb20det. i am after $75 for it.
  2. yes you can remove it, just got to plug up the lines to the manifold, how ever if a smart cop or the epa pull u up for a check over you will be in shit for not having it.

  5. i am after a g/c turbo, must be larger than a rb20det turbo, would prefer a rb25 turbo with steel wheels or maybe a vg30 or t3/t4 hiflow. if you have something pm me.
  6. i have fully rebuilt an rb20det and since rebuilding it, the standard turbo is to small as it is starting to over boost at at around 5500rpm, so i need something bigger or with a bigger wastgate. has anyone else had this happen, and what would be a good size turbo to go for? cheers

  8. i have found that my car runs best on Caltex Vortex 98 and run second best on BP Ultimate. i also get around 500k's a tank
  9. yeah it feels like the afm is reaching the max air flow and everything just cut's out, i will check the coil earths tonight, also the signal wire going to the airflow meter is not shelded, so this might be causing the issue as well. thanks for the ideas
  10. hey all my rb20det will rev out to 7,000 in first, then you go to second and it will cut out at around 6,000rpm then if you put it in to third, you will be lucky to rev to 5,000 before it just cut's out. it feels like the ign and fuel just cuts out, anyone got any ideas on what the cause could be, it is a dead stock rb20det, running 10psi of boost.
  11. i had a issue like this, it would drive fine, then it would start cutting out. it did not matter if you were in a high or low gear, some times i could rev it to 7k and it would be fine, then other times it would just cust out. i replaced the o2 sensor and it has been fine ever since.
  12. well after alot of stuffing around, it turned out to be a faulty 02 sensor.
  13. needed asap rb20det silver top afm and if possible the plug as well.
  14. come on someone must have had an issue like this, also i run the ecu diagnostic and got 12 first of all and then later try it again and got 55.

Hey all i have an issue with my rb20, i had to pull it out of the car to fix an issue with the clutch, since i have put it back in, it will idle fine, but when i take it for a spin and it starts to come on to boost, the motor will just cut out for a few seconds and then it comes fine again. this is around 3000 rpm just tryed reving it in neutral and it seems to hit a limiter at 2500rpm with my foot flat to the floor dose anyone have an thoughts as to whats wrong? by the way it seems to be totally random, as it will drive good for 5min and then it will start stuffing around Cheers

  17. thank everyone i got it running, BHDave hit the nail on the head, it was the IGN wire from the switch not giving power when cranking.
  18. ok, i now have spark, IGN and ESSC relay are working, i have given 12v + to the aac valve and the 02 sensor heater, also the CAS is working, but the motor still won't start, any idea's what else i am need to check. cheers
  19. the 6 triggers from the ecu, are they - or + triggers i'll check the eccs and the ign relay, but i am shore they have power. cheers
  20. ok, after looking over the diagrams again, i am still lost with what you gays are saying, the ignitor pack has 6 wires going in one side, and 7 the other side. on the side with 6 wires it shows them going to the ecu(pins 1, 2, 3, 11, 12, 13), then on the other side it shows 6 wires going to the coils and 1 wire going to earth. the only thing i can see that is connected to one of the relays is the power going to the coils. let me know if i have this all wrong Dan

  22. i can't see any relays in the wiring diagrams, as there are 6 wires comming from the ecu to the ignitor and then the other side of the ignitor goes to the 6 coils packs. i am getting no signal to fire from the ecu, so if you could explaine were this relay is ment to be, that would be help full.
  23. hi all i am trying to get a rb20det running in a vl, but i have an issue with the wiring, when i turn the IGN on, the fuel pump primes, the lights on the ecu are on, but it won't start so i pulled out the CAS and turned it around with the IGN on and started testing wires, the injectors are working, but i am getting no power to the ignitor pack from the ecu while spinning the CAS, i have tested the wires back to the ecu and they are fine. dose anyone have an ideas were i have gone wrong.   24. an easy way to get them out, is to use a mig and build up some weld on the busted stud, weld on a nut and then wind them out
  25. sounds like a boost/vac leak, my car did it for a while till i found a hole in the piping, it would go sweet and then all of a suddon it would cut out under load and the tacho would go nuts.
